I am a creature of the night born into a corrupted society where humans are forced to serve against there will. I have served under the King and Queen of the Vampire Nation, I'm captain of the guard and my name is Shaun Willcrest, as you can guess I am a vampire.
“Captain, you have been summoned to appear in front of His highness and her majesty.” I looked at the human messenger with an utter discontent as he was bound in chains like a common dog.
“Very well,” I responded and just as he blinded I disappeared from his sight. As I headed the throne room I was deep in thought on the matters of the human and how we as people mistreat them so, unaware the throne was quickly coming to view. The ominous doors were a thick oak, reaching up to the ceiling. I stood in front of them as they slowly creaked open; sprites pushing against them. I sometimes do not understand how, even in death, they still must serve us still.
“I was summoned you highnesses?” I approached them as the king rose to his feet. I was a few feet way as I stop and kneeled, bowing my head in respect of his majesty. “Rise captain.” I did as he commanded. “I indeed have summoned you to rise to the call of the nation.” He spoke, as her highness glanced in my direction with enchanting eyes.
“And what call would that be m'lord?” I raise my head, knowing no one has ever reused an order of the nation in the years I have served. The king sensed his wife's overpowering emotions, so he cleared his throat. She quickly regains her senses, “The call of armors to protect our people. Go to the mountains and seek out the human rebels.” I rose to my feet, “Your highness the human resistance is no match for your military. We could wipe them out easily.” Trying to make a point, but looking into his eyes, knowing my words had no effect in changing his mind.
“Nevertheless, seek them out and destroy them so our military will not have to sacrifice resources towards fighting them.” I was hesitant to answer, but in the end I responded bowing to him, “As you wish you majesty.” He was pleased, “Good, now we want you to assemble a team and stop them before they even start to advance in our direction. Good luck to you caption and return safely.”
I bowed again as turn and left the throne room. “Oh and Captain.” I came to a complete halt as I hear king call for me. “Yes m'lord?” I answered. “I would like you to bring information on other resistance groups that maybe trying to destroy the harmony of our people.” I turned and bowed again saying, “Yes, m'lord.” As the doors open again and I walk out of the throne room wish this assignment was placed on someone else. I strolled down the corridors think of the team I am to assemble. I hear some good things about a few clan members who ranked higher than the rest, so I searched for them in hopes that they are as good as the reputation says they are. “Ladies and Gentlemen I have chosen you to follow under my command on a special mission that has been assigned to me.” I paused looking at the team I have created. “Sir, what is the mission?” one of the crewmen asked.
“It was ordered by the king and queen to find and eliminate the human resistance. Now if anyone has a problem with this feel free to leave now.” Not a single one moved an inch. “Good, now state your name and rank.” The first to step you and salute was, “Kevin Norfolk's, commander of steal unit sir.” Next in line was, “Jaylene Korven, Weapons specialist sir.'' After her it was, “Randy Wilcourt, Special enforcer sir.”
I moved on down the line, “Heather Del, black ops unit sir.” I walked down back to the other end, “Excellent, I heard very good things about each and every one of you and this is why I have summoned you to follow me in this mission. Each of your talents and skills shall be very helpful to me in this upcoming event and remember people failure is not an option.”
As I continued talking, I heard Kevin talking to Jaylene. “Who is this guy?” She had to restrain herself from busting out into laughter as she responds, “He is one of the highest ranking officers in our fleet. He's Captain of the guard Shaun Wilcrest. He only takes orders from the King and Queen directly and also he is one of the few who control the whole military. Some say he's getting ready for ascension.” Kevin looked towards me, “I doubt it. There has been an ascension it centuries.” Without turning around, I say to them, “Thanks for the kind works Commander Korven and Commander Norfolk if you have questions I would prefer you ask them to me directly if you don't mind.”
For a second I thought he was sweating bullets, but he responded, “Sir Yes sir.” Going into attention. “Alright we move out tomorrow night I suggest you get some rest, we've got a big day ahead. Dismissed.” Everyone had left and I went back to see the king and queen. The doors had creaked up once more as I walked back to the same place I was earlier, “My lord, I have assembled a team together and we are ready to proceed with the mission.” I bowed my head to him. “Excellent caption we are excepting good news from you when this is all over, now raise my captain and go prepare for what allies ahead.” He had ordered. I bowed and took my leave. I again look at the spirits and felt pity to them thinking on what lays ahead for the humans that dare challenge us. The night has come to us quickly and my team was prepared waiting for me at the front gate.
“Alright people we know what we must do, so let's get it done. Let's move!” We left the compound in blinding speeds in a triangular formation. At this speed we should be at the mountain tomorrow morning. It was mostly an open field between us and the mountains, there was nothing out here we couldn't handle.
With the journey ahead and the formation we were in, Heather and Kevin to my left and with me in the middle which placed Jaylene and Randy to the right of me. It had been a few hours and the sun was beginning to rise, as the heat was becoming intents and soon after the sunstones come into effected. The sunstones protect us from the Ultra Violate rays that would instantly kill us. They were created over six centuries ago by powerful sorcerers who were wise in many things even in our existence, but they need out unique abilities to obtain something they needed and in exchange was the necessary tool to create and use these sunstone as we call them.
We have slowed down to the fact we were hit by the suns first light before the stones had activated. About little over mid-day we reached the base of the mountains. The winds from the mountains rushed down passed us as I begin to think how nice it would have been to be able to coolness of the air again. I take a deep breath to at least taking in the pureness of the air.
“Alright everyone, this will be a seek and destroy mission. Korven and Norfolks you two go east, as for Del and Willcourt go west. When you find something report immediately. Is that clear?” Without hesitation they responded, “Sir Yes sir!” Impressed with coordination they shown I then order then to move out and they were gone in an instant.
I went straight up the mountain side to see if I can get better advantage point to see what were dealing with as far as there military tactics stand point. I finally got to a high point and not able to get an advantage, so I used it as a command point. “Captain, Wilcourt and I have found an entrance into the mountain shall we proceed?” I found the location they were in and I responded, “No, do not advance until I arrive understood?” She answered and did as she was ordered to do. I wasted no time getting down the mountain to meet up with them. “Report.” I commanded. She began telling me that she and Randy had found an opening with a strange text written above the entrance.
Lucky Heather study languages and told us what the text meant, throughout the cave was filled with traps. “Alright well we need to come up with a plan…Korven come in.” As soon as my mouth had close Jaylene and Kevin had come from around the corner drag a beaten body. “Were right here sir, we've tried to integrate this one, but is no willing to talk.” Then, Jaylene had slung him in front of me. “Tell me human, what lies within this cave?” He remains silent. “There is no need to die needlessly, I encourage you to speak.” He still remains quite. “Very well, Rest in peace.” I had walked away from him as Kevin walked up and sinks his teeth into his neck his life force spraying everywhere sending Kevin into a bloodlust. “Enough soldier.” I commanded. Kevin quickly released his grasp upon him. “Sir, I know where the traps lay and how to avoid them altogether.” He announced clean the blood from his mouth.
