Transcended Realms~Prologue

Commander's Log: September 23, 2013-Somewhere In The Bermuda Triangle

Today at precisely 1400 hours, I was contacted by General Iskins-and immediately given orders to dispatch to Hawks Peak, a remote island located within the Bermuda Triangle. Even before I hopped on the helicopter I knew something big was going down. General Iskins is head of the Military's Weaponry Research division-and never contacts anyone outside of his division unless something bad has happened. But, I have been begging for that upgrade in rank, so I headed there without question. As the helicopter approached the tiny island-it was evident that something had happened. The docks were all blocked off-and the radio communication was dead. As we flew closer, I began to panic. There was I gigantic hole where the roof of the research lab once was-and the outside perimeter was burnt to a crisp. At first I suspected a bombing, so I ordered the men in the helicopter to stay put as I jumped off and headed for the building. As I stood before the entrance to the compound, I gazed on with astonishment. The outer walls were completely melted-which was hard to believe since it took more than just regular fire to melt steel. As I examined the area it seemed to me like something deep within the building had violently exploded-but this puzzled me as not even a large explosion could inflict such horrific damage. As I ventured into the compound, I gasped in horror-as the bodies of all the researchers laid there motionless-totally dead. The compound ent 3 floors underground, so I pulled out my rifle and decided to investigate. The father I traveled down, the worse and more severe the damage became. Finally, I reached the utmost lowest level of the building. As I scaled down the stairs, I noticed a bright, blue light shining from just around the corner. I was intrigued-seeing as how all the power to the building had been shut off. What I saw before me I shall never forget. As I turned the corner, floating in mid-air in the middle of the room, was a shining, swirling blue object, that appeared as one of those portals you would find in a science fiction movie. Not knowing what the hell this thing was, I sprinted back to the helicopter, and called for back up.

Commander's Log: September 25, 2013-Hawks Peak

This has without a doubt been the two most frightening, and exciting days of my entire life. The nations top scientists have been examining and tinkering with the Wormhole, as they call it, for hours upon end. And what they reported back to us was something out of a fairy tale. They reported to us, that the wormhole was in fact a connection-a transporter to an alternate dimension. The scientists had even sent a bot into the wormhole to record footage. When they showed the video to all of us, we thought we were dreaming. The footage showed a street-very similar to those of our universe. Stores, lights, and traffic lights all normal. Except for the fact, that there were real-live actual animals walking around. And these were no garden variety animals. Shockingly-they were anthropomorphic! Wearing clothes, speaking English just as you and I would! Now we all realized that this was no laughing matter. Somehow, someway, the researchers on this island had created a Portal to another universe not like our own. But the General is very concerned about the whole ordeal. He has ordered everyone to not tell a soul about what they had just witnessed. He says that making something like this public would only raise mass confusion and chaos amongst the common people. But as the other Commanders proceeded to leave, General Iskins stopped, and pulled me aside. I was shocked to learn that he is putting me in charge of this whole “Portal” incident. The General explained to me, that he wants me to find a way to “Test”-whether or not these anthropomorphic animals in the Portal would be open to human interaction. And-he promised me that if I succeeded in my mission, that I would be upgraded to a 5-Star General. And there was no way that I was going to turn down an offer such as that. So the General left me be, and at last I had some time to myself to think out a plan. I figured that simply using bots wouldn't help to see if the “Furries” as I am now dubbing them, would accept human beings. So, I came to the realization that I needed a human test subject to find out. But the only question was, who? I couldn't simply snatch someone randomly, they would be reported missing, and then people would begin asking questions, way too risky. I needed someone who….who basically was a nobody. Someone who if was missing, no one would notice or care. So, I sat down at my computer, and started researching orphanages….
