Chapter 2:Shopping
That night, Elizabeth had one of the best nights she had had in over a month. However, her torn and tattered cloths left much for her to tell that morning to her two new friends.
“So, Elizabeth…why are you…well….so dirty?” Elizabeth knew this was coming so she set the plate of food she had been stuffing in her mouth, chewed the mouthful of food she had, then looked at the two men staring at her. “I've been running away from someone by the name of Count Maglanmis Von Dore..” she said and jumped when both men glared at her.
“Why?” “He…wanted me to marry him…but…but I don't love him and I am too young..” she said softly. “How old are you anyways?” “19…why? I know I look like a mere child, but I really don't act like one.” “I could tell when you tried to clean everything up on your own this morning for breakfast.” “Sorry…habit of mine..” she whispered then looked around to see why she seemed so nervous.
“We are leaving shortly to go back to our base…would you like to come with us or stay here and take your chances with the Count again?” “Oh…I much rather go with you thank-you…if you two don't mind..” she whispered and they nodded. “You should be better dressed though..” Johnathin said and stood. “Victor, mind taking her out to shop for some new cloths while I pack up the camp?” Victor grumbled and nodded slightly, standing and glaring at her.
“Let's get going..” was all he said before walking off. She followed quickly behind him and kept her feet in a face pace to match his. She wouldn't look at him, fearing he would hurt her if she did. Finally Victor broke the silence. “Why not marry him…you would have everything you wanted..” he said. “He's the one who killed my family…no..” she said then started crying. Victor tensed and then picked the crying girl up.
He hadn't meant to make her cry, nor had he meant to get himself slapped in the face either. She glared at him. “Don't touch me..” she then straitened out her cloths. “It's not gentlemen like..” she also said to him and kept walking.
Once at the market, Elizabeth found a nice pair of pants and a shirt. She had forced Victor away when she had bought herself better undergarments. Now that she had a least a weeks worth of cloths, she looked at Victor then sighed. “Sorry…for slapping you..” she said and looked away. Victor didn't look at her. He couldn't look at her. After cleaning up, she had gone to mere child to an extremely beautiful woman.
She noticed he wouldn't look at her, so she closed her mouth and shut up.
Once returning to the camp site, she noticed everything had been packed and the Johnathin grabbed her bags and put them in the helicopter as well. “Time to get going..” was all he said before they were shoved into the helicopter. Elizabeth soon learned why he was in such a rush when they were at least 10 feet above the trees. Ghouls had been coming for them, not just to kill, but to take her back to the Count.
