Prologue: 1st Encounter
All was still in the valley. Mist had drifted in from the sea nearby and was clinging tightly to the mountains. Birds twittered uncertainly in the foggy damp, and the clouds ever so silently hid the sun. A young girl came running down a slope; Fell head over heels, tumbled down the moss covered rocks, and picked herself up again. She stopped suddenly when she reached the bottom and listened closely before running towards a group of fir trees at the foot of the highest mountain.
It was so extremely dark under the trees that she could scarcely see the gaping crevice in the mountainside that swallowed up the mist. The girl glanced around warily again, and headed towards the opening of the mountain, but she didn't get far before a pair of large sharp teeth pierced into the soft flesh of her arm. She let out a horrid screech and fell to the ground in utter agony. She glanced over slightly and stared at the group of ravenous mountain lions with tear glazed eyes.
The girl tried hard to concentrate on a way to get loose from the murderous lion's grip but before she could, one of the other lions jumped on top of her. Its weight driving away both her focus and her breath; leaving her limp. She tried to struggle free, but its sheer size made it virtually impossible. She let out a panicked high-pitched scream and then suddenly all pain was gone from her just as swift as it had come. One moment she was pinned down between 2 mountain lions, Its drool dripping from its mouth and drenching her cheek and next it was gone within a second.
The girl just laid there, her body left lifeless, her eyes half closed, and her soul slowly leaving her. The last thing she saw before her mind started to drift away was a pair of Dark Blue eyes the color of the unforgiving night sky glaring down at her and into her very being. The moment right before she completely blanked out into unconsciousness She heard a very faint voice say her name “….Lure……”
