Pet Shop Of Horrors Fan Fiction ❯ Relative ❯ relative ( Chapter 1 )
I look around me. The rich, opulent furnishings of the room.
I have so much.
Then I look closer. There is no one here to enjoy them with me.
I have so little.
I look at the mirror. I note the unwrinkled face.
I am so young.
Then I remember the centuries that have passed.
I am so old.
I look at the mirror again. I calculate the perfectly symmetrical face.
I am so beautiful.
Then I register the mismatched eyes of a half-breed.
I am so ugly.
I inspect my hands. They are a pristine white.
I am so clean.
Then I remember the blood on these hands.
I am so dirty.
I decide to stop perusing the mirror.
I am so humble.
Then I turn back anyway.
I am so vain.
I hear the sound of a visitor. I rise slowly.
I am so composed.
Then I feel my heart drumming against my ribs.
I am so nervous.
I pass the book case, its contents long memorized.
I am so wise.
Then an old picture stirs my memory.
I am so foolish.
I shiver at the chill in the air.
I am so cold.
Then I think of whom I am going to meet. I flush.
I am so warm.
I see Leon come though the doors with a smile. He is coming to be with me.
I am so happy.
Then I remember the eternity I will spend without him.
And I am so unbearably sad.
It's all so very relative, isn't it?
