V-Day Card

I:

-Kohaku-

Okay, this is weird. I made it to school this morning like usual. (Or rather what was left of it. Clare really destroyed half of the city with her “gift”. Such a pain.) I made it over to my locker. A flash of pink caught my eye.

Hm? What is that? I reached forward and pulled it out. I found myself looking at a pink and lacy Valentine's Day card. I looked at it front and back. The card was addressed to me. There weren't any designs from what I could see. I opened up the card.

“To my dearest love,” the inside read. “I really like you. You are really great. Please me mine.” I narrowed my eyes. Was this a joke? I looked around the half-ruined hallway. What few people I saw were lost in their chatter. I frowned as I looked at the card again. This was going to drive me crazy.

II:

I was never really social at school. I don't believe in cliques. It's all dumb to me. There's still a cell phone thief on the loose. They are saying the boiler man did it. I don't care. Why won't anyone want to take my crappy phone?

I sat down at my desk. Why am I still coming to school? The teachers don't show up. Most of the building was gone anyway. It's all pointless.

I took out that bright pink card again. I read the message again. Who sent this?

III:

“Hey!” I heard behind me. I turned to see Clare grinning at me. I about jumped out of my chair. She grinned and waved.

“Yo!” Clare said. I raised my eyebrow.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Just figured I would stop by,” she said.

“Why?” I asked. Clare just shrugged.

“Go away,” I said.

“Why?” she asked. It was then she saw the valentine on my desk.

“Ooo! What's that?” Clare asked. I was quick to cover my desk.

“Nothing!” I shouted. “Go away!” Clare tackled me to get my valentine.

“No! Get off! Get off!” I shouted. But she overpowered me and took the valentine.

“Hey! Give it back!” I yelled. Clare ignored me as she looked at the card front and back. She raised her eyebrows.

“Oh! Who sent you this?” Clare asked. I snatched back the valentine.

“I don't know!” I snapped. Clare gave me a catlike smile.

“What?” I asked, wrinkling my nose.

“Oh nothing,” she said. I just sneered at her.

IV:

-Outside-

Red lights flashed everywhere. The machine started beeping like mad.

“Huh?” Footsteps dashed to the computer. Keys started typing.

“What the…? Boss!” Footsteps rushed to the computer.

“Holy shit!”

“Men! Get moving now!” Footsteps ran out the door.

V:

-Kohaku-

Clare suddenly froze. “We have to go.”

“Huh?” I asked. Before I knew it, I was grabbed up and snatched out of the classroom.
