Food… Water… Gonna die… Someone… Help me… Sasha lay on the side of the empty road, starving and near death. He had been traveling for days upon weeks, trying to find a home that would accept him. After traveling to so many places he decided that it would be best to just lie there and die like the lowly animal he was. Slowly, he descended into the black abyss that called to him.

“Aunt Myra! Stop the car!” shouted Freiya; startled, her aunt slammed on the brakes.
“What? What is it?” asked Myra worriedly, but Freiya ignored her as she jumped out of the car. Up the side of the road three yards from her was a young man. She rushed over to his side, eyes widening as she noticed his long furry black tail and black furred wolf ears that sat atop his head- as well as the vivid appearance of starvation. She checked his breathing, slow and shallow, but still alive. Heartbeat… weak, but still there, she was going to save him.
“Aunt Myra! Help me carry this man to the car! We're taking him to the inn with us!” Freiya called, and Myra fumbled out of the car and to her side.
“Oh my! Yeah, let's get him to the inn.” Agreed Myra. Freiya grabbed him from under his arms, while her aunt tried to carry him by his legs. With some struggle to place him in the back of the blue 2006 Honda Civic.

The Sunrise Inn was a nice, moderately large house with many rooms. The outside was white with light blue trim. A beautiful, well kept garden off to the right with a few white outside tables and chairs. Myra parked in one of the six parking spaces beside the inn.
“Let's get him inside.” Myra said, and the two of them got him out of the car and into the inn.
“Help me get him into the room beside mine, I can take care of him while you worry about the inn.” Said Freiya and Myra nodded.

Tucked into bed and sleeping soundly, Freiya began to prepare him food in the kitchen. Knowing that even if he ate all his food, his body wouldn't like it and regurgitate; she made a special tea for their guest.

“Wake up. Please wake up.” Said Freiya gently and smiled when one of his cute ears twitched.
“C'mon, you need to eat.” She said and at the mention of food the handsome, starving young man opened amethyst eyes. Freiya smiled happily, and Sasha would've said something but his mouth and throat were bone dry.

“Here.” She said sweetly as she brought a cup of water up to his lips. Water never tasted so sweet to him in his life.
“Th- thank you so much… I'm Sasha. Sorry for my unsightly appearance.” He said not looking this guardian angel in the eyes.
“Why are you sorry? It's good to be different from others. It's what makes you, well- you! Oh! By the way, my name is Freiya.” She said with a smile before giving him more water to drink.
“Now open up. I've got nice piping hot food for you.” She said. He was so taken aback by what she had told him that he took whatever she gave him.

Sasha felt tears sting at his eyes and soon after, he let them fall. There was a knock at the bedroom door. He wiped his eyes vigorously,
“C- come in!” he called from the bed as he steeled himself. The angel that he had woken up to entered with a bright smile on her face. It faded instantly and she gave a look of worry.
“What's wrong? Your eyes are red. Were you crying? Why?” she asked, concern thick in her voice, as she reached his side.
“No one's ever been so kind to me before. You are the first to show me such kindness- to tell me that it's ok that I'm different.” He said and Freiya wrapped her arms around his trembling shoulders and ran a hand through his hair.
“It's of to cry if you need to. It's good to have emotions and express them. What would we be but hollow, cold shells without our emotions?” she said comfortingly and Sasha buried his face in her bosom as he cried. He cried for the cruelty he had faced alone for so long, and cried for the young woman holding him when others constantly pushed him away.

Freiya looked down at Sasha, who had fallen asleep, and smiled.
Must have tired himself out with that crying. Poor guy, he must've gone through a lot, thought Freiya sadly as she snuggled down into the blankets beside Sasha and followed him into slumber.
