Sitting back in his big suede leather chair he placed his gloved hands on the back of his head whistling a catchy tune to himself. At this point in time he could barely stand the amount of emotion building up inside of him and his eye slowly twitched as his boots clunked on the desk in front of him. Stretching back he thought to himself, "God that woman is really such a pain in my ass sometimes."
His head perked up as he finally heard the big wooden doors upstairs slam shut. Than he mumbled slightly "Home at last." Looking up slightly he saw her begin to descend down the stairs. Walking softly her long leather boots clanged on the steel of the winding stairs as she made her way down the winding stairs. Reaching the bottom she made her way through the mess on the floor and pushed her way past a few old book shelves cluttered with dusty books. She raised her head up to notice him sitting behind the desk with a lamp on, just eyeing her casually.
Taking out the cigarette that was perched lightly on her lips she put it out on the side of the shelf next to her. "So I see your home early Jaliard."
He rolled his eyes slightly "Yep, home-sweet-mess-of-a-crap home."
A small smile peaked out on her face as she pulled out a small chair from the wall. Turning it around she sat on it easily and, like Jaliard, stretched her legs right along his and adjusted her eye patch with one finger. "So, did ya take up any interesting jobs last night" adding on casually "you know...to help pay the bills around here."
At that he chuckled slightly. Hell it was because of her that he was stressed out on the inside, and hiding it so well for that matter. "Really? You" he pointed to her "you want to talk to" than he pointed to back to himself "me about taking care of the bills?"
Her red lips pierced as she too let out a chuckle, "Yes is that a problem?"
All he could do was laugh some more. "Is that a problem? Is that a problem?" He removed his feet from the desk and sat upright, folding his hands up on top of the desk. "Lets talk about this morning shall we Naya?"
Closing her one good eye all she could do was reply, "'Sure, why not?"
Clearing his throat he began, "Ok, how did your job go this morning?"
"Fine."
He eyed her down slowly as menacing as he could, "Really? There is nothing anything particular that I should know about what happened this morning?"
She could see his 'stare' and was quite not intimidated by it. Although, despite he was her boss she was quite unfazed by anything 'menacing' that came from him, "Nope."
He sat back again and picked up a remote, "Is that so? Than Im glad that this huge headline on TV is nothing but a lie." At that he turned on the tv perched on the wall behind them, and the news fizzled into view. What was on the news was quite familiar because she was involved in it about an hour ago. There on that channel was the site of the truck she toppled over and the cars upon cars crashed behind it all in a big huge blaze on the bridge.
His voice began to fake some enthusiasm as he stood, "And its not only on one channel." Quickly he flipped through every news station only to see the same site over and over again, "Its on all the channels." Looking down upon her he faked a grin, "But your not involved in this right?"
Shifting her weight in the chair she slightly crossed her arms, "You know what? Now that I remember it" She paused slightly, "I may have been involved in that."
Turning off the tv he slapped his hand against his head muttering to himself, "I may have, I may have." Than suddenly his voice rose up "NAYA!, what the hell did I tell you about killing people?"
She responded plainly, "Don't do it."
Than he leaned down as if he was scolding a child, "and what did you do?"
Shrugging her shoulders she just looked up at him, "I did it."
At that he slumped his head down on the desk. Looking at her with one eye he said, "I really hate you sometimes."
Finally she removed herself from the seat and stood up. Leaning down she planted a kiss on top of his head. Than she lifted her head up, "Shut up, ya love me and you know it!"
The frustration inside of him was dying down a bit as he tilted his head to the side and looked up at her. "Oh? and do you care to explain the reason as to WHY I love you."
She sighed slightly as she walked over to the cabinet. Opening it up slightly she came across her assortment of ninja stars, knives, and short blades. Taking out a huge hunting knife she slid into her pants as she added on, "Because you pick the crappy jobs, and I pick the ones that pay," turning around she looked at him as she shook the hair out of her eyes, "big time."
Removing a butterfly knife she stabbed it down on the desk right next to his head. This caused him to jerk his head up and stare at her as she continued on, "Now this job I did this morning paid 10,000 dollars." Jaliards mouth dropped open as she raised one finger "And that’s only the beginning....I got to break in to the museum again tonight and steal some sort of 'map' our employer wants really bad."
Jaliard had to look at her curiously for this. "So? Whats the big deal about this one job?" He shrugged his shoulders casually, "I mean you never tell me about any of your other jobs, so why this one?"
She leered at him slightly, "Your an idiot sometime."
Finally it hit him, "Oooohhhh, so those people that you turned into filet mignon worked for the museum." Seeing the look of approval on her face showed him he got the right answer "Right, so your worried about them beefing up security, so you want some....." he paused waiting for her to finish.
She coughed slightly as she expected him to finish the sentence for her.
Smiling slightly, because he knew this was a rare occasion, he looked with interest at her. "Come on, ya know ya want to say it."
She turned her head to the side and muttered, "Nope."
His head followed hers, "Come on, I know its a big word for her."
She hated the insult on her intelligence so she glared back at him, "Not going to say it,"
He smiled deeply, "Come on...."
Already tired of playing this childish game she let out a sigh. "Fine I'll say it." She looked back at him to see such a giddy look on his face that she could just kill herself, and than she let out very slightly "I need your help...."
At that his arms flung around her and hugged her tightly. "YAY!" he squeezed her like a soft bear. He swung her back forth very fast with joy, "Oh I'm so glad you said the 'H' word"
At that he felt her sharp hunters knife poking against his nuts. This was soon followed by a loud scream from her, "GET THE FUCK OFF ME BEFORE I MAKE YOU A GIRL!"
Very quickly he let go and hopped over to the staircase. When he reached the stairs he grabbed a hold of the rail and began his way up. Looking back he could see she was wondering where he was going so he leaned over the rail, "Oh don't worry I'm going to come help you out tonight. I Just need to take a trip into town real quick and get something." He continued up the stairs with great speed, "Be back soon!"
When she heard the big wooden doors slam shut upstairs she sat down in his chair. Placing her head into her hand and rubbing her temples she said to herself, "What a moron."
