Why did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor? How many deaths were there?

 

On December 7th 1941, the Japanese Empire attacked Pearl Harbor by surprise. It damaged the great part of the US pacific Navy. The exact count of damages was mainly two US Navy battleships, one minelayer, and two destroyers beyond repair, and destroyed 188 aircraft. The amount of deaths summed up to 2,388 victims and wounded up to 1,178 people. This attack was meant to reduce of completely destroy the navy that was settled in Hawaii. These attacks on Pearl Harbor lead to the US to go to war in WWII.

 

 

The attack was decided upon I think because The US stopped all connections with Japan a few years before. Even the oil transfer was stopped.

Even though US Intelligence intercepted suspicions of the attack they thought it wouldn't really happen and turned a blind eye.
