The ride home from the pet shop was usually a quick one, but the odd silence between the two men made the ride seem much longer than normal. While Seto was inside of the shop, the sky had cleared up miraculously, and it was now warm enough to even take the hood down on his sapphire convertible. Seto's mind rushed with thoughts about his newfound responsibilities taking care of Jou; especially the rules of D's contract…

" Rule #1;" repeated D in Seto's mind, "Do not let anyone see Jou in his Dragon form. In other words, he is not to go outside without wearing his necklace; it is the only thing that will mask him and allow him to look like everyone else."

Seto's gaze shifted over to Jou, who's eyes light up like a toddler's as he stared at the full moon shining brightly overhead of the car. Seto noticed that Jou kept fingering the Dragon pendant that D had given him, his fingertips running over the strange precious stone secured in the middle by a dragon-shaped silver charm.

"Rule #2;" echoed D's voice sternly, "Only feed him organic foods. Dragons are very pure and spiritual creatures, and I can easily guarantee you that giving him junk food is not in your best interest. Dragons are also very playful creatures; Jou is no exception, and he is a very active one at that. I'm sure Jou will easily adapt to any schedule, as long as you give him enough free time to do as he pleases. Oh, and make sure he has plenty of outdoor space to run around in; a garden or backyard would be ideal."

"That shouldn't be difficult," thought Seto, "There's plenty of room in the mansion for him to do whatever he wishes whenever he likes; away from the paparazzi's eyes. I'm also sure that he's the one going to get the most use out of our rose garden; I rarely have enough time to go outdoors, let alone sit in a garden to think for a couple hours."

"And finally, but certainly most important, Rule #3;" reminded D's voice, "Be careful of your feelings around Jou. Dragons are most in tune with emotions, and human ones are often most difficult to understand. If there is something on your mind, Jou will know, and he will often ask to help you. Let him. If too many of your emotions build up at one time, Jou will not be able to handle it, and may hurt himself… or you. Allow yourself to drop barriers around Jou; the more honest you are with him, the closer you will become, and the happier you will both be."

"That's going to be a bit of a challenge…" thought Seto. "I've just met Jou, and now I have to open up to him like he's my lifelong friend… I don't know if that's even going to be possible."

The sapphire-hued sports-car soon pulled into the long driveway of the mansion, flying past the rustic iron gates that protected the Kaibas from any invasion of privacy.

Jou watched with wide eyes as the car drove past a small man-made lake, with many trees and shrubs surrounding it, the full moon reflecting off the water's surface.

"It's beautiful…" Jou whispered, in complete awe of the natural beauty of the estate brought to life in the moonlight.

"It's even more beautiful at sunrise, when the morning glories are in bloom, and the morning dew brings out the best in the roses… You can come down to the garden tomorrow, if you like, and hang out in the gazebo… Feel free to do whatever you wish, Jou… This is your home too, now." Replied Seto. Seto pulled the car into the garage, locked up for the night, and led Jou inside.

Jou was already amazed by the sheer size of the Kaiba Estate; and nothing could prepare him for the inside of the Kaiba Mansion.

"*whistle* Wow." Jou couldn't believe that it was all actually real; the massive house was not only large; but very beautifully and elaborately decorated. The color scheme for the entire house seemed to be nothing but bold, full-bodied hues and bright white. Everything seemed to be modern and traditional all at the same time. Seto glanced at his watch.

"I think it's about time to turn in for the night. I apologize that I haven't prepared a room for you to stay in yet… I wasn't sure how you wanted it, or if you were even coming home with me, for that matter." Announced Seto. "So, you may stay in my room for night, if you wish, that is, I mean, if you'd prefer…"

"No, no, it's quite alright." Replied Jou. "I think it'd be better if I stayed with you; at least until I learn my way around." Jou gave a small half-smile of approval, and Seto nodded his head in acknowledgement.

"Alright. My room is just up this way, in the North Wing of the manor." Seto led Jou up the main staircase ascending from the foyer. "Over there," he pointed, "Is the East Wing; Mokuba's room…"

"Who's Mokuba?" interrupted Jou.

"Mokuba is my little brother. I'm positive that you'll get the chance to meet him tomorrow, along with a few of his friends. Anyhow, the East wing contains Mokuba's room, the indoor pool, the arcade, the bowling alley, and the main gymnasium…"

"Whoa." Replied Jou.

"Over that way," announced Seto, "Is the South Wing. There is the entrance to the gardens, the backyard, the outdoor pool and grotto, and the aviary. There is also a dirt path that leads to the stables, along with two trails to take the horses on."

"You have horses?" Jou's eyes lit up like a kid who just found a treasure chest.

"Yes, there are 5 of them; all of them very well taken care of." Replied Seto. Jou nodded in approval.

"And over there, is the West Wing. I am sure that there will be no need to wander over there. The kitchen and main hall are down a hallway off of the main entrance, in case you ever find yourself hungry. There is plenty there, and I'm sure you will find something to your liking. The guests' rooms are also back there, if need be."

"What's in the West Wing?" (1) asked Jou.

"There's nothing there; they have merely begun adding onto the house, for extra guest rooms. Mokuba does not wander back there, and I'm sure it won't be necessary for you to travel back there either." Replied Seto, a slight edge to his voice, hinting that he wanted the conversation about the West Wing to end. Now.

"This way." announced Seto, leading Jou into the far corridors of the North Wing. "Here you will find my room, and, for as long as you like, also yours. There is not much here other than a few empty rooms and meeting areas, but there is a small library at the end of the hall, if you find yourself needing to do something constructive." Seto stopped abruptly, Jou almost bumping into him from behind. Seto pulled a small key from his pocket, and unlocked the door handle. Seto slipped the key back into his coat pocket, and grasped the door handle, turning it slowly and gently pushing the double-doors.

"Wha…." Trailed off Jou, before becoming stunned into complete silence by the magnificent spectacle before him…

Authoress' Notes;

Sorry, I just couldn't help it. Yes, cliché, I know, but I thought it was rather funny. Whatever… I'm just babbling again. Sorry it took so long for this chapter, but I didn't want to end it too soon, and the Kaiba estate gave me a bit of a run for my money. Anyways, happy reading, and please keep those reviews coming!
