Rinsi was a bit shocked when her staff didn't knock him out, but snapped out of it quickly when she heard shattering glass. Looking up at Ichio she saw him falling, almost as if in slow motion, through the window. She darted forward and grabbed his foot just in time. However, because of his weight and momentum, she was pulled along wit him. She felt shards of glass cutting deep into her chest and stomach as she was dragged over the window sill. Her free hand managed to grip the window sill before it was too late, causing a fiery pain to explode from both of her shoulders and through the hand that was grasping the window, broken glass and all. Fortunately the hand that had caught Ichio's foot had not let go, but they were still in a bad situation.
"Geez, how many times do I have to save your sorry ass?" she spat angrily through gritted teeth. "You have some major issues you need to sort out if you're trying to kill your ex. Seriously, you should have dealt with all those issues before coming here."
Tahtsu aimlessly wandered around the teacher's dorm rooms. He had the intention of getting lost somewhere in this massive school. Having nowhere in particular to go, no one in particular to see, he decided wandering around. His sword was still slung on his back (as always). His shoes tapped on the tile floor lightly as he wandered.
Hearing screams and a loud commotion coming from one of the dorm rooms, he jogged down the hall and stared at the dorm room's door. Now, being a gentleman, he would have never entered a room on his own. But hearing the sound of another girl in pain, he pushed the door open, astonished.
There was a girl with bruises around her neck, standing. The window was shattered, and there was a hand, gripping for life hanging onto the windowsill. Rushing over to the window, he looked out and saw Rinsi, holding somebody by their foot.
"Miss Starlight!" he exclaimed as he reached for her wrist. Getting a solid grip on it, he pulled her high enough until he could grab onto her torso.
"Don't let him go, Miss Starlight," he said softly to her as he pulled her again.
Finally getting the boy up to the window, he grabbed onto his leg and tugged him back into the dorm room.
"Miss Starlight, are you okay? Are you hur-" his voice was cut off as he noticed all the wounds she had from the glass. "We should get you to the nurse, you as well," he said to the woman, Nakya, if he recalled.
"Yeah, I'm peachy." Rinsi said, a bit sarcastically. "I'll take care of the injuries. For now, Ichio here needs to be escorted to the principal's office, and a few phone calls need to be made."
Rinsi cringed in pain. Great. She had a cold, and now, once again, was badly injured. She had a large piece of glass jammed deep into her stomach, and she knew that removing it meant her blood gushing all over the place. She could heal the other wounds, but that one would be tricky. Holding a hand over some of the wounds in a fruitless effort to slow some of the bleeding, she walked up to Nakya to make sure she was ok. As the hand on her stomach began glowing, healing some of the wounds there, her other hand reached up to Nakya's neck. It, too, glowed brightly as it healed the bruises on her neck.
"Nakya, please go with Tahtsu and Ichio and explain everything to the principal."
Rinsi turned back to Tahtsu. She had almost forgotten to thank him for saving her life, and were it not for blood loss, she would have blushed. He seemed more and more like the knight in shining armor, especially now that he had saved the damsel in distress.
"Thank you, Tahtsu. I owe you my life."
Tahtsu reached for Rinsi's hand, and grabbing it, he lifted it up and kissed it softly.
"Be well, Miss," he said under his breath as he walked over to the boy's limp body.
Assuming the boy was too weak to walk himself to the principal's he quickly picked up his body and slung him over one of his shoulders. Gesturing to the woman who had been bruised, he waited for her to walk out the door. After she did, he followed her out and began walking down towards the office, hoping he'd be able to find it.
Rinsi's face gained a little color when he kissed her hand again. He was such a gentleman, even in such a dire situation. Could he be for real? Or was she dreaming? She thought she was dreaming. That was, until the hand on her stomach shifted and brushed against the large chunk of glass that was embedded into her abdomen, sending a wave of sheer pain through her body. She cringed and bit back a scream as she realized she was not dreaming. She really was badly injured, she really had been saved by Tahtsu, and he really had kissed her hand and wished her well.
Her other cuts, as deep as they were, were considered in the safe zone. They weren't bleeding any more, but neither were they healed. Until they were, she'd have to play it safe and keep away from strenuous exercise. However, she had not started on the one with the glass yet, and it was pouring blood all over the place. She didn't want to risk bleeding all over the halls, and possibly passing out in the hall due to blood loss on the way to the infirmary, so she carefully made her way to Ichio's bathroom. She knew she had to hurry. Her vision was beginning to blur, and she was feeling so weak that she wasn't sure if she'd be able to seal the wound.
After stepping into the bath tub and pulling the curtain so she wouldn't make too much of a mess, Rinsi grabbed the glass that was in her stomach. She removed the belt from her pants and placed it between her teeth so she would have something to bite down on. She yanked on the glass, while simultaneously biting down hard on her belt, biting back the agonizing pain in her stomach as the glass slid out and stomach acids began to burn her insides, all while blood practically sprayed from her stomach. She clenched her hand over the wound, her hand glowing brighter than ever as she attempted to seal up the artery that had been severed and close up the hole in her stomach. She watched in satisfaction as the blood flow slowed to an ooze and the fiery pain began to ebb just as her vision did. She just hoped that her strength would hold out enough for her to seal the wound more before passing out, or she could be in serious trouble. As if she weren't already.
Ichio came close to consciousness as Tahtsu picked him up, his body unable to move. There was still blood dripping lazily from his arms, and his back was scratched and battered from his fall through the window, though the wounds were not serious. He remembered little of his episode, instead remembering a time before life became complicated. Running through the fields alongside his mother and father, eating lunch on a hillside. As he remembered, he realized that none of the memories were really his. His eyes flew open as Tahtsu carried him down the hall. Shoving against his carrier, he rolled back, coming to his feet unsteadily as his head swam from blood flow to his toes.
"It's all a lie, isn't it?" He asked, backing up from the man in front of him.
Tahtsu looked at the boy, stunned that he could even stand on his own.
"Is what all a lie? I'm sure whatever it is, it could not all be a lie," he said softly to the boy. "You need to lie down, you're in pain and wounded. Let's just get you to the nurses office," he tried to calm him down.
Tahtsu was never particularly good in these kinds of situations, but frankly, he just had to do his best and make what he could of it.
Ichio shook his head back and forth, giggling a bit.
"Everything that's happened. It's all her fault. It's her fault, and she leaves me to take care of everything. But I don't really exist, do I? I'm just part of her. Of that B****." He spat the word out, backing up a bit farther.
"She did this to me, she tried to kill me just like she did mother and father, didn't she?" He laughed crazily.
"And I let her get away with it all, let her blame me for everything." He snapped back to seriousness, his face turning pale from blood loss.
"And I don't even exist. Sure, this body does. But I don't. I'm just her, some crazed, twisted form of her. And it makes me sick. These wounds are hers, but hers are not mine."
He babbled, backing down the hall farther and farther. He was staring at his hands, his pupils turning white. The only thing he could see was the blood. So much red.
"She's taking everything from me. Even myself." He looked back to Tahtsu, and whispered. "She's stealing my eyes. The color of the world. It's fading. Please.... Help me... Someone.... Make her stop..."
Yumi was fighting with every fiber of her being for control. She kicked and screamed, and made no attempt to try and talk to him. She just wanted him gone.
Having no idea of what was going on with Ichio, Tahtsu looked at him in dispair.
"If you do not believe she should...take over...be strong enough to not let her. But I saw what you did to that girl...Nakya. Keep yourself strong, but only if..." he paused as he thought about what to say. "Only if you can control yourself as well," he sighed softly. He felt so helpless.
Nakya listened to Ichio laugh as she began to black out from the pain. What happened next was all blur. There was Rinsi, shattering glass, Ichio falling, Rinsi catching him.. She became lost in her thoughts, her eyes wide with fear, as Rinsi healed her. She was only pulled out of it when she heard Tahtsu telling her to go with him. Walking into the hall, she followed them silently, her body trembling, her eyes still wide. Her neck was still sore even though Rinsi had healed her bruises. Every now and then, she stole a quick glance at Ichio. When he pushed off Tahtsu, Nakya flinched and tried to scream. It came out as nothing more than a whisper. Quickly moving backwards, she heard the words coming out of his mouth. It wasn't true, everything he was saying.
Unable to be near him any longer, Nakya took off running through the halls. She didn't know where she was going, she just needed to get away. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks as she ran. Running past the cafeteria, her feet loud footsteps on the otherwise silent floor, she pushed open the front doors and continued running. As she made it to the middle of the training field, her body collapsed out of sheer exhaustion. She closed her eyes and the events that had just taken place flashed before her eyes. Curling into a ball, she began rocking back and the forth. The last sane thought to roll through her head was
'At least I'm wearing my jacket..'
As Rinsi's consciousness faded, she couldn't help but wonder where Mooney was.
I hope his absence means he's getting help. Rinsi thought as things faded around her, Otherwise I might not make it out of here any time soon.
Rinsi was fighting as hard as she could for consciousness, in order to keep healing herself, but it was a losing battle. The wounds in her stomach were just barely closed. Too much jostling and they could easily open and she would bleed to death. She had to heal it more so she could at least get herself to the infirmary, but consciousness was fading too quickly for that. In spite of her fight, light faded into darkness as she passed out in the bath tub covered in her blood, which was now quickly congealing.
Rinsi's questioning had been right. The little black cat that followed her like her shadow had indeed run off for help. When it saw Tahtsu, he thought his master would be fine. But when Tahtsu left and the little cat saw his master remove a large piece of something shiny and sharp, causing his master's blood to practically spray all over the place, the little cat ran. It ran looking for someone - anyone - who could help his master. It ran until it saw Tahtsu and Ichio talking in the hall, and ran up to Tahtsu, meowing loudly.
Noticing the cat meowing at his feet, Tahtsu just shrugged it off at first. He figured it was just an obnoxious cat craving attention. As it kept meowing, louder, and louder. Finally, Tahtsu looked down at the feline.
"What?" he asked rather flatly to the creature.
As if to get his complete attention, Mooney bit down on the hem of Tahtsu's pants and began tugging on it, as if to say, 'Follow me! Hurry!'.
Growling softly under his breath at the feline, he looked at the boy and sighed.
"This better be important..." he mumbled as he followed it down the hall to Ichio's room.
It raced into the bathroom and clawed at the bathtub. Seeing her bleeding, he quickly knelt down and grabbed her free hand.
"Miss Starlight! Miss Starlight!" he said as he stroked her hair, "Stay away, stay awake," he cooed to her.
Mooney jumped into the tub and curled up on Rinsi's lap as she lay in the tub unconscious. He pawed at her stomach softly, as if to say the wounds were patched, but he had to be careful or he would re-open them. Mooney meowed again, this time woefully. He was worried about his master. Even for being a cat he knew that was a lot of blood to lose.
"Rinsi...Rinsi!" he called louder.
He gnawed at his lip. He didn't want to move her, considering her injuries. But she needed help. He stood up and began rummaging through the bathroom cabinets. Finding a wrap of gauze, he carefully wrapped it around Rinsi's torso. He pulled it tight, hoping to restrict blood loss. Carefully and delicately, he lifted her up into his arms, cradling her in his arms like one would carry and infant.
In spite of her unconsciousness, Rinsi felt a distinct feeling of warmth. It was not unpleasant, like the summer days, nor was it creepy, like the warmth she felt from her own blood spilling all over. It was comforting and for some reason, she felt safe. She tried desperately to wake up and see what the source of this warmth was, but her body wouldn't let her. At the moment, she couldn't even flinch an eye brow.
Mooney looked up at Tahtsu from Rinsi's lap and meowed at him as if to say, 'Thank you'.
"Geez, how many times do I have to save your sorry ass?" she spat angrily through gritted teeth. "You have some major issues you need to sort out if you're trying to kill your ex. Seriously, you should have dealt with all those issues before coming here."
