You look away quickly, eyes wide from the shock that he was implying that you were Azael. You couldn't help but beg yourself look back up, your disbelieving eyes traveling back to his. He stares at you in fury and surprise; he knew that you didn't believe him. "You don't believe me," his voice softens a great deal compared to his usual tone.
Tears fill your eyes, your lip trembles and your voice is clotted with bubbles from starting to grow upset, "No."
You hear him breathe in deeply as his breath seems to let out slowly. What I've done was cruel, but it's the truth, you think to yourself. You felt regretful from just one, two letter word. He said nothing else and stood up, then walked away; leaving you alone.
You sit where you are, thinking. If it weren't for the damn others, Beliya'al would've never told me the story and I wouldn't be put on the spot like I was now!
"Liar!" you hear in your head. Only you knew who would say such a thing, Psythe.
You quickly jump to your feet, which was hard for the dress and boots. "Psythe, I know you're out there somewhere. Come out now!" you growl.
Out of the darkness, he comes out and stares at you with fury. "The only thing Reign, Delva, Thantos and I are guilty of is trying to save you."
"Who said I wanted to be saved after I got here? And if it weren't for you, Beliya'al wouldn't have broken down and told me all that stuff. So watch what you say before you try to be quick to judge. Like I'd believe any of you anymore," you scowl and in a fit, jerk the necklace from around your neck and throw it on the ground. You turn to walk away, but suddenly feel faint and fall to the ground, blacking out.
You then slowly come into consciousness and find yourself in a familiar room. Unaware of really what happened. You try to remember, but everything was a blur. You sit up and then you're pushed back down with a bashing headache.
"Easy now," you hear a soft and familiar voice, Reign. He caresses your shoulder caringly with his hand. You look over to him, his silver hair pulled back revealing his whole face. It felt so nice to see him again.
"What happened to me?" you ask in a soft tone, trying not to jar your head.
"Let's wait until tomorrow to discuss that. For now, just get some rest," he says and stands.
"Okay," you say quietly and turn your head to see out the window that it was still dark then you look back to get another glimpse of Reign and smile.
"Good night, _____," he says in almost a whisper and flips off the light.
He leaves the room, someone was waiting at the door for him but you didn't bother to pay attention to who it was. You curl up and immediately fall asleep.
What you didn't know was that you were about to drift into a terrible dream.
You are running in a familiar home. Being chased by demons. You cry out for help when you hear, "Azael, grab my hand!"
It was Psythe fighting his way through the crowd, reaching out for your hand as you grab it and quickly move up the stairs. The demons were sure to follow.
"We need to get out of here!" Psythe yells over dozens of shouting demons.
"No! We must protect the jewel. If it gets into the wrong hands, we're all done for," you protest.
"Let the jewel go," he argues.
"If we do that, this world will go to complete chaos," you say almost making it to the room where the jewel is stored, "Also, let's not forget that whoever possesses it can go to the human world too. Innocent lives depend on us!" You open the door and both of you running in with a crowd of demons trying to make their way into the door too.
Psythe forces the door closed and runs to a chest. Knocking it over, making the door completely blocked to open. The demons continue to bang and scratch at the wood.
You make your way to the jewel and pick it up. Handing it to Psythe and you say "Hold on to it."
He nods and you pick up a display sword, ready for an attack. You turn to him, "If we go down, we'll store our souls into the jewel so whoever gets it will have no chance of possessing your father's dark powers. We can both take them over."
He again nods and sits the jewel onto the fire place.
A demon bursts through the door and others follow him in. "We want the stone," he growls.
"You can't have it," you smile and point your sword at him.
They all charge at once. You fight for what seemed to be hours you were growing tired but were determined to not give the jewel over without a fight.
A demon runs to you from behind with a very long candle holder and hits you between your shoulder blades. You yelp in pain and drop your sword. You were then overpowered by the rest of them.
You lay on the ground in agonizing pain, bleeding from your temple. Psythe notices you and grabs the jewel. He uses it to protect himself as he comes to you. You feel something thick run up your throat and cough. Blood came up. You knew what was to become of you now.
"Psythe, you know what to do," you say in a weak voice. He nods and then you close your eyes and take one last breath.
Then you flash to sitting under the weeping willow in the forest in the human world.
You snap out of your slumber and scream, tears running down your face. You open your eyes quickly and sit up breathing heavily.
You quickly jump out of bed and run into the bathroom, splashing cold water in your face. You take deep breaths and sit down on the toilet. What an awful dream. Why does all of this have to do with me?
You close your eyes for a moment; all you needed was to go home. At least for a while. Your peace is broken by a soft noise. You look down to see Patches. "Hey, baby doll," you say and pick her up. Holding her tightly, as she purrs and rubs her head against your chin. You were already getting greatly attached to her.
You decide to take a bath, you get up and start the water. Patches automatically runs out of the bathroom. You shut the door and lock it. You peel off the clothes that you wore at Beliya'al's home. You had no idea how you could've slept in them in the first place.
The bathtub filled up quickly so you hopped right in and laid back. You cleared your mind and decided not to think about anything until you get out. After a while, the water started to growl cool and you finish bathing.
You get out of the water, dry off and head into your room with a towel wrapped around you. You go lock the door and pick out some clothes. You get dressed, put a little bit of makeup on and head out the door.
Reign and Psythe were sitting in the living room. Reign looks up at you and smiles, "Good afternoon."
"You too. What time is it?" you ask.
"It's almost three," he says.
"Okay, thanks." you reply. Wow, last night must've been a big one, you think to yourself.
"Are you hungry?" Reign asks.
You shake your head, "No."
"All right then, if you get hungry, just let one of us know."
You nod and smile, "I'll do that."
From there on, you spend the next few days, sinking deeper inside your head. Isolating yourself from the brothers. You were growing depressed, you knew it but you couldn't help but to show it.
Until one night, you hear a knock on your door. "Come in," you say.
Delva walks in giving you a soft smile. "How are you doing?" he asks.
"I'm fine," you lie.
"No you're not," he says.
"Delva, I'm okay," you argue.
"We know that you're getting depressed and we really don't want you to get hurt. We think that we should take you home," he says sighing.
"What? After all we've went through. You're just going to throw me away?"
"No, it's not like that at all," he says as he walks to the bed and sits beside you, "_____, we all care for you so much. That's why we cannot keep you here if you're in danger. Even if it's to yourself, we don't want you to feel this way."
Tears fill your eyes; you really didn't want to go. You wanted to stay with the demon you really cared for, "I'll be okay, Delva. I've gotten so attached to you all, I don't know what I'd do without you now."
He nods, "But we will let you decide. We'll give you a week. If you want to come back, come to the spot where Reign first met you around the same time. If you're not there, we'll understand."
"I promise, I will be there," you say.
He nods, "But there is something you don't understand. The amount of days you spent here, adds up only a few hours in your world. So when we take you back, it will be the same day and just a few hours from the time you were gone," he says.
You nod. A week for me will be so long to them. How can they make this decision?
"I'm going to miss you, _____," Delva says giving you a warm hug.
"I'm going to miss you too," you say.
He slowly lets you go, "Are you ready?"
You nod, with tears still in your eyes.
"I just need to get my stuff, and I'll be ready," you say while getting up.
"Okay," Delva says as he lowers his voice.
You gather your things and pick up your bag. Delva stands and you both walk out of the room. You go down the stairs, which didn't take that long. You had gotten used to them.
Thantos was waiting in the living room. He looks at you with a concerned smile. You knew he knew that you didn't want to leave them behind.
Reign makes his way into the room and walks to you. He takes your things and hands them to Thantos. "Thantos will be taking you home, is that okay?" Reign asks.
"Yeah, it's fine," you say in a soft tone about to choke on tears.
"I'm sorry," Reign says as he wraps his arms around you, giving you a soft embrace.
You pull away slightly in anger. Furious that they'd not want you to leave, but now they're letting you go without accomplishing the mission that they wanted you to. Reign lets you go and looks down.
Thantos heads for the kitchen. You walk off the remaining stair and to Thantos. "Well have to go into the woods behind the house," he says.
You nod. And follow him to the back door and he opens it. You walk out of it behind him and he continues to walk silently. You reach the woods and go into them.
It looked just like the forest in the human world. You see something glowing up ahead and remember Beliya'al and Reign fighting over you at their first sight of you.
You reach it and Thantos looks down. Then he looks back up, his lavender eyes meeting yours. You stare deeply into them as he comes closer to you.
He leans in allowing his lips to collide with yours. Grinding them tightly with your lips you give in and enjoy it. His hand meets your face as he lets his tongue slip inside your mouth. He then pulls back and lets go of you completely. "I'm going to miss you so much, _____," he says.
"I will too," you whisper as you still stare deep into his eyes. But the stare was soon broken by a bright light blinking at the corner of your eye.
"It's time to go," Thantos says, "I cannot go with you, but I'll watch you until I am for certain that you're home.
You nod and smile. "Just step through the light and it will take you to the place where you entered it last," Thantos says.
You start to walk towards the light. It felt warm and yet comforting. You step into it...
And surprisingly you seem to just step through a wall and onto the other side. You turn to see the glowing light slowly fade away.
You see on the ground, your music player and coat. You pick them up. The tree had shielded them from the rain. The air was thick and wet. You turn on the player to see if it still worked. The music started playing, gleefully that it wasn't ruined you put your headphones on.
Noticing it was getting dark, you start for home right away.
You see clouds gathering in the distance indicating a storm was heading your way. You rush home, which was just a few minutes away.
