Other Fan Fiction ❯ Check Yes Juliet ❯ One ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

“What ever Joe. The girls can't win state. They will crack like they normally do.”

“Well I bet they can. If I win you have to go out for the school play and if you win I will go out for the play.”

“You are on. I am so going to win.”

The basketball game was intense. They could score and then we would score. Our team was lead by Natalie Reynolds. I never really talk to her. She was really pretty though even if she was wearing her normally sweatshirt and jeans. At the last second Natalie shoots. The girl pushed her into the stands. She got up slowly. But no sign that she was in pain. The game was tied. It all came down to her foul shoot. The ball circled the rim. Then Like slow motion the ball went through the net and to the floor. The crowd burst into cheers. Water was thrown on her. They picked her up and started to shout MVP.

“Well it looks like my little fro bro will be in the play this year and you want to know something it is Romeo and Juliet. You are going to be wearing tights.”

“Shut up Joe. I want to go home.”

THAT NEXT DAY…

“Well well well if it isn't Nicholas Jonas. What are you doing here?” The teacher said.

“I am here to try out for the play.”

“Did you lose a bet or something.”

“Actually yes.”

“Well anyway all the boys over here and the girls over there.”

“Alright Nick you will be the first to go. Please read Romeo's lines for the balcony scene and for Juliet I want… Natalie. How about you?”

“Okay.”

Natalie and I stood in front of the room.

“Please start were Juliet says Ay me and end on Romeo saying Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me.

JULIET :
Ay me!
ROMEO:
She speaks.
O, speak again, bright angel, for thou art
As glorious to this night, being o'er my head,
As is a winged messenger of heaven
Unto the white-upturned wond'ring eyes
Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him
When he bestrides the lazy puffing clouds
And sails upon the bosom of the air.
JULIET:
O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
ROMEO [Aside.]:
Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?
JULIET:
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy.
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face. O, be some other name
Belonging to a man.
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet.
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo called,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
without that title. Romeo, doff thy name;
And for thy name which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.
ROMEO:
I take thee at thy word.
Call me but love and I'll be new baptized;
henceforth I never will be Romeo.
JULIET:
What man art thou, that, thus be screened in night,
so stumblest on my counsel?
ROMEO:
By a name
I know not how to tell thee who I am.
My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself
because it is an enemy to thee.
Had I it written, I would tear the word.
JULIET:
My ears have yet not drunk a hundred words
of thy tongue's uttering, yet I know the sound.
Art thou not Romeo, and a Montague?
ROMEO:
Neither, fair maid, if either thee dislike.
JULIET:
How camest thou hither, tell me, and wherefore?
The orchard walls are high and hard to climb,
and the place death, considering who thou art,
if any of my kinsmen find thee here.
ROMEO:
With love's light wings did I o'erperch these walls;
for stony limits cannot hold love out,
and what love can do, that dares love attempt.
Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me.

Everyone in the room clapped and whistled.

“I think we have found your Romeo and Juliet… but of course we have to give the others a chance.”

“Great.”

I went out the door. Natalie came running after me.

“Hey Nick wait.”

“What do you what?”

“You were really good.”

“Thanks. I thought you were a sports star not an actress.”

“Well I am. But I like to do both.”

“Really you just don't seem like the type that would do a play.”

“You don't either. Well I lost a bet with Joe… I have to go.”

“Bye Nick… I hope to see you later.”

“Whatever.”

A/n well it is pretty boring right now but things will get better. Please review what you think. Then just maybe I will get another chapter up today. Thanks for reading and please remember that I don't own or know anyone that is famous.
