Outlaw Star Fan Fiction ❯ Trouble, with a capital A ❯ ...and into... ( Chapter 4 )
Gene stopped the car a block away.
"Ok, Jim. Remember what I told you."
"Right. I'll call you as soon as I know." Jim waved as Gene sped off, hoping that the big lunkhead would control himself long enough to get them through this. It was late, but he knew that no one would be paying much attention to him. Whistling, he pushed open the front door. This place was so huge, that he could get lost and not see anybody for days…he was sure of it. Slipping off his shoes, he noted that Rosa's trademarks pink pumps were still here. His father's favorite house slippers weren't being used. Perfect. He checked the garage, checked the security camera monitors while the guards slept, then slipped into his father's bedroom. He rifled through pockets, looked for hidden drawers, hoping to find an obvious physical clue. He found a bottle of pills. Did his father really need sleeping pills? His father was normally a sound sleeper. Jim left the bottle alone and decided to check out the office. He heard a light shuffle outside the door- Rosa. Jim wasn't entirely sure what that lady was doing around the house- presumably turning to his father for comfort, after losing her lover- if only she knew. He felt sorry for her. He didn't personally care for her, but how shitty to endure deceit without realizing it. She shuffled past the room and into her guest bedroom. Her door clicked shut, and Jim once again raced around, checking to see if his father had come home yet. Safe, he began hacking through his father's computer systems…hoping to find any clue. He printed out a roster of political and business associates, they might be potential leads. But he found nothing and settled into his bed watching for his father through the security camera's link to his laptop...Jim was about to drift off when he suddenly bolt out of bed. The cameras…did they record? Or was it closed circuit? To his disappointment, only the outer perimeter cameras recorded anything, and the footage was only held for a few weeks before they got erased. The day Althea snuck in…yesterday…had been given a convenient glitch- child's play for his father's hacking skills. Hacking….Jim grinned wickedly. He had a great idea and flipped open his laptop. The screen glowed eerie blue on his face and the tapping of the keys mimicked the rattling of bones.

Jimmy and Althea laid on the bad, sated after another bout of athletic sex. His head cushioned by her breasts, he toyed with a nipple. She eventually smacked his hand away.
"Bad." She reprimanded. Jimmy grinned.
"Punish me?" He pleaded. Althea groaned. The man was insatiable! She was glad that Fred was taking some of the burden, at least he was somewhat useful. She smiled seductively.
"Of course, darlink!" She giggled and began wrapping her lips around his gleaming cock…
**
This time Althea laid against Jimmy's chest, tracing patterns across his pecs.
"Jimmy. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" She asked with wide, dilated eyes.
"Of course! Anything for you, for me, and Fred's money. You've asked me several times. Are you worried about something? Don't like the neighborhood? Guilty conscience?" Jimmy winked.
"No, no regrets, silly! You're the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. I guess it's a nervous time when my every wish is coming true." She sighed lightly and nipped at his nipples. Jimmy grunted.
"God, you're insatiable!" He groaned.
"I am now, for the time being." They drifted off to a sound sleep.
*****
Fred woke up with a start, shivering. "I feel like someone just walked over my grave!" He grumbled and hauled himself off to bed, alone, again. He pushed aside the muslin curtains to watch the rising and setting moons. "Jimmy, please come home to me soon." He let the curtain fall shut.
*****
Gene lay wide-awake, Alone. Iris was still working, and she might come by later, but she was mad at him- as usual. But that wasn't keeping him up. Damn neighbors.
*****
"No way!" Laughed Jim in the dim.

Rosa slept fitfully.
***************
Gene pulled up to the curb, several blocks away from Jim's house. He was beginning to get impatient, especially with wearing the moppy brown wig. A young boy with too-black hair and sunglasses didn't bother to open the door hopped into the convertible.
"Hey, man, thanks for picking me up, it's an awful long walk to get to the millennial movie complex!" He called, and gestured for Gene to get going.
"Uh, sure. No problem." Gene gave Jim a bizarre look. A mile away, opposite the direction of the movie theater, Gene slowed the car and parked. "Ok, there shouldn't be anybody around now that cares, so spill!"
"I searched for physical clues in my father's bedroom…"
"Fascinating. Will you get to the point already?"
"…but didn't find anything other than a bottle of sleeping pills. My father sleeps so soundly and regularly that it's like he's a machine. He has no need of sleeping pills." Gene began to fidget. "Then I tried the security camera footage, but they were no use. Then I hacked into my father's computer, but he can smell it, I swear, whenever I get into his computer. But using my own, I got the answer. I looked up run-of-the-mill public records. They told me where my Father went."
"Where, dammit?"
"Don't you care how or why?"
"Just tell me where first!"
"Ok. They're right next door to you."
"WHAT?!" Gene shrieked and anime-fainted. "Do they know that I'm out of jail or where I live?"
"I don't think so, otherwise why would they go there and risk running into you? It's sheer, stupid luck."
"Why there? Why not out of town?"
"The farther they go, the longer and larger of a trail they leave behind. Besides, no one but us suspects a thing so it's pretty simple. Hiding out in the open- the classic ploy."
"Ok, so, how did you track them down?"
"Public records- specifically, real estate. It's my father's style to buy something rather than ask anyone for any favors. He has several aliases; of course I know them all so I simply looked for recent real estate purchases under all his names."
"How'd you think of that? It sounds like a bad movie where the bright idea just hits out of the blue and it's the right one that leads the heroes to the villains."
Jim gave him a dirty look. "Heroes and villains aren't just black and white, dummy. One of those "villains" happens to be my father. You're a "hero" that's out on bail."
"Sor-ry. I didn't mean it like that, it just seemed so easy- everything in the movies and stories seems so easy because it always works out, ya know?"
"I actually was up all night, thank you, looking into everything that my father has ties with before I thought of the real estate angle. It was hard work."
"Well, you did a good job Jim. Now I can get to work! I'm sure that by now that they'll know that I'm out of jail."
"Probably. I hope that they didn't hear or see us at all last night."
"I thought I heard something funny last night."
"What?"
Gene blushed. "Ah, well, um… you see…"
"It's that grown-up thing called sex, right?" Jim said blasé. "I don't see why it's such a big deal. I think it's gross."
"Well, stick with me and I'll introduce you to some hot babes that'll make you change your mind- once you at least hit puberty."
Jim made a gagging noise. "I'll just bet you have plenty of experience."
"I'm a pro!"
"Great. Can we talk about something else? Like what your big plan is?"
"Well, Iris…"
"I mean your new neighbors."
"Uh, right! Ok, here's what I've got in mind….."
