I woke up with a migraine echoing through the thick walls of my head. I opened my eyes and didn't see a thing it was as dark as when my eyes were closed. I quickly tried to yank my arms up but they were stopped by something hard wrapped around them, I could feel it scratch more skin off and the blood trickle down my arm then the little droplets splatter to the ground. I was tied to what I thought was a chair just a guess since I couldn't see anything. My head dropped down letting my chin land on my chest. I drifted in and out of sleep not knowing if my eyes were opened or closed from the darkness.

I heard a click then a second later a light flashed on burning my eyes. I let them close for a couple seconds then opened them again only to see a face down looking at my wrists which I now saw were bound by metal clamps. A boy walked into the room the only thing I could see on his body was his abnormally red hair it was like your normal red hair it was more so like a fire hydrant red. He kept his head down getting down on one knee in front of me he touched my hand; instinctively I jerked my arm, the metal digging deeper into my wrist I cringed letting out a rush of air.

He looked up at my face while I studied his; Pale skin with blue eyes. After another moment he turned his head away looking back down at the metal that bound my hands. “I'm going to unlock the cuffs, but before I do so I need you to promise me that you won't try to run away or scream and that you'll just follow my instructions” he said looking back up at my face. I already knew that it was impossible to run; I nodded my head in agreement. “This might sting a bit” he said then unlatched them both at the same time. I clenched my teeth together then pulled both my wrists up to look at them, they were both covered in clumber up dried blood, still wet blood and blood that was now oozing from them both.

He reached his hand down to me “Let's go” he said. I reached my hand up slowly and grabbed hold of his helping me out of the chair. The room rushed to hit me and I felt myself falling forward. “Let's not fall down” he said putting one hand on my waist and with the other he held my hand helping me walk. The rooms passed in a blur till we finally stopped in a room that held a group of people sitting and staring at the boy and I. All of them were men except for one girl that looked to be 12 sitting in the middle, they're eyes all switched to me studying my face and body, while holding an eerie silence.

“What do we do with her?” Someone finally asked breaking the silence.

“Kill her!” someone shouted.

“Bait!” Someone else suggested, shouting began across the room they're faces holding frustration.

“No” someone's voice boomed above the rest “Do we want to be just like them?!” the man with silver hair spoke. Everyone quieted down to listen to him speak.

The little girl stood and looked at him “What do you suggest we do then Nikolas?” the girl asked.

“Keep her take her in” he answered.

“What!” someone yelled.

“Done” the girl said smiling.

“Who's going to take care of her?” Nikolas asked.

“But you of course Nikolas” the girl said “You wanted her to stay you can take care of her” she walked around towards the doors “that is all you may all return to your home now” she said and was out the door in a second.

Nikolas stood in front of me a disgusted look in his eyes “Adam clean her up then put her to bed, you'll be the one that takes care of her mostly” he said and then turned and walked to a door standing next to it he turned and looked at Adam “Give her a room next to yours” he said and walked out.

Adam sighed “Come along” he said turning us towards a door at the opposite end of the room. I concentrated on walking until we entered a different room. “Alright, now if you go through that door there's a shower take one then get out dry off and get dressed in the clothes I leave for you on the bed. Afterwards knock on your door three times and I'll come in and bandage up your arms. Do you understand?” he asked, I nodded “Okay then I'll come in when your done” he said and walked out of the room.

I decided that I'd check out around the house find out where everything is then make an escape plan afterwards. I walked into the bathroom and turned on the water; I slipped my clothes off and climbed into the water. It trickled down my body almost burning; pouring soap into my hands I began scrubbing the blood off my wrists. I squeezed my eyes shut and kept scrubbing till the old dried up clumped blood was gone and new blood was pouring out. I washed my body then my hair. Grabbing the towels I turned off the water then wrapped them tightly around me. I walked out and saw the pair of pajamas on the bed; I dried off and pulled them on. Blood trickled down my arm I quickly dabbed it with the towel then walked over to the door sleepily I knocked three times.

He quickly opened the door with a first aid kit in hand he smiled “let's get those wrists taken care of shall we?” he asked then walked me over to the bed “This may sting a little” he said then tapped my wrists with disinfectant, it did sting but I didn't move “So what's your name?” he asked, I didn't answer he stared at me for a moment then shrugged “I suppose I can understand why you're not feeling up to talking. You've just found out that you won't be aloud to leave, you'll never see your family again. It's probably hard” he said pressing Neosporin into the cuts “We'll, well I suppose I'll take good care of you” he said and smiled “You'll get used to it here” he said and wrapped both wrists in gauze. He stood and walked towards the door “Sleep well” he said turning and opening the door.

“My names Elizabeth, but I go by Juliet” I said standing.

He looked at me “Well Juliet it's nice to meet you, If you haven't caught on already my name is Adam” he said “I'll take you on a tour of the home tomorrow, sleep well” he said and walked out. I heard a clicking sound meaning he locked the door.

I laid my head on the pillow and fell into a deep sleep. I dreamt of darkness, every way I looked all I saw was black. No matter how far I ran I just kept running into darkness. I screamed at the top of my lungs I expected it to echo but instead it was swallowed by the darkness. I sat up fast entering into the light and let out a sigh, I went out of one nightmare and into another.

“Are you up yet?” Adam said peeking into the room “Jezz I thought you were going to sleep forever” he said and smiled at me, I stared at him “Let's get you into a pair of clothes” he said and walked over to a dresser that was across the room and pulled out a black dress that was at the top, I stared at the dress as he laid it in front of me “Well its all we have okay” he said “Change I'll be back in here in ten minutes” he said and walked out.

I let out a sigh and changed into the dress, I didn't mind that it was a dress only I hadn't worn a dress since the last time I went to a dance. I stood and twirled looking at myself in the mirror and then turned to see Adam smiling “So you do like it” he said “Alright I'm sorry to do this but I'm afraid I have to” he said and put a leash on my neck.

“What in the world are you doing?” I hissed.

He sighed “I really am sorry but until we can fully trust that you won't leave we're going to have to keep this on you, it has a small microchip in it so that we can know where you are at all times. And if you leave the premises we'll be able to leave because an alarm will go off” he said opening the door.

I walked out of the room him in front of me “Well let's get started” he said and went to the door next to us “This is my room, if you need anything just knock” he said and we walked further passing room after room “This is the ball room, eventually you'll come in here” he said “This door leads to the Rec room” he said and walked some more “And this is the Pool room” I didn't pay much more attention as we went through all the rooms. The house, which I soon found out was a castle, was huge. It held at least 25 rooms, not including the rooms that had to do with extra curricular. I did find out though that there was a library and a kitchen, the library was on the third floor there were thousands of books and a piano by a huge window. The kitchen was on the first floor he said I could go in there and cook whenever I felt like it. He said I could do anything I wanted s long as it didn't interrupt anyone else.

We came to two large doors “Time for my favorite part of the house, although it's outside” he said and smiled opening the doors. Light shined out and onto my skin, I walked out and saw dozens of flowers. They were all held in a huge glass room, there was a small trail leading to small benches and a fountain in the middle of everything. “During the winter we keep the room sealed so that it doesn't die, the glass protects all the flowers to make sure that none get too cold and die it also helps to give them light so they can grow” he said and sat down on a bench.

I sat on the grass then walked over sitting on the side of the fountain and touched the water. Adam sat down next to me “I hope you and I will be able to get along” he said and smiled “I'll try if you try” he said and put out a hand, I stared at it for a moment thinking.

“I'll try” I whispered and shook his hand, my stomach growled and I grabbed it feeling a slight pain.

He laughed “Sounds like someone's hungry, I don't doubt that you are too. You haven't eaten in two days” he said and stood helping me up “Let's test your memory, lead the way to the kitchen” He said. I pulled my hand out of his and walked ahead of him looking for the double doors. I found them and walked inside “Good job, your reward I'll cook you lunch” he said and opened the fridge it being empty.

I let out a sigh “Oh really” I said.

“Do you like Chinese food?” he asked scratching the back of his head and smiling. I nodded “I'll go get some” he said “Will you be alright here by yourself?” he asked.

“Yes” I answered.

“Don't run, there are things beyond the gates of this house that you won't be able to get past, and they will go after you. A fresh piece of meat is all that you'll be seen as in they're eyes” he said and shook his head “Just don't run” he said turning and walking out of the room.

I ran over to the door “What do you...” I began to say but he was gone. I walked into the hallway the door closing behind me with a loud slam it was right then that I realized how creepy this house was without anyone in it. Looking down one side of the hall then the other my eyes played tricks on me the shadows moving closer. “It's only Adam and I in the house, no one else. There isn't anything lurking in the shadows” I whispered and started walking towards the green room. I sat on a bench staring at the flowers; none of them moved there wasn't any wind to blow them around. After a while I walked over to the fountain again and looked inside the water had changed, instead of being the light blue color I had just seen earlier it now had a green tint to it.

There was a large rose bush of all sorts of colors. There were Red, Blue, Pink and even a purple color. I leaned down and smelled the flowers smiling at the delectable scent. I stood and walked over to the glass pressing my hand to it, it was freezing my hand left a hand print on the window then I leaned my face up against it. It cooled my forehead then I stared outwards into the light seeing nothing “You lie” I whispered to myself. I heard a high pitched scream that turned into a howl, my eyes widened “Maybe not” I said and turned to run inside, instead I ran directly into Adam. Running into him was like running into a brick wall. I saw stars and fell backwards onto the ground.

“Juliet are you alright?” Adam asked standing over me with Chinese in his hand.

I sat up a little rubbing the back of my head and my chest “What the hell are you made out of metal?” I asked “I'm going to need a pill in a little while” I whispered.

“Sorry” he said and pulled me up to my feet “I brought food” he said holding up 2 bags of Chinese “I've already eaten so this is all for you” he said smiling.

I stared at him for a moment “Do I look like I can eat all of that?” I asked.

He sighed “No of course not, but I forgot to ask you what you liked so I just guessed and got a couple things” he said and smiled at me “I'm hoping that I got at least one thing that you liked” he said.

“I'm hoping you did too” I answered and grabbed both the bags.

“Come on then to the kitchen” he said.

I looked around and nodded walking in the direction of the kitchen setting up the bags on a table. I opened all the lids and set out to find stuff that looked tasty. I piled up different stuff onto one plate and began to eat with chop sticks having a little bit of trouble. “Why don't you just use a fork?” he asked.

“That wouldn't be as much fun, I like using chop sticks” I said finally getting the hang of it again and eating noodles and rice.

He stared at me making a face “Those look far to confusing” he said picking up a pair and trying to use them.

I walked over to him and grabbed the sticks putting them in his fingers “Now just like move them” I said he moved them a little bit and they clamped onto a piece of chicken “Now you've got the hang of it” I said and sat back down taking a bite of pork.

“Adam, we've found another body and Nikolas would like you to join him and I in looking into the cause of death” I heard a familiar voice say behind me.

I turned around and couldn't believe my eyes I stood up fast “Mr. Ambers!” I nearly screamed.

“Juliet” He whispered staring at me.

“What are you doing here!” we both yelled.

“You two know each other?” Adam asked.
