I got a message from Ash that he was going to Cerulean City. That was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday
I got a message that he and Myste were coming for a visit with Ashlynn. I'm very happy that
Ash has finnaly gotten back with Myste. For so long he felt that he should have stayed dead
and was denying himself this second chance at life.
I told him that Myste would not hate him. But, at the time he would not believe that anyone
would not hate him; because he hated himself. My husband, Dusty, brought Ash to the rest of
the Shanie to learn about himself and his new ablities. When he returned to me he was in
much better shape.
About a week after he came back he left to fight the DemonSpawn all over the Island.
Particularly at the Indigo Plateau for there was a big attack there. That was 2 years ago.
Now he is coming home again but, this time he is with his wife and child. I'm very happy
that they are back together. I'm also happy that they are coming here. I have not seen
Ash in two years and Myste and Lynn in nearly a year.

When Ash died we thought he was gone forever. But, Dusty, Ash's father said that there was
a good chance that Ash would come back as a Shanie. When asked why Dusty said: "I'm
Shanie, sometines if a parent is Shanie the child becomes Shanie, if they are killed by
DemonSpawn." So we pretended that we could not recover Ash's body and held a memorial
service for those who did not know about Shanie. I hated not telling Myste but we knew that
Ash, even though his father is Shanie, might not want to live as Shanie. So, we kept her in the
dark. When he woke he almost did not want to even try to live but he decided that he may as
well stick it out. After all he never gave up before. He left with Dusty to learn about being
Shanie. The curious thing is that after his first Vampiric meal he gained a set of wings. Dusty
said only the most powerfull Vampires gain wings. And only the most powerfull of those gain
wings before they are fifty. When he returned three years later he was much happier. He
had learned that being a vampire was not so bad.
I just wish Gary would wake up. Well, he is awake but he is not there. Not since he brought
Ash's body back. When Ash woke up he was in no shape to help Gary and when he came back
three years later he could not stay long enough so we never told him about Gary and that Gary
had closed himself within his own mind after Ash died. Maybe now Ash can get Gary to live
again.

I'm sitting in a chair looking at nothing, just staring unseeing out the window. I've
been doing a lot of the since ash died. He died and it is all my fault. It's as if I killed him,
because he was trying to save me.
One night we were out hunting Vampires, just doing our normal routine, when I got
grabbed from behind. What happened next was very painful, but not as painful as watching
my best friend die. Nothing was as painful as that. I was being held from behind - I couldn't
break free - I felt a bite - then nothing but . . . pain . . .. When I could think clearly again I
looked up and there was Ash fighting the Vampires and loosing. I briefly wondered where his
hat was but . . . A few moments later even that was lost, when one of the Vampires bit into his
neck! Within seconds I saw Ash go from fighting to paralyzing pain to nothing . . . . The
Vampire let go of him and he fell down, and wasn't moving . . . .
I heard them laughing . . . then they left. I stood up and walked over to Ash . . His
eyes were open . . . staring at nothing. I went to pick him up and bring him back when I
realized that his hat was on my head . . . . He had given up his protection from Vampires to
save me. I was so stupid to leave my protection at home . . . but . . . I was . . . cocky . . . so
sure that I did not need it and it lost me my best friend. I brought him to my grandfather's
lab and then quietly sat down staring out the window at nothing.
Heh, I'm still doing that, what right do I have to enjoy life when I practically killed
my best friend? Myste tried to bring me out of it, how she doesn't hate me I don't know. But,
I just sat there and ignored everything that got her angry. I don't remember what she said
but she was pissed off.
As I sit here holding Ash's hat and staring out the window something flashes and out
of the sky comes something I never thought I would ever see . . . Ash holding Lynn and Myste
comes flying . . . flying on black wings down to the door. He and his family are invited in and
the last thing I see is his concerned look as he heads towards me . . . .
