Chapter One:
Cauldron Cookies
On the morning of Halloween Ami woke with the rising sun and pulled herself from the blankets at the foot of her large, flower covered tree. She stepped gingerly so she wouldn’t tread on any flowers that were scattered over the soft dew dropped grass in her room. She yawned tiredly and rubbed her eyes while stumbling over the longer than need be legs of her pajama bottoms all the way to the rubber duckie invaded bathroom.Disclaimer: I do not own Halloween, I don’t own Ami, or Sapph, or Katy. I don’t own a cauldron or self mixing spoon and bowl. And I don’t own a padlock either. But the idea for the story is mine and I do own me.

Chapter One:
Cauldron Cookies
She stopped in front of the mirror to briefly check her reflection ((just incase it had decided to run away that night)) and found it exactly where she had left it last. In her sleepy haze she frowned slightly at the way her pointed ears suck out from her thick purple hair and her fairy wings fluttered about behind her. She walked towards the shower wondering if it was okay to get her wings wet.
A second later she was back in front of the mirror and starting at herself in utter shock. A moment passed with her staring at herself in sheer surprise before she touched on of her ears just to be sure her reflection wasn’t playing tricks on her. Yep, her ear was all pointy alright.
She screamed, a mixture of surprise and glee, as well as a good portion of just being totally freaked out.
Barely a few moments later Nancy came bursting into the room and promptly screamed herself in surprise at what she saw. Ami’s scream joined hers and she pointed at Nancy with a shaking finger. Nancy reached up to see what was on her head and she felt a pair of soft fuzzy ears.
“I don’t understand! I wasn’t a doggy when I went to bed! What the fuck!?” Nancy said, freaking out as she tugged on her doggy ears. Ami shook her head in confusion as she felt her own ears.
“Maybe we’re sleeping?” Ami said and pinched her arm. Nancy smacked herself in the forehead and winced.
“No, we’re awake. But I don’t see how we can be. How’s this even possible?” Nancy said, her tail nervously wagging back and forth. Ami was quiet as Nancy looked to see her tail poking out from under her pajama top.
“Maybe it’s not just us.... Let’s go see Sapph and Katy,” Ami said. Nancy nodded and they both rushed out of the bathroom. Upstairs it looked something like an indoor forest, but it was very bright and airy, yet strangely it seemed so normal and natural that neither of them thought very much as they descended the stairs to check on Sapph and Katy.
About halfway down they both noticed how dark it was at the foot of the stair. There was a strange glowing red light and the floor was covered in mist. Overall it was very creepy. Nancy and Ami looked at one another and gulped.
They stepped down onto the mist covered floor and Ami turned towards Katy’s room, looking very hesitant about the spider webbed passage.
“Wait!” Nancy said. She raised her chin and sniffed the air. “I smell cookie dough... Sapph must be in the kitchen!”
Ami nodded and eyed the dark passage that used to be a hallway. “Yeah, we can wait to check on Katy for now.”
“This is kinda cool! Let’s see what Sapph turned into first!” Nancy said excitedly. ((Though to be honest she just wanted some cookie dough)) They sped off to the kitchen where they found Sapph using pumpkin and kitty shaped cutters to make Halloween cookies.
Both stared in awe at Sapph as she leaned over the counter, hovering a few inches off the floor as a cauldron bubbled behind her where the stove used to be. She looked at them from under the brim of her pointed hat and smiled brightly.
“Hey! Wanna help?” She asked before turning and tossing the newly cut dough into the cauldron. Nancy rushed over to see how the cookies could possibly bake in a cauldron and Ami blinked in surprise.
“Sapph, you didn’t happen to notice anything... weird this morning did you?” Ami asked eyeing a shelf of strange looking ingredients nearby.
“Well the stove is a cauldron. And I’m floating. But as weird as this is.. I can’t say, other than the initial shock, that I’m too uncomfortable. And my cookies are turning out really well.” A few cookies shot out of the cauldron and a cooling rack came flying around to catch them. Nancy followed after them licking her lips in anticipation.
“Have you seen Katy?” Ami asked as more cookies shot out of the cauldron and another cooling rack went flying by. Sapph shook her head and gestured towards a spoon that began to stir in it’s mixing bowl while she pointed at ingredients to make them glide over and land in the bowl in turn.
“No, I was gonna go sneak a peak at her, but when I got to her room the door was locked. And not just locked but kinda barricaded, from the outside. I didn’t know she even had a padlock on her door.” Sapph murmured and Ami looked around to where Nancy had stopped in mid munch on a pumpkin cookie that oozed pumpkin filling as she bit into it. ((Wonder what the kitty cookies ooze?))
“Stay here and watch the cauldron could you?”Ami asked. Nancy frowned slightly, her tail drooping, but she nodded. “I’m going to check out Katy’s room. Sapph, could you come too?”
“Of course.” Sapph lowered to the floor and the spoon stopped mixing in it’s bowl. Ami led the way out of the kitchen and back towards the spider webbed passage to Katy’s room. The passage was much darker than the rest of the first floor, the glowing light was severely dimmed and Ami constantly ran into spider threads as they crept along.
“We could use more light.” Sapph said. Ami nodded and suddenly a soft light surrounded her, illuminating the area directly around them and shining off of the spider webs. “You glow in the dark!” Sapph said excitedly, her eyes wide in wonder. Ami looked down at her glowing hands and shrugged.
“I guess I have fairy light. I wonder what else I can do?” She looked back to Sapph who grinned and stepped forwards past her.
“The door isn’t too much ahead of us. Come on.” Ami nodded and followed her through the winding passage, her fairy light illuminating the darkness around them.
Soon they came upon a large metal door. Sapph’s description of the door being barricaded seemed right on as the door had so many different locks it seemed impossible to get through. But the largest of these locks was a padlock the size of her head with a keyhole the size of her eye. ((it was very badly proportioned)) It also seemed to be the only lock that needed a key.
Ami crouched down and looked at the key hole in the padlock and frowned. “We need the key.” she said softly. Sapph looked around and shook her head.
“I don’t know where it could be. How do you suppose she even locked herself in there like that?” Sapph asked. “It’s impossible right? But none of us locked her in there. And our rooms weren’t locked shut.”
“I don’t know. Maybe, whoever turned us into what we are now turned Katy into something really dangerous. And she had to be locked up.”
“Well we have to get her out of there.” Sapph said frowning at the metal door. Ami nodded and stood, brushing off her pajama bottoms. “Lets go back to the kitchen.”
