What Matters

 

 

“You don't think that this just might be considered crazy?”

 

 

She paused for a moment before returning to her work; seemingly ignoring the presence behind her.

 

 

“Does it really matter if it works?”

 

 

Her reply, while unexpected, made him sigh and hesitate in responding. Oh he knew her kind alright; it didn't mean that made it any easier to reason with her.

 

And there really was no simple way to answer her either. The truth was it is the end result that mattered now.

 

The mistakes made along the way had now made things impossible to fix; except by this end result. And no matter the details entailed for it, there really wasn't a choice.

 

Glancing around the room once more, he sighed again before saying, “I really hope you know what you're doing.”

 

 

“Don't I always?”

 

 

And that, he decided, was what made all the difference. That, at the end of the day, she always knew what she was doing.

 

Even if it was crazy.
