Other Fan Fiction ❯ Visions of Things to Come ❯ Chapter 3: A Higher Body-Count: Part 3 ( Chapter 3 )
As it was getting close to five in the afternoon, Gale and Wendy parked their cars in the driveway of an apartment building. The six of them left their cars and walked into the building. Gale led the way to the elevator that would take them to the third floor where Kriby’s apartment was located.
Sam reached out to take Tara’s hand in her own and she blushed. Being close to her sister had always made her feel better, helping her get rid of some of her anxiety which suddenly came out of nowhere. She knew they were about to meet a new ally, but she still had a very bad feeling about it for some weird reason.
“Wait. I forgot to ask you earlier, Gale, but when you say Kirby, do you mean Kirby Reed?” Tara asked, She remembered a woman with that name who went to school with Sam when she was a kid. Kirby was always nice to her and very beautiful. She was actually the first woman Tara had developed a crush on. She never told anyone except for Sam.
“Yep. That’s her. You know her? I should have figured that out. She’s one of the survivors of the 2011 Ghostface killing spree. She was stabbed, she lived though. And she’s an FBI agent now. She’ll have much better contacts then I ever will. Kirby wants to take this new Ghotsface fucker out just as much as we do.” Gale replied. After everyone got in the elevator, she pressed the button for Kirby’s floor. It hurt her pride as an investigative reporter that she didn’t find out about the Carpenter sisters' connection to Kirby beforehand. She had to do better if she and her friends were going to beat this newest Ghostface killer or killers.
“Yeah, we both do. Like she said, me and Kirby went to school together. But I was a freshman and she was a senior. I heard what happened to her. I was glad she made it out of that horrible shit alive. But neither me or Tara have talked to her in years. I did consider telling her about what occurred last year, I just didn’t want to remind her of her trauma.” Sam said. It was bad enough that Kirby neary died at the hands of her former friends turned deranged serial killers, she didn’t need anything else added to that. But maybe since she was an FBI agent now, she would be able to help them.
“Well, you’ll have plenty of time to catch up with her. Before we can do anything like that, there’s a lot of things we need to talk to her about first.” Gale replied. The elevator doors opened and the six of them started to walk down the hallway to Kirby’s apartment. Gale knocked on the door, which was opened only seconds later by Kirby, a man and another woman were standing next to her. Gale didn’t know who he was, so she’s a bit anxious. The six of them walked into Kirby’s apartment, the door shutting behind them.
“Hey, guys. Come on in. These are two other friends of mine and fellow FBI agents, David Willingfield and Grace Craven. David is actually my mentor. They both offered to help us out with this. We need all the help that we can possibly get.” Kirby said. She shared a look with Grace, the two women blushing. She never told anyone that she and Grace were dating. Kirby just wanted to keep her girlfriend safe and stop this new Ghostface from killing anyone else.
“I did have to pull some strings so that the three of us could be here. This is a bit unusual, but then again, this whole case is too. Here’s a shit ton of police and FBI files of who we think this Ghostface is this time around. But be warned, there’s a lot of them to go through.” Davild explained. He handed each of them a box of files of suspects to read. He honestly hoped this would help end this case once and for all. Nobody else needed to die. And that included everyone in that apartment.
“He’s right. I’ve only read through a few of these. Two of them, Fred Carver and Joel Brock were recently murdered. It might have been by Ghostface. But before we all read those files, let’s watch the video Dewy left us that Gale brought with her. Come on, we’ll watch it in the living room.” Grace said. She led everyone into the living room where they all sat down. Mindy, Chad, Kirby, David and Grace all sat in chairs while Sam, Tara, Wendy and Gale sat on the couch after she put the dvd in Kirby’s dvd player. She hit the play button on the remote.

Cory Gillis Jr walked into his house, taking off his earbuds as he did so. He left the door unlocked since he planned on going back outside to get the groceries he bought from his truck. When Cory entered his home office, he noticed something was off. He saw that the cabinet he kept a lot of his dvd’s which he made of his kills was open when it should have locked up tight, he took out his handgun from his shoulder holster with practiced ease and slowly began to check out every room in his home.
Cory heard a noise coming from upstairs, so he decided to head in that direction. At the foot of the stairs, he was suddenly stabbed in the left side and pushed down the stairs. He quickly grabbed the person by their shoulder and pulled hard, causing them both to fall. He stood back up, shooting the other person, who realized was Ghostface in the chest, knocking him on his ass. The power unexpectedly went out, he tried to run to the front door, he was stabbed in the back four times prior to staggering to his knees. His blood was starting to form a puddle underneath him, soaking into his jeans.
“Why? I thought we were on the same! We were going to kill those Carpenter sisters who fucked with our plans too many times as a team!” Cory yelled. He was fucking angry. He never felt so angry before in his life. He was starting to choke on his own blood. He didn’t plan dying like that. Fuck his life. Life certainly had a way of pulling the rug out from people, that was for sure.
“You did what you were supposed to do and served your purpose. I don’t need you anymore. I’m just cleaning up some loose ends by killing you, that’s all. And with my luck, you would probably go confess to the cops or do something that’s equally as stupid, if I let you live instead.” Ghostface replied. He laughed darkly, then he raised his knife about his head and thrust it down hard into Cory’s head, killing him instantly. Cory didn’t have time to scream out in pain. Blood splattered onto his costume and on the floor of the house. He knew he would have to clean that out later. He yanked the knife out, wiping it off and he left the house. It was already dark outside.
When Ghostface was one block away, he took out the detonator, arming the bomb he had placed in Cory’s house earlier that day. He grinned under his mask as he pressed the button and the house that belonged to the late Cory Gillis Jr exploded, destroying all of the evidence that he could have had that revealed Ghostface’s true identity. The killer took off his costume as he got to his motorcycle, putting inside a backpack. He slipped on his helmet, climbed onto the bike and drove off to go back to his lair of sorts to plan even more killings.

The smiling face of the late and great Dewey Riley showed up on the screen. Gale, Kirby, Sam and Tara all got really sad seeing him alive, knowing that he’s not anymore.
“I take it that I’m dead if you’re watching this. I felt bad for kicking Sam out of my trailer, so I decided to tell you more rules on how to survive a horror movie. Gale, I’m sorry for leaving you and New York the way I did. I panicked. Now onto the rules. I actually talked to MIndy about this after you left her house. If you’re dealing with the sequel to requel, then there’s new rules. Number one: Anyone can die, including legacy characters because we’re in a film franchise, not just a sequel. Number two: There will be new characters introduced, who are just there to add to the body count. Number three: Anyone who was thought to be dead in previous entries, are most likely not dead and hiding in the shadows to pull the strings. And finally number four: Don’t trust anyone except for your friends and family. I’m sorry I can’t stay longer. I just heard that Judy Hicks and her son, Wes were killed. I have to go. Please survive. I love you, Gale and I always will.” Dewey said. He smiled sadly before leaning forward to stop the recording. He had a feeling that he wouldn’t live to be in the sequel.
“Damn it, Dewey. Why did you have to die?” Gale said. She wiping the tears away that began to fall from her eyes. She was glad to have avenged his death when she and Tara killed that insane bitch, Amber.
“Dewey was right with everything he said. I told him most of it. Let’s just get finished with all of those files. Maybe there’s some clues as to who this new Ghostface or Ghostface’s are. I need some sleep soon.” Mindy stated. She yawned a bit, making her point. She stood up, took her box of files and began to look through them. Her friends did the same.

Ghostface was in his apartment, which also doubled as his lair, standing in front of a wall, staring at several pictures of his intended victims. Several were already marked with an X written in red ink: Fred Carver, Joel Brock, Cory Gillis Jr and three unknown people that law enforcement didn’t know about at all.
He smiled as he stared at the photos he took of the crime scenes. He knew that with the way things were currently going, his plan to get revenge on the Carpenter sisters and their friends, he would achieve his goals or at least he would get close anyway. He sent his other Ghostface minions to kill more of his target. The police and FBI would soon have their hands full.
As he ate the food he just bought from KFC, he turned on his police scanner to find out and see if they found the bodies of a few of his newest victims. Evidently they did find three of them. His grin got wider because he knew that even if he were to be caught, he would be famous for being one of the best Ghostface’s and one of the most infamous serial killers.

After spending two days looking at possible Ghostface suspect files, the group now knew that most of them were either dead or in jail and couldn’t be the killer or killers. Although, they did notice at least five or six who might be the new Ghostface, but everyone was just way too damn tired to do anything else, so they went back home or in the case of David who checked into a nearby motel while Grace stayed with Kirby because neither wanted to be alone or without the other woman being close by.
Sam knew that Tara was pretty damn scared, which was why Tara was sleeping in the bed with her. The two sisters needed each other, now more than ever before. But neither of them had known just how much their relationship would change in the following days and months. Sam could already tell that her feelings for her sister were beginning to change into something far more than sisterly. And she didn't mind it one bit either. She wrapped her arms around Tara, holding her tighter and closer. She listened to her soft, gentle breathing and that’s how she fell asleep.
Wendy, on the other hand, couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. She was just wired up. Another hour went by with her tossing and turning, she got up from the bed, walking into her bathroom. She took an over the counter sleeping pill and Wendy climbed back into her bed. She finally fell asleep within the next thirty minutes.
