Chapter Eight: A Secret Past
“What's the Spice Momma house?” Britt asked.
“It's a secret group led by this super sexy lady named Barbara,” Michael blurted. Everyone stared at him.
“How do you know?” Craig raised an eyebrow.
“Uh, well, er, I, um, heard it somewhere? Yeah, that's right! I heard in on the, um, Internet!” Michael scratched his head nervously.
“Well, now that I've idiotically spilled the beans, I have no choice but to force you all to go there!” Eric got a sinister look on his face.
“Well, okay. Yeah, sure. Why not,” Emerged from their mouths.
“Grr, so much for forcing,” He grumbled as they embarked on their journey to the Spice Momma house.
They rode in the super awesome Demonazi car. All the way there, Michael was suspiciously quiet.
“Psst,” Britt tapped Arnie's shoulder.
“Yes?” Arnie looked at her.
“Why is Michael so quiet?”
“I dunno, but I think he knows more than the rest of us,” Arnie's deep brown eyes looked almost black as he glanced out of the super awesome windows of the super awesome car. Michael was still quiet.
When they got to their destination, they saw…nothing.
“Where is it?” David scratched his head.
“There's probably more to this than meets the eye,” Micky glanced around the land. Michael pushed a random rock on the ground and a whole leading underground appeared.
“Could it really be him?” Eric whispered under his breath.
“Him who—“ Craig was cut off when everyone started to enter the underground.
For being underground, it was a rather clean place.
“A woman must be in charge here, no man could keep it this nice,” Craig giggled to himself. His prediction was soon confirmed. Eric took them all into a room with a door labeled “Momma.”
“Momma, I bring the cretins!” He bowed before the shadows.
“Perfect!” A light switched on and an older woman was revealed. She was tall, with light brown hair and tan skin.
“Barbara, my love!” Michael's voice cracked as he yelped.
“Yes Michael, it is me,” The woman ginned.
“Wha?” Britt was tongue-tied.
“Let us all sit down in the library and I'll explain,” Barbara, Momma, lead them out of the room and down the hall to a cozy little library. Everyone sat down.
“Back, way back, before this war, about 19 years ago, I fell in love,” Barbara began.
“Didn't we all,” Duane groaned.
“I didn't. I wasn't even alive yet!” Britt complained.
“Neither was I!” Chey added.
“Anyway!” Barbara growled, “I fell in love with that man there, Michael Blasting,” She pointed at Michael.
“And I with you,” He smiled.
“And I bore a child,” She continued.
“What?” Michael's jaw dropped.
“I kept the child a secret. Michael had a job as a hit man. I didn't want to ruin his credibility. He was away on a long, rigorous mission while I was pregnant. Luckily, it ended after I had the child. It was a boy. I named him Michael Jr.” She glanced at all of them, except Michael, as she spoke.
“For two years, we shard more love together. Then I became pregnant again. This time, Michael had to leave for good. He was sent to Russia to work there. I could not go because it was my duty to lead this house. I had the other son and named him Joe. I did not raise both children alone though. While Michael and I were together, I hired a man named Ken Warlord to take care of Michael Jr.”
“Ken…” Michael growled under his breath.
“Then, after Michael left me for Russia, Ken watched Joe as well and…became my lover,” Barbara's eyes finally rested on Michael.
“Barbara, I could have quit my job,” Tears ran down Michael's face.
“No, I couldn't have let you do that. This way was best,” She swallowed hard.
“I went almost 20 years not knowing I had two sons. How is that best?”
“Well, do you want to meet them?”
“Yes, please,”
“Okay Eric, go get the boys,”
“Yes ma'am,” Eric left the room.
--There was a long silence.—
“Wait…Michael was a hit man?!” Craig looked confused.
