Chapter Four
I woke up the next morning to a very frantic family. I got out of bed and went down the stairs to see why everybody kept yelling Victoria's name.
"Alanna, have you seen Viccy?" Dora asked, worry apparent in her voice.
"Yea. Yesterday, three and a half hours before Aunt Lia got here." I said in my please-tell-me-you-didn't-wake-me-up-for-this voice. A look of confusion chased its way across Dora's face.
"Are you kidding me? You really don't remember where she is?" I asked. I couldn't believe it. Of course I knew where she was. Why didn't she?
"Alanna, where is Victoria?" Dora asked.
"Dora, she went to her friends house to stay for three days, remember?" I said, Dora's face suddenly turned back to its normal smiley self.
"Of course. I can't believe I forgot about that. I had better go tell your father." Dora said turning to leave the room.
"Hey Dora, maybe you should change your name to Dori. It would definitely match your personality." I said.
"Are you saying that I have the memory of a blue fish with a memory problem?"
"Pretty much." I said seriously. I had to bite back my smile. Dora began to laugh, and I couldn't stop myself. I began to laugh with her. It wasn't even that funny. I have this thing where when I hear somebody else laugh, I can't help but to join in. It's just the way I am.
"Okay, Al, I'm gonna go find your father. You'd better go put some clothes on before that friend of Robby's gets here. Unless, of course, you want him to see you in nothing but a tank top and short shorts." She said leaving the room.
I decided that going to change would be a really good idea, so I started back up teh stairs. Unfortunately, I ran into my future uncle, literally.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going! Sorry!" I said as I ran up the stairs and into my room. I didn't have a crush on Conner or anything, but he was hot and I wasn't dressed. Do you see my problem? Well, for the unfortuanate people that don't, my problem is that I don't want any guy, especially not a hot guy to see me in a tank top and barely existent shorts. When I finally decided that my face had cooled down enough to go outside of my room, I went down the stairs to call Charity. She was over in a matter of minutes.
"Dora, Dad, I'm Home!" Charity yelled as she walked through the door.
"Hey there sis, how's it goin'?" I asked giving her a hug.
"You and Chase finally got married? Yay!" She said hugging me back. I elbowed her in the ribs.
"That is not even funny! You should have seen what he put in my hair!" I said.
"He put something in your hair?" Charity asked.
"Yea! It was supposed to be pancake batter, but it's contents were very questionable."
"I'm not going to ask in order to insure my own safety."
"That would be very wise. Oh and Robby any your 'Haydie-waydie' were in on it, too."
"Who would have guessed?" Charity said srcastically.
"Was it worse than the ice cream, cherries, chocalate syrup, and whipped cream fight that me, you, and Vence had." She asked, bringing up something that just should have stayed gone.
"Cherry, I don't know of anything that could beat that." I said laughing. I'm not going to share on that particular moment. It was horrible, I try not to bring it up as much as possible. I was cleaning chocolate syrup up for weeks.
"That was so wasteful of us. I think I nearly starved to death from not eating anything while I was morning the death of the mint chocolate chip ice cream." Charity said, flicking away a fake tear.
"Cherry, we couldn't keep you away from food with a crow bar." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Are you calling me fat?" She asked, hands on hips.
"No. I'm saying that you eat more than the average...the average...well anything. On Animal Planet's Most Extreme, if they did an episode for most extreme eater, I promise you would have a species all your own, and you would be number one."
"Hey! I'm offended by that!"
"Don't be. You're the friggin' size of a twig."
The whole time we were having this conversation, we were walking up to my room. That's where we stayed until we were called down to start movie night.
"Okay, each group gets to pick a movie that they want to watch. This time Charity and Alanna are in charge of getting the food so everybody pick what you want to eat, and Elizabeth and David are in charge of going to get the movies that we pick. You have to choose atleast three movies, just in case Blockbuster doesn't have your first choice. List them in order going from most wanted to least wanted. Robby and Hayden are gonna drive Alanna and Charity to the store.
After giving Coach and her new boyfriend our movie lists, Robby, Hayden, Charity, and I all got into Robby's car and went to the store. We played rock-paper-scissors to see who would have to carry the food in. Charity and I won. We ran into the house before the boys even got out of the car. A few minutes later the boys packed in twelve bags with nothing but junk food in them. The look on the cashier's face had been priceless. We had enough junk food to feed an army. It probably wouldn't even be enough. Robby was our human garbage disposal. He would eat anything. So whenever there was food, he would eat it like a vacumn sucks up a pile of dust.
Our (1)FMN ended at 3 a.m. Everybody managed to stay awake, but I'm almost positive that when we all made it to our rooms, we were dead asleep. I know I was. Coach and David shared one of the guest rooms and Aunt Lia and Conner shared the other. Dad and Dora were in their room, Hayden and Robby were in Robby's room, and Carity and I were in my room.
I don't think anybody woke up until 12:00 the next day. We were all still tired. Well, all of us except Aunt Lia. She and Conner left about an hour after nearly everybody woke up. Conner was still slightly dragging his feet, but Aunt Lia was up and ready to go. She wasn't all that eager to leave, but she had wedding plans to make.
Charity was picked up at 3:00 and Hayden left at 3:30. Coach adn David didn't even wake up until around 4:00, but when they did they had to go home. My mom lived in another city so she had to go or she wouldn't get home until late. She hugged Robby, Dora, and me and said goodbye to Dad before she left. It was weird. Most people are all mad and fighting all of the time after a divorce, but Coach and Dad aren't like that. They're still friends. In fact, Dad met Dora because Coach brought her to FMN with her one time. So she didn't even dislike Dora.
I was glad, because I love both of my parents, so if I had had to choose, it would have killed me. After all of our guests had left, Victoria was dropped off and she had to tell us every little event that occured at the party. I was so tired from staying up the night before, that I went to sleep at like 9:15 that night.
The next day, I woke up and changed clothes before I went down stairs. I am so glad I did, too. When I walked into the kitchen to find something to eat, the dumbest creature alive was sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal. He was facing so that he couldn't see anything except for the wall. I walked over to the refridgerator as quietly as I could and Opened the freezer side. I got some ice out of the ice maker, I took it out of the tray instea of using the noisy button, and I walked over to the island. I threw a piece of ice at his head and then ducked so that he couldn't see me. With satisfaction I heard him yelp and turn around in his seat to yell at who ever had thrown it at him. The only problem was that there wasn't anybody there. He just turned back around and continued eating. My hand was freezing, so I decided to throw another piece, but when I stood up something silve rcame flying at my head. I yelped and ducked, barely moving in time. The spoon slattered to the floor and skittered to a stop under the edge of the counter behind me.
I tore my eyes from the spoon to look at the person that had thrown it. Chase just stood there smirking. Uh-oh. I dropped my last piece of ice and ran for it. Unforunately, he was closer to the door than I was, plus, he was faster. he tackled me to the ground and sat on top of me. That boy was heavy. There was absolutely no way that I was going anywhere. He did the one thing that would make me completely unable to fight. He started tickling me.
"STOP! STOP! I'll do ANYTHING I promise, just STOP!" I got out in gasps, tears streaming down my face. I was laughing so hard that it hurt. Luckily for me, he stopped.
"Okay, then you have to kiss me," seeing the look on my face he added, "Or, I could start tickling you again, your choice."
I hadnt even thought of that when I had said anything. Not that it mattered, cause he didn't even give me a chance to answer him. He leaned down and kissed me anyways. I knew if I didn't do something, I would be on the floor all day. I looked around and spotted a very useful piece of solid water, otherwise known as ice. I reached out and picked it up before closing my eyes and kissing Chase back. I pretended to be putting my hand on his back, inside of his shirt, and subtely opened my hand and let the ice fall down his back. With a yelp, he broke the kiss and started trying to get at the ice that was still in his shirt. I took this opportunity to throw him off and run into my room. When I got in there all I could thnk was, Oh my God! That was my first kiss!
