"But it's the truth. At least I can say that I remember the girls I've given my heart to; and I can guarantee you that no lovers of mine will ever come back."
"That's because you've never loved!" Mia yelled. "Duh!"
"So? That's still better than anything Neron say," he frowned.
"It's not his fault he can't remember, but it is your fault for not opening your heart," Mia countered.
"Technically it is his fault that he can't remember," he retorted. "And the reason I have never opened my heart is for the simple reason that I'm immortal. It's hard to give your heart away."
"Thirty years ago, you weren't," she said. "And so what? He fell in love and he wanted to keep her? What is wrong with that?"
"Because he probably wanted to keep all his masters!"
"I refuse to believe that!"
"Why? He doesn't remember his past. Who knows how many immortal lovers are out there looking for him."
"He's only won once! How can there be others out there?!"
"He's won three times," he told her.
Mia froze. "Oh...then why isn't he free? I thought if he won, he got to be free...why would he choose that one time to make such a big deal about it?"
"That's something not even I know. Sophitia won't talk about it, so the only way you'll ever find out that answer is from Neron."
"Well...it's not my place..." she said slowly. "Not that he would remember..."
"Well, then it's like I said. At least with me you don't have to worry about ex lovers coming after me."
A figure stood outside of Keith's out. A fanged grin shined in the darkness as its yellow eyes glowed. Sniffing the air, he smirked as he took a deep breath. He knew that scent. Taking a deep breath, he quickly exhaled as his roar shattered the front door.
Neron whimpered. Mia's arousal killing him. His eyes shot open as he held his ears in pain. Pushing his blades out of his arms, he rushed out of his room, cursing as he slid into the main room only to be faced with the immortal from before.
"Miss me?"
Mia screamed as the door shatter and leaned into Keith when she saw the warrior. "Oh God..." Mia whispered. "Just when Sophitia isn't here..."
Neron lunged at the immortal, but his fist caught Neron in the chest and sent him flying through the house, crashing through the back door and out into the yard.
"Fenrir!" Keith hurried, ushering Mia back so that he could grab his gun.
Fenrir smirked and jumped through the room. Neron was struggling to get up. Fenrir howled again, his voice sending Neron flying once more. For some reason Fenrir's attacked hurt a hell of a lot more than he remembered.
He struggled to stand. His bones felt like jello. As Fenrir lunged at him, Neron breath out his miasma, a small cloud of it appeared before dispersing. Neron's eyes widened as he tried again, nothing happening. Looking up, he growled in pain as Fenrir's claws crashed into his face.
"Neron!" Mia screamed. This was her fault, because her heart was so bruised, he was losing his power. Mia turned to Keith. "Kiss me..."
Keith cocked his gun. "Not that I'm complaining, but is now really the time for this?"
Neron jumped back, blood covering his vision. He tried to use his shadows to attack Fenrir, but they wouldn't obey his commands. His powers were weakening. He was weakening.
"If I don't get my heart in overdrive, he will die! Do that thing you do and make me all hot!" she screamed. "Now!"
"I make you hot?" She glared at him, so he quickly did as she asked. He kissed her, rubbing his hands on her nether region to do as she asked.
Neron clashed with Fenrir. His blades clashed against Fenrir's claws, but the instant they connected he screamed in agony as the blades broke beneath Fenrir's strength. The bones forced back through his flesh until they were pressed against his throat.
"You're weaker than I remember," Fenrir chuckled. He raised Neron's arms, stabbing the blades into his face as he began to carve onto his flesh.
Mia cried out in pain, but pushed it down. She focused on Keith's lips and touch, picturing Neron. Her heart began to speed up and suddenly she was feeling hot again. Nearly lost in her own world, she jumped into Keith's arms as her heart went into over drive, beating so fast against her chest she was sure it was going to break through. Her tongue swam in Keith's mouth as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Neron groaned, what the hell was Mia doing now? He whimpered beneath Fenrir, His bones cracking further, his arms all but useless now. In the midst of his confusion and Fenrir's gloating, he barely noticed the black mist escaping his lips. Taking a deep breath, he screamed as Fenrir pushed his own blades deeper into his face. That scream caused the smoke to escape, covering the air between them in its deadly fog. Fenrir reacted almost instantly, jumping back to avoid the noxious gas.
Keith didn't know what the hell was going on, but he enjoyed it. He pushed his tongue deeper into her mouth while his hands rubbed her furiously through her pants.
Mia felt like she was on fire. Her breathing became labored and she had to brake the kiss to get air. Her eyes swam into his. Her face was flushed. "Keith...you are really good at kissing..." she whispered. Her lips met his again. Her heart speeding up once again. If this didn't work, what would.
"I told you to give me a chance." His hand unbuttoned her pants as he let his fingers slip into her panties. His free hand massaged her breasts, while hoping this battle never ended.
Neron pushed back, until he could get to his feet. His arms were practically useless, so he was going to have to figure something out. He was feeling stronger, however, that didn't mean much at this point. Fenrir stuck to the darkness, knowing that if he got too close he would be devoured by the miasma. He chuckled while dancing about the shadows.
"You can't beat me," he hissed. "Just like before, I will destroy you."
"Like hell you will." Neron coughed up blood. His eyes were drenched in the stuff, so he could barely see anyways. However, he didn't have to see to fight. His shadow took the form of his wolves, who quickly growled and raced toward Fenrir. At the sound of their howls he turned and launched miasma out, hoping to ensnare him.
"My, my what do we have here?" A small Asian girl, no older than twelve stood before Keith and Mia. In her hand was a gun as she looked at them sweetly. "Two guardians for the price of one."
Mia quickly pulled back from Keith and did her pants back up while blushing furiously. She looked at the girl then at the gun. Without really registering it, she moved in front of Keith, as if to guard him. She was unarmed and Neron was hurt.
The girl laughed as she pointed the gun at them. "This is too easy."
Keith moved from around her, firing at the girl the same instant she pulled the trigger. His bullet hit her leg, and her bullet hit him in the shoulder. He fell back, dropping his gun as he hissed in pain.
The little girl cried as she held her leg. "That hurt! You're mean." She raised her gun to finish Keith off.
Mia quickly moved. Grabbing Keith's gun from the floor, she used the trick he taught her and twisted her body while on the ground and reaching for the gun. Her leg went out, kicking the girl in the wound. She screamed and fired, missing Keith's head by only inched. When she hit the ground. Mia pointed the gun at her head and pulled the trigger. Blood flew everywhere, covering Mia in it.
Neron looked up as Fenrir charged him. His claws stopped inches from Neron's throat as his eyes widened. Looking back at the house he screamed in rage. "No! I will not be deprived of my vengeance!" He looked back at Neron, but already he felt himself growing weaker. Before he could do anything else he slumped to the ground, too weak to move.
Keith looked at Mia. He held his shoulder and moved over from her, taking the gun away from her as he kicked the little girl's lifeless body. "Good job," he told her.
Mia's body shook. She was only twelve....a little girl... Glancing at Keith she ripped her shirt and pressed it to his wound. "Hold that. I have to check on Neron."
She rushed out and ran to Neron. She looked at him, wiping her eyes and looking at the warrior that was fading. She watched until he was no longer there then rushed over to Neron and helped him to the ground. "Easy. Everything is going to be ok..."
Sophitia showed up seconds later. "Master!" she screamed.
"He's inside. He's ok..." Mia said and Sophitia ran inside.
As soon as Sophitia saw him, she placed her hand over his wound and took it onto herself. "Forgive me, master. I should have been here. I will never leave you again."
Keith smirked as he rubbed his shoulder. "Don't be. It's fine. Mia took out Fenrir, and I almost scored with her. If anything I might send you out more often." He smiled as he looked at her. "But thanks for worrying about me."
Neron could barely see, so he caressed her face to check her for wounds. He felt blood on her. "Are you hurt?" He didn't bother hiding the worry from his voice.
Mia held him close. "No...I killed her before she did any real damage," she whispered.
Sophitia nodded. "It's my job master." She dug in her skin and pulled out the bullet then picked up the girl. Going to the yard, she laid her down as Mia watched. Taking a deep breath, Sophitia blew out and fire engulfed the young girl's body. Mia looked away and Sophitia moved next her. "I will see him healed," she said and lifted Neron.
Mia watched her take Neron inside to set his bones back in place and bandage him. Mia stayed outside and cried while the events of the night washed over her as she watched the young girl turn to ash.
"The first kill is always the worst," he told her as he watched the young girl's ashes fly into the night sky. Shaking his head, he nodded to her. "I need a drink." Going inside he poured various alcoholic beverages together and downed them all.
Neron groaned as Sophitia popped his bones back into place. He bit down hard on the leather belt which had been forced into his mouth to keep him from biting his own tongue off. After she finished with his bones, she took to bandaging his wounds. His breathing was labored, but he was able to try and force the pain from his body, at least enough so that he could relax.
Mia stood outside for hours until the young girl was nothing more than ash. She walked back inside as Sophitia was coming from her room. "I bathed him and bandaged him. He will need rest. In a few days he will be as good as new."
"Thank you," Mia said slowly.
"I should thank you. You saved my master. Helping your warrior is the least I can do," she said.
Mia glanced at Keith who was in the kitchen groaning about the blood on the floor and about his front door now missing. "I would have done it even if he wasn't your master. He's my best friend."
Sophitia nodded and Mai walked pass her to her room. Neron was sleeping on the bed, cleaned and bandaged. She watched him sleep for a few minutes while she cried then walked to the bathroom and started taking a shower to wash herself clean of everything.
Sophitia started cleaning what was left over from the fight and looked at the door. "Should I call someone in the morning to come fix it, master?"
"Yeah," he sighed. "I should consider myself lucky that he at least used the doors rather than simply blowing through my whole house."
Sophitia nodded and cleaned the rest of the mess then wrote down a reminder to call the people about the door in the morning. For the time being she decided to stay up all night and stand guard. "You should rest, master. I will not be far."
"Relax, Sophitia," he told her as he fixed another drink. "Fenrir was here for Neron, not for me or Mia. It was his little brat guardian that nearly did us in."
"Without a front door, I would rather stay on guard," she said. "It will be morning soon anyways."
It was nearly noon before Neron woke up. He groaned and tried to move his arms, but he couldn't. His mind raced back to last night. Fenrir had worked him over pretty good. His vision was blurry, making it hard to see. "Hello? Anyone there?"
Mia had slept in a chair across the room from him and at the sound of his voice, she shot up. Moving to him she looked down at him. "I'm here, Neron. Do you want some water or something to eat?"
His throat was parched, but he shook his head. "Fenrir is dead? You killed his guardian?"
Mia froze. She had cried all night about that. Grabbing some water next to the bed, she tilted the straw and moved it to his mouth. "Don't worry about that."
He felt the straw press against his lips and he took a generous sip of it. "Thank you," he told her. He blinked, trying to focus on her face but it was a blur. "Last night you saved my life. Whatever qualms you have about what you did.... I still owe you my life. So thank you."
"I did what I had to. I'm your master. I'm not going to let you or the people I care about die. Besides, I'm sure before all of this is over, you will save my life too," she said slowly. "I'm going to make you something to eat."
He shook his head. "You don't have to," he told her. Even as he said this his stomach growled in protest.
"If I want you in top shape, I have to make sure you are taken care of," she said and walked to the door. "I'll be back."
She walked out the room and looked at Sophitia who was standing over a man while he installed a new front door. Going to the kitchen, she started to make something soft for Neron to eat.
"That's because you've never loved!" Mia yelled. "Duh!"
"So? That's still better than anything Neron say," he frowned.
"It's not his fault he can't remember, but it is your fault for not opening your heart," Mia countered.
