The Insanity Clause
Insanity's definition is doing something over and over again the exact same way and expecting different results.
I know this. I know this very well and personally. I will commit the murders over and over until it is different. The feeling.
It's like slow moving oil begins to fill my insides until I am moving in a pool of doubt. My ears ring and my vision begins to fade. My muscles twitch with excitement every time we come upon a body. My breathing grows hectic, no longer can I control its rate.
They think I am frightened.
They . . . assume that since I am younger than they that I am afraid. They tell me to not fear, that they will catch whoever did this and bring them to justice.
What fools.
No one knows who really does these terrible things and I can't wait. I can't wait until the day they realize who has done the murders. Killed the women, beaten the children until they can't speak.
I love their expressions when they see me come up with the group who is supposed to save them, to catch their serial killer.
I wonder, fondly most of the time, what they would say and do if they knew who committed the murders. If they knew that one of their own, someone with which they had eaten, slept, and fought beside, was a sadistic murderer.
Of course I wouldn't but one could dream. My dreams are simple really; I go to camp and see one of my companions alone. I haven't killed in days so the compulsion overwhelms me.
I always awake at the moment when their horror is enshrined into their dead faces.
What fun.
I know that as long as I only drop little clues every now and then, not to often as to arouse suspicion but enough to tell what I want, my game will continue forever.
After all, a demon's life is infinite.
