In the spring, Delia plants crocuses, patting the earth down around layered bulbs like onions. She makes herself a new apron out of blue fabric with white flowers on it, and smiles as Mimey dances underneath the warm sun. Spring is a good season, full of new beginnings. She experiments with her chicken paprikash recipe for several weeks, before deciding to forego the tarragon completely and adds an extra dash of pepper.

She hopes Ash will be home soon, so he can taste it.

Her herbs are sprouting with tender green leaves. She strokes a stem, smiling. Soon, there will be flowers.

Her tomatoes are doing very well. Pikachu likes ketchup. She can try making some this year.

The best part of spring is when it's starting to feel summery, and she sees Ash and Pikachu walking up the dirt path. She runs to hug them.

She breathes in crisp, cool air, and feels utterly content.
