Pet Shop Of Horrors Fan Fiction / Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ Loneliness of the Tigress ❯ Prologue
Akari" aaah! What a good day to start a fic!!! Don't you agree Kurai?
Kurai" *shrugs* I guess...
Akari" Ignore her!!! `Ne ways this fic is a Fruits Basket, Petshop of Horrors crossover!! We decided to combine our favorite manga into an angsty not-for-little-kiddies fic!!
Kurai" Yes...so please enjoy the show.
Summary: *takes beep breath* Kisa is the 10 year old main character of this story. She stumbles onto D's little shop in nearby china town...which is in Japan ....for some weird reason....'ne ways, she gets a pet, but has to hide it for Akito, `cause he's a little bastard... (Sry to anyone who likes him). Leon is also here, but he'll come in later, his whole department is here. So it's like the same in America....'cept it's in Japan!.....whatever....so now, on with the fic!!!
Warnings: This fic has some serious violence and maybe attempted rape later on...this fic is not for anyone with a weak stomach, or who gets teary eyed when someone is hurt. Also when Leon is involved, there will be LOTS of cussing. That `bout covers it, ne?
Disclaimer: *sighs. Akari and Kurai hold up a sign that says: `we don't own Fruits Basket, Natsuki Takaya does. Also we don't own Petshop of Horrors, Matsuri Akino does....'*

Chapter one: A new friend...
A small girl with light orange hair and amber-red eyes stumbled through the seemingly deserted sidewalk. She had tears in her eyes, and blood was slowly trickling down the side of her pale face. She also had a cut lip and a slight limp in her left leg. She tried to hold back a sob, but it came out as choked anyways. She stopped suddenly and turned to face a building that was right beside her. The sign over the door said,'Count D's Petshop. Where we sell love and Dreams.' She reached out a shaky hand to the door and clutched it as if her life depended on it. She then opened it slowly and walked inside. When she stepped inside, the first thing that hit her was a nice lovely smell that made her a bit sleepy, but she ignored it.
"Welcome!" said a man with blackish hair, coming out of the back room. "How may I--" he started, but stopped as soon as he saw who he was talking to. "Oh my goodness!" he shouted. "Are you o.k. little one? You look like you were just mugged! Do you need--"
"I need a pet. Can you please sell me a pet?" She asked in a voice barely above a whisper. The man looked at her worriedly, and then bent down to her eye level.
"A pet? Are you sure? You don't need any medical help?" He asked seriously. She shook her head and repeated her question. "What type of pet are you looking for?" He asked the little girl.
"Anything. Just as long as it won't leave me. I'm so alone. I'm tired of being alone. Please make me not as lonely," she said pleadingly. "Money is no issue, I assure you! Just please, let me not be lonely anymore..."she begged.
"I see," he said after a moment of silence passed between them. "Right this way. I have a very special pet in mind. We just got her in yesterday. Please follow me," he said leading her towards a white door. They entered it and walked down a long hallway to two huge black doors with golden suns painted on them. "Be very quiet. You do not with to frighten her. She tends to get violent if scared or surprised." He opened the doors, and they entered a room that was pitch black. He clapped and then the room suddenly lit up. He led the girl to a bed covered by silk drapings. When she pulled back the drapings, the girl gasped. There lying on the bed was a girl about her age with orange hair, emerald eyes, and black markings on her face making a fluid pattern.
"B-but she's not a pet. S-she's a girl, just like me..." she said, her voice crestfallen. She looked like she was about to cry any minute now.
"Oh on the contrary miss." he said "She is not a child like you. She is a rare species of tiger that lives on an island off the West African coast. But unfortunately, she is the last of her kind. Here's proof," he said, moving the satin bedcovers, so the little girl could see the tiger's tail flicking back and forth- clearly attached to the tiger-child. "She too is very lonely. Her native land was destroyed along with the rest of her species. It gets lonely being the only one, doesn't it?" he asked the tiger-child while stroking her head. A faint purr could be heard coming in response. "Well, what do you think?" he asked.
"I...I think she's beautiful," the girl said. "B-but are you sure you wish to part with her?" She asked cautiously. "Surely you couldn't just give the last one of her kind to me," she said.
"Do not worry. I think she would be better off with you than stuck here in this Petshop by herself. Will you take her?"
"Of course! I will take good...no great care of her!" she shouted, sounding so much happier than before.
"Very well then, I'm sure you will do a wonderful job of caring for her. Now would you please sign this contract?" he asked, holding out the said document.
"Sure!" she said taking hold of the pen and signing her name.
"And please bear in mind, if you do not follow each and every clause of the contract, the contract will be terminated, and this store will not be held responsible if for any reason a tragic accident should occur to the pet and/or its owner."
"Of course! Let's see, `Make sure no one surprises/ scares her. Don't let her run loose. And most importantly: never let anyone step on/ pull her tail.' Got it. You don't know how much this means to me Mr. D! I've been so lonely...but now I don't have to be alone anymore! Only one more question though. What do I feed her?"
"Why, what ever you yourself would eat. Just not to much sugar. It's not good for any type of creature!" He said smiling.
"Oh, and also, what about your payment? How much does she cost?"
"Hmm...Let me see...50 bon-bons and a case of Jasmine tea!" He said smiling.
"O-okay. I'll have them delivered to you by around tea-time tomorrow." And with that, she left the Petshop; with the tiger-child following her close behind. D watched her leave and followed her down the street with his eyes. He then smiled and retreated back into his shop. When he sat down on the couch, animal-children scrambled onto it, each one looking at him affectionately.
`Don't worry. You won't ever be lonely again. I promise...Kisa Sohma...'

Akari" Sooo...how'd you like it?!? Was it good? Bad? We need feed back here people!!! Just press that little purple button down there. The one that says `Review'. You know the one I'm talking about! Go on push it!
Kurai" Isn't she a scary little twit? And they call me the messed up one. We're sorry this was a little short, but we promise the next chapter will be longer. Also go and read our other story `Sukunai Hane'. It's longer, but MUCH angstier. And by much I mean worse that Yuki's past. Yes it's a Fruits Basket fic. It's not a crossover with anything. Just Fruits Basket. So please enjoy. Thank you and Ja. *All the while Akari is saying `come on...push it!' in the background*
