Everyone gasped at the sight before them. They could not believe
what had just happened to the strongest member of their team.
"Hiro-kun…" The angel murmured in disbelief. He saw this
coming and yet the very sight of it created all of the same
feelings as it would the first time. It was a ghastly sight to
behold for anyone, no matter how many times it unfolded and even
seemed predictable to a divine being like him.
The bloody Crimson Blade was tossed down on the ground roughly,
creating a 'ko-klank' against the ground. "One down," the
red-haired elf smirked darkly. "Well, that takes care of your
little angel."
"Hiro…" Azmy couldn't even utter his entire name before her
tears flowed down her cheeks. She feared the worst. A slate blue
gaze saw the sword sticking through his chest clearly. Hiroshima
could very well be dead from an attack like that. He wasn't even
moving a little. His own sword had nearly ripped him in two!
"Don't cry," Undine stated in a simple yet slightly commanding
tone.
"Huh?" The short-haired girl looked to her in shock. How could she
not cry at something like this? Sure, Hiroshima may have been cruel
but she could see the good in him. She couldn't just be completely
emotionless towards a delicate situation like this.
"Be strong." Those words that her ally had uttered seemed so simple
to perform but were always hard for someone who wore their emotions
on their sleeves as Azmy had. She couldn't remember how many times
she'd been told that phrase and she never could abide by it.
Inside of the crystal entrapment, Keiji was on his knees. He tried
to see if he could get a glimpse of Hiroshima's face through the
blood, feathers and broken bones. He uttered the angel's name in a
saddened tone but shortly after became confused with his own
sympathy towards someone who had nearly murdered him initially.
'Why do I feel so tormented and as if I might cry?'
"It's sad when angels deserve to die. What kind of legend is beaten
so easily?" Elf Kaizer asked arrogantly. "You honestly think you
could have beaten Flora-sama? Get real!"
"You know that was beyond unfair. You blind-sided him," Musashi
stated. He may have not been on the Elf's side but when it came to
an honorable fight, he knew all too well that the red-haired elf
was anything but honorable in this case.
"That was a cheap shot! You should be ashamed of yourself!" Ko
scolded.
"That was my fault…" A small voice spoke up a few feet behind
the white-haired girl. Undine looked to Azmy and wondered why she
uttered such a phrase.
"What do you mean?"
"I prayed…I summoned him. I hurt him," the shy girl clenched
her eyes shut to keep more tears from falling but she just
couldn't. She felt so guilty for what she'd done. Azmy wished that
it were her instead of Hiroshima who had gotten hurt so badly. The
guilt was eating her alive. "I'm so sorry…Hiroshima-dono,"
the tormented girl fell to her knees in shame. Undine simply stared
at her as she wept.
"Get up," Keiji looked down at the angel and commanded darkly.
Hiroshima was silent and still.
The drummer put his hand on the surface of his glass prison. "Come
on Hiroshima, get up! You're stronger then that! You can't just lay
there! There's no way you would tolerate it! You wouldn't ever lay
there and take it. You'd kill her for what she said. You're
stronger then that!" He began to pound on the glass with his fists.
"Get up! Please…" Evergreen bangs shaded his eyes as he was
beginning to look defeated at his futile attempts to get through to
the fallen angel. "You can't be dead…There's still so much
about you that I don't know….I don't know anything about
you." He then leaned against the surface with his hand atop it.
'Hiro-kun…' Tsurugi thought in sympathy for a moment,
and then clenched his fist by his side. A sudden flicker of
determination crossed his face and he spoke up. "I'm going to
fight," the dark angel lunged forward but was stopped suddenly by
something that grabbed his wrist firmly. Heavenly blue eyes looked
behind him to see Ko holding on to him tightly.
"Ko-chan…"
"Don't," the girl warned in a serious tone. "You already got hurt
from journeying to the Cloud Kingdom. You need to rest."
"I can't…I can't sit back," Tsurugi glanced over to Pandora's
Casket in deep empathy for the two males, "and watch everyone fail
and fall all around me."
"You don't have to," she leveled him with a serious expression.
"Ko…" The angel averted his eyes.
"I'll go."
"What!?!" Chichiri exclaimed. He didn't think that the girl would
try something this crazy.
"Ko…" Azmy looked at her from her position on the ground. Ko
had always been so tough. She wished that she could be more like
her.
"That could be dangerous, Ko," Musashi informed.
"I don't care," the determined singer said strongly. "Tsurugi has a
point. We can't just sit back here and watch. Everyone will die if
we do that…and I can't live with that guilt."
"Well, good luck Ko," Fife smiled.
"Thanks Fife," Ko gave him a strong but kind smile in return. The
singer then walked out to Elf Kaizer, who was standing above
Hiroshima's fallen form.
"Huh? What's this?" The elf heard her coming and looked over her
shoulder.
"Ko!" Keiji's voice was muffled through the thick walls of his
casket.
"Don't touch my friends! This battle isn't over and although I'm
not quite sure on how to work this thing." She pointed her staff at
her enemy. "I'll definitely give it my best shot. So come on, fight
me."
"I'll gladly kill you," Elf Kaizer smiled and looked at her with
demented glee as she rushed at her.
"Ko! What are you doing!?" Keiji screamed. If Hiroshima couldn't
defeat Elf Kaizer and he was the strongest on their side then Ko
had no chance of even putting a dent in her, even with the elf
weakened as she is now. The girl put the staff in front of her
mouth and prepared herself for an attack.
"Alright, I hope I'm doing this right," she then took a deep breath
and shouted at the top of her lungs into the top of the staff.
"BACK OFF!" Sound waves busted through the air and ripped up the
ground. The elf screamed in bloody murder and covered her ears as
she was assaulted relentlessly with extreme sound waves.
"It worked."
Keiji was silent.
"I believe that she found a way that considerably weakens Elf
Kaizer," Undine spoke.
"That was loud, wasn't it?" Musashi asked.
"That weapon no doubt amplifies sound. Tsurugi knew what he was
doing when he gave it to a singer."
"I'll kill you!" Elf Kaizer shouted in anger. She still held her
ears as the echoing noises of the sound waves bounced around in her
skull. She could barely hear anything and felt as if her ear drums
had busted. The elf couldn't believe that she ran into the attack
so easily. She would not make that mistake again.
"Hit me with your best shot," Ko said, her voice amplified a little
by her weapon, she then put it to her lips and shouted into it,
singing that last word of her phrase. "I'm ready to GO!!"
"Shit!" Elf Kaizer cursed to herself and jumped to the side, barely
dodging the sound waves as they struck a tree behind her and fried
it to a crisp. The tree was charred and black as night. All life on
it had been burnt off. Keiji looked down to Hiroshima to check on
him and then back up towards Ko.
"Go Ko-chan! You can do it!" Fife cheered loudly with a hand to the
side of his mouth.
"You know if she'll win…don't you?" Undine asked as she
looked to the dark angel.
"Yes," Tsurugi answered.
"Will she need help?"
"It won't matter who fights. The outcome will be the same."
"Hiroshima isn't waking up."
"He's lost a lot of blood. When Elf Kaizer struck him, she nearly
cut him in half."
"He'll bleed to death at this rate," Undine's expression turned
dire.
"There's nothing we can do for him."
"There maybe nothing you can do but there is plenty I can do."
"Undine…"
The small girl walked over to Keiji and Hiroshima while Ko and Elf
Kaizer were distracted. She figured that while the two women fought
that she'd be able to heal the injured angel, at least enough to
where he wouldn't lose so much blood and regain consciousness. She
looked at the encased boy, who gave her a sympathetic look
back.
"Please Undine, help him," the boy nearly begged. She had never
noticed such a rare emotional tone to his voice as she had in that
instant. Undine then sat on her knees and held her hands slightly
above the wound in his back, which was still gushing out blood.
"Undine, spirit of the water in which my name was derived, I call
upon your powers of the sea to help me heal this man's wounds," she
chanted as water seemed to flow from the ground to her hand in
streams. The water then flowed down to his wound to address its
mater's call but black angry lightening shot from his severed wings
and trailed up the water, delivering a harsh shock to the girl. She
could hear Keiji call her name as she recoiled from the angry
magic, it had thrown her into the crystal. Keiji flinched as her
back hit the wall and she slid down the surface. Her slate blue
ponytail slithered down the top of it. The girl groaned then
twitched as she cracked her eyes open. A dull pain resided in her
back and her entire body tingled.
"What was that?" Undine could see the symbol of a black pentagram
between Hiroshima's shoulder blades where his severed wings were
present. She noticed that this was not a holy symbol but the upside
down version which was called the Sigil of Basphomet.
"A pentagram," Keiji said in a detached voice.
'A symbol of Lucifer.' The girl thought to herself
upon recalling the angel state that he had originated in hell.
'Could he be a servant of Lucifer?'
'Is that his curse…that he can't be healed? But that's
significant…what? Did he lie to me?' The green-haired boy
wondered. Hiroshima had told him that if it was anything
significant that he would be alerted of the curse and its actions.
This was definitely something that should have been said to him. He
couldn't believe that the angel would lie to him about something
this important.
"I told you all," Tsurugi said.
"But…There's more to this, isn't there?" Fife asked as the
dark angel smiled at him. Leave it to someone like Fife to point it
out to him. "That's a protective seal. It regulates his powers but
only those given to his wings…no…this can't be. If it
were a protective seal then Elf Kaizer would not have been able to
cut off his wings with the Crimson."
Musashi picked up the blade a few feet away and examined the once
bloody blade. It was perfectly clean in his feathery hands. The
Wind Cavern was confused at this. 'Odd…It's completely
free of blood and debris…'
"Be careful Ko," Chichiri wished her good luck, although she could
not hear it. Their weapons clashed again and again as the two women
fought.
"I won't let you-" Ko spoke as she tried to draw her weapon to
deliver a sound attack but it was knocked away by the elf.
"I don't think so," Elf Kaizer spat. Ko then brought down the
weapon to bash her with it but the nimble elf managed to jump out
of the way.
"I really don't care what you think."
"Yo-yo! Go!" The red-haired woman flung her yo-yo out towards the
human.
"I don't think so!" Ko sang into the weapon as the waves hit the
yo-yo and the toy shattered under the sound pressure. Then contents
inside then exploded.
"Wha! My yo-yo! Okay! That's it!" Elf Kaizer fumed. The yo-yo was
her favorite weapon and now even it was gone. There was no possible
way to even rebuild it because the pieces were too broken up. She'd
have to build a new one and that would take time. The angry woman
then created a large, black crescent and swung her arm across her
view. The crescent shaped piece of energy spiraled at the girl as
the elf shouted 'Spiraling Dark Crescent'. Blue eyes widened as she
saw it speeding towards her. Ko jumped over it and ran at her
opponent, who smirked and delivered an inhumanly fast kick to her
stomach. It caused the singer to gasp. Ko went wide-eyed as she
produced a pained noise and flew backwards from the force of the
kick, clutching her staff in her hands tightly. She didn't want it
to fly away from her and be used against her as Hiroshima's sword
was to on him.
"Ko!" Chichiri shouted in dismay as the elf stabbed down but her
strike was blocked by the girl's staff. Elf Kaizer called her
pathetic as she tried to put distance between herself and her
opponent
Musashi held the sword in his hands and looked down on it in deep
contemplation. 'This sword…It's tasted the blood of so
many…even its master…' The Wind Cavern thought as
he held it close to himself.
Ko and Elf Kaizer's weapons clashes three times before the angry
elf punched the ground as the human female jumped un and did a back
flip, or at least attempted to. It was only a one-handed spring
which caused her to fall to the ground. The girl yelled as rocks
flew up around her, cutting into her skin. She lay on the ground,
motionless.
"Ko!" Azmy shouted helplessly from the sidelines unable to stop the
events that were unfolding before her. First Hiroshima then Ko,
why? Why was everyone falling around her?
"Get up Ko!" Chichiri shouted, trying to give her confidence.
"This isn't good," Fife still wore his ever-present smile.
"You dumb ass! Stop standing there and do something!" Keiji
criticized.
"I wished I could, Keiji-kun," the homosexual boy them gave him a
saddened smile.
"Do something!" The angry boy pounded the surface with his
still-bleeding hands; the red substance was smeared on both the
inside and out.
Azmy lunged forward to try and get to the two feuding women. She
was tired of standing back and simply watching as everyone around
her died. She couldn't take it anymore! She was going to do
something about this, even if it meant that she would eventually
die too. Her body jolted as she was caught by something gentle yet
firm. "Huh? Fife!"
"If Hiroshima-sama couldn't beat them, what makes you think that
you can?"
"I can try! If we don't do something then Ko will die!"
"We can't save her now," Undine stated.
"You're just saying that because she doesn't like you and you know
it!" Azmy was a little angry that Undine wouldn't help her even
though she knew that Ko was in trouble. "Please, let me go!" She
struggled against Fife's grip.
"There are some things that we truly cannot chance, no matter how
hard we try…" Fife's voice was mysterious and somewhat
serious. Once again it took a 360 degree turn from its radiant
self.
"I'd rather try and know I did something then sit back and do
nothing," She said with strength but her façade then
diminished as she frowned and her voice trembled.
"Please…"
'She's right…Everyone will die if nothing is done…I
feel so powerless to help…I'm a holy being and I've not
killed anyone…even those who have invaded heaven…I know
Kuro and Hikari have killed in order to protect Lord Raiki…Is
it really a sin to kill someone in order to save another's
life?' Musashi wondered as he looked at the blade that he held
in his hands.
"Die!" Elf Kaizer shouted and kicked at the other female, who held
her staff up to block her foot.
"I'm not giving up."
"How endearing," the elf said in a mocking tone before she knocked
the staff away from Ko once more. "Wish I cared. Now…Gack!"
She suddenly chocked as her eyes widened and she coughed up a large
amount of blood. Everyone's faces lit up with surprise at the sight
that unfolded before them. Fife and Undine didn't seem to be phased
by the event that had taken place. They simply watched as it
unfolded.
"I don't care if it's a sin. I can't let you kill Miss Ko," Musashi
held the end of the Crimson Blade. It's cruel steel blade
protruding from the red-haired elf's chest.
"Musashi…" Ko whispered in a voice that trembled with
surprise and shock. Out of anyone she didn't think that Musashi
would be the one to slay the elf.
Keiji shaded his eyes as he heard a massive shattering noise and
felt his prison break around him. Pieces of it hit against his skin
as his form fell to the ground on its knees. He landed beside of
Hiroshima. The green-haired boy's features turned to those of
sorrow and he murmured the legend's name once more then hung his
head in silence, ashamed of what had happened because of his own
undoing.
