Other Fan Fiction ❯ Custom Robo Arena: Round 2 ❯ New to the team ( Chapter 1 )

Author's Note: Okay, I know your all looking for my next Pokemon chapter, and I'm currently working on it, but I just finished Custom Robo Arena, and I just had to begin a fanfiction on it. For those who haven't played Arena on the DS, you should still understand this fanfiction with no problem at all.
The town was still abuzz after former champion, Eddy, was dethroned. Nobody had expected someone as inexperienced as the crimson haired hero to beat a professional like Eddy. Yet, it happened right before their very eyes, and because of this, many set out to be the best, just like he had become.
“TJ! WAKE UP!” A voice yelled from the lower area of the house. A young boy sprang to his feet, hoping out of bed. He quickly got dressed, and ran down the steps. “I'm awake, mom” The boy said in a groggy voice, indicating that he was only slightly awake. The boy's long silver hair was wild, uncombed, and untamed. Yet, his blue eyes still gave off a youthful glow that most people don't have in the morning.
“You're lucky I woke you up! Otherwise you would have surely been late” The boys mother said, forcing a comb through his hair. The boy, aside from wincing a few times, never acknowledged anything his mother said, yet, she kept speaking. “Oh, I heard this school is heavy into robos!” His mother said a few moments before he left. He was suddenly interested, but didn't show it. “Maybe you can find another nice girl to manage, and help you forget about Jasmine”.
Somehow, he doubted this, but decided to keep an open mind when he entered the gate of Midheart. Right away, he noticed students had dived into their Hollosseums, a familiar site to him. `I guess mom was right when she said this school was heavy into robos' He thought to himself. He even spotted a teacher battling a student, however, the student looked really familiar for some odd reason. She wore a purple hat atop a long braid of hair tied at the end by a large pink bow. She wore a matching shirt and shorts combo that looked like she was ready to battle at any moment. Tj thought he would remember someone dressed that distinctively, but he dismissed the thought when he didn't.
TJ sat through his first day of class, which was mostly introductions and preparation for days to come. After fighting to stay awake, he was determined to find out who that girl was. He darted out of the classroom, only to collide with another student.
This student was tall, much more than a foot taller than TJ's short height. He had a shaven head, and black eyes that seemed to bore through TJ's soul. His muscular body had knocked TJ to the ground, even though TJ was the one that ran into him. “Hey!” He yelled, “Why don't you watch where you're going!”
“I-I'm sorry” TJ said, nervously. “Oh yeah? I think you and me should have a robo battle! What do you think?”
“But I don't own a robo!”
“Well then I guess we have a problem. Tell you what. I WON'T crush your face in, if you swear alliance to our team, the Dirty Doers! Maybe you can sweep the floors of our clubhouse or something.
“Why would anyone want to join a team with a lame name like that?” A voice yelled from behind TJ. It was the girl he had seen from earlier that day. “Now let him go, Drag”. Drag smirked at her words “Why should we? He bumped into me. I think he deserves some sort of punishment for that, don't you?”
“It was an accident. Now let him go”
“Fine, only if you beat me in a robo battle yourself, Liv”
`Liv' He thought `I've heard that name before' TJ thought. “Fine” Liv answered. I accept your challenge. Both of them dived into their robos, as TJ watched the fight intensely. Liv used Luna, an Aerial Beauty model. Equipped with a Ground Freeze Pod, Direct Bomb, and Vertical Gun, she quickly overcame Drag's Rock Head model. “Now then, Drag, as promised, you have to leave him alone”
“Fine” Drag barked angrily “But I will be back, to take you and those stupid Numero Zeroes”
Liv calmly walked over to TJ and extended her hand to him “I'm sorry about Drag. Him and his team think they're the best around here, but they're nothing” Liv smiled at him as TJ took her hand. But then she frowned. “You actually came to Midheart without a robo? Trust me, you won't make it too far without one”
“Well, uh… truth be told, I actually can't dive” TJ told her nervously. “I used to be the support for the strongest girl in our town… or well, I was more, her, boyfriend, and then as a result, her support” TJ had no idea why he told her all that, but managed to shut up at that point.
Liv listened to his story, and thought of a plan “You're the first support to show up in a while. Most people around her are commanders. But, you do need a commander to support. While I'm not gonna go out with you, I would love it if you were my support”.
“O-Okay” TJ replied, somewhat flustered about the fact that he got shot down by a girl he didn't even ask out. “Follow me” Liv said, taking his hand and dragging him through the school.
The went outside to the school grounds, and not to far to the right was a small building. Inside, there was a hollosseum, and one boy waiting inside. “Finally Liv! I thought you had forgotten we were meeting here,” The boy said. He had spiky brown hair, and brown eyes one could easily see through his thin pair of glasses. He was more leisurely dressed than Liv was, wearing a loose yellow shirt and baggy black shorts. “Sorry Dennis. I had to save this guy from Drag. This is… uhh… what's your name?”
“TJ” He told them both. “Hi TJ, I'm Dennis” The boy with glasses told him. “And I'm Liv, in case you didn't know that already”
“Hi Dennis” He quickly said, then turned his attention to Liv “Where have I seen you before? I know your name from somewhere”
“She's pretty famous around here” Dennis said “She was support for the last two champions, her brother Eddy, and this years champion. I happened to know this years champ as well, since he used to be a member of this team”
“Wow” TJ said in shock “I never would have guessed you used to be a support. You seem like you've always been a commander, by the way you fought that guy”.
“Yeah… well…” Liv stalled, scratching her cheek nervously “I guess its just natural talent. So, if your old girlfriend was really the best in your hometown, I'm only guessing you'll make a great support, right?”
“Wait, Liv, TJ's your new support?” Dennis inquired curiously. “Yeah” Liv responded, “He can't dive, so he's been a support all his life. He needs someone to protect him, and I could use a new friend, so I gave him the job” She winked at him after this comment. “Wow, that's kinda ironic. Right after you-”
“Shhhhh!” Liv shushed him, and then whispered, “He doesn't know about that yet. I'll tell him at a later time”.
“I guess…” Dennis sighed, “Either way, welcome to the Numero Uno's, TJ! Hey, I have an idea! Lets throw a party for our new team member!”
“Okay!” Liv yelled, dashing off to get party preparations, leaving Dennis and TJ in amazement at her speed.
