The moon was full, as I ran this unfamiliar path I had chosen. I saw no evidence of any life around me. No wind, Everything had come to an utter standstill. I heard only the steady beat of my paws striking the ground. It was as if the whole forest knew something tragic was soon to occur, even the trees seemed to be on edge. All of this was not helping my nerves. Kage, my lover, had been sent on a mission assigned to him directly by Cain, lord of Dir’zan himself. Normally I wouldn’t have given it a second thought but this time I knew exactly what he was up against.

Long ago I was captured by the God of the underworld, father of all vampires who named himself, "Bringer of the eternal sleep", Taetran. He abducted me in order to fulfill a prophesy which foretold of a she-wolf that would bear a hybrid powerful enough to destroy empires, and unfortunately I fit the ‘description’. I was imprisoned for eight suns until the night of no-moon. At that time taetran was at his weakest, Kage rescued me but not without scars to tell about. Taetran had been thought dead but one cannot simply kill a vampire much less the lord of them. Untill now Taetran has been gaining power and getting stronger, and being at the climax of his strength he set out to fuffil the prophesy.

Taetran is nothing but evil. Driven only by blood, power and pride. He has no mercy and will destroy any thing that gets in the way of what he wants, and what he wants is me. Only the heir to the throne of zar’rok can kill him, that is why kage has been sent on this mission.

I burst into a clearing in this thick forest that was absolutely dazzling. A canopy of leaves opened up enough to shed the milky moonlight down on a large sunning rock that overhung a small stream. I softly padded over to the stream and found myself looking at the silver wolf with red eyes that was my reflection. I let out a long pitiful howl as I realized I would never be able to share this spot with Kage, my black wolf, ill never be able to stare into his pale blue eyes, never be able to tell him I love him ever again.

In miserable agony I fled the clearing. A carnal scent hit my nose and reacting to instinct I found the source of this enticing smell. Taetran's servant Demyt, who I remembered a little too well from my imprisonment, lying face down on a carpet of moss, a pool of blood under him. Grimaceing as I felt my bones snap and shift into place, I changed back into my human form.

Silently I strode over to him and with one hand on my sword hilt I turned him over with my foot. Demyt was alive but only barely. Three long gashes, from kage no doubt, adorned his torso “Where is kage" I half screamed half snarled at the vampire filth. A choking bubbling sound came from his throat as he tried to laugh, “Where is he?!!” I yelled again pulling my sword from its sheath the tip piercing his skin.”Ess…..dead” dymit gurgled “tried to defeat master taetran he did”. Dymit finally coughed out, sputtering and laughing as if I told a joke. “You lie!” I screamed and in one swift movement I severed his head from his shoulders.

I dropped to my knees, letting my sword roll from my fingertips making a low thud as it hit the mossy ground. I was surrounded by enemy’s and I knew it. I didn’t care ,. Nothing mattered any more without kage not even my own life.
“well, well, well, ……. What do we have here?” came a smoothe voice . I didn’t even look at my foe, as he emerged from the bushes and came to a halt infront of me. "Hmm... silver hair, toned skin, blue eyes... he said with sarcastic interrogation "oh you wouldnt happen to be Maya would you?" Roughly grabbing my chin and forceing me to look at him. He had Silver-blond hair pulled back in a tight waist length braid, and eyes as clear and pale as the bluest opal. strands of hair in similar shades of blue had been pulled out of the top of the braid to frame his pale skin, the attributes of a shifter.

He looked me over confermng that I was the person he wanted. The shifter snorted and let go of my chin takeing a step back. leting my head loll back down, stray strands of silver and black hair stuck to my face. "Allow me to introduce myself" he said in an arrogant triumphant voice "I am Vien ( v-eye-ne) of the baali clan, and they" he exclaimed flicking his hand to acknolage the others around him "are my faithfull servants. Now why do you think we are here?" Vein continued.
Talking to me as if I were a child, I could kill every one of thease weaklings and I knew it. but whats the use? I have nothing left to live for. "we are under orders of the Cappidocian clan to assinate you and your precious Kage" I let out a small growl at my deceased lovers name.

Vein ordered his men to bind my arms and legs but left me kneeling. He picked my sword up looking it over. I have lost the will to live without Kage I have nothing more to give. Nothing maters anymore. "I hear a were-wolf can be killed by its own blade." He said smileing "care to teast that theory Maya?" Vein put the tip of my blade to my heart I could feel the cold silver metal through my tunic tingleing my skin. He smirked leaning foreward to wisper into my ear "Fool you die for nothing. Taetran is dead and kage is alive!" My eyes widened in in horror but it was too late.

Vein plunged the sword through my chest I could feel the silver metal seeping into my vains turning my body cold. "Kage...... alive...." I muttered as red and then black dots engulfed my vision, the burning cold spread through me. Vein pulled the sword from my body leting me crumple to the wet, mossy forest floor. Kage was alive and that was all that mattered, not the pain, not the enemys around me, not even my own life. Only that kage was alive. A pool of my own blood spread around me. I could feel the clasping cloying hands of the deamons that had come to claim my soul, as I silently slipped into the blackness that was death...
