That night, Jirachi and Mew sat on the edge of New Island staring at the stars. "It's so beautiful, Jirachi." Mew's eyes twinkled as she gazed at the star-lit skies. "Yes, it is, Mew." Jirachi sighed a little, rubbing his hands a little. "What's wrong, Jirachi?" "...Mew, I need to tell you something. It's kind of important." Mew gazed at the little pokémon with concern in her eyes. "What could be so important?"

Jirachi pointed to the skies. "Look..." Mew looked to see a comet in the skies. "What is that?" "That comet, Mew, is the source of my power. That was also my home." "Your home?" Yes, but one day, the comet fragmented, and I was in one of the chunks, which explains that rock over there." Jirachi pointed out the rock Mew found him in earlier that week. "So what does that mean, Jirachi?" "Mew, I wanted to tell you this sooner, but my time here won't last. I've spent four days with you, and I can only have a week here."

"So...in three days, you're leaving?" Jirachi saw Mew had a tear in her eye, and wiped it with his little hand. "Don't cry, Mew. You can still enjoy me for years to come, even after I'm gone." "How so? The only way I can is if you get me pregnant..." Jirachi smiled a little. "Mew, I thought you said you didn't want that." Mew chuckled a little, yet sighed. "What would happen if the comet was destroyed completely?" Jirachi shuddered after she said that. "Then, all my power would be sapped from me..." Mew gasped. "Will you die?" "No, Mew, but I will be extremely weakened..."

"Well, we need to enjoy these last days, Jirachi." "We shall, Mew... We shall..." The two began to share a soft kiss...

Back at Celebi's little nook, Mewtwo was outside looking for a little snack from one of the fruit trees. Mewtwo found razz berry, and begam to munch on it, but something caught his eye in the sky. "A comet? Hmm... Celebi, come look at this!" Celebi came out and looked to the skies. "The comet of Jirachi..." "That's his comet?" "Yes, Mewtwo. It's said to be the source of his power." Mewtwo looked at the comet for a moment. "Mewtwo?" Mewtwo suddenly gained an evil grin on his face. "What are you thinking?" "Celebi...what would happen if that comet were to be destroyed?"

Celebi suddenly smirked herself. "I see what you mean, Mewtwo. Hee hee hee..." Mewtwo and Celebi gazed at the comet, thoughts of revenge flowing in their minds. Mewtwo began to power up his psychic energy, while Celebi stood back and watched. Mewtwo finally unleashed a furious Shadow Ball at the comet. "You're evil, Mewtwo... Very evil..." "I know, Celebi. But you do not mess with Mewtwo."

Back at New Island, Mew saw something shooting in the sky. "Look, Jirachi! A shooting star!" "You can make wishes off of those, Mew." "You're a wishmaker, you could grant my wishes anyday!" Mew giggled and begam to make her wish. Jirachi stared at the shooting star closely. "Wait, that looks like... That's a Shadow Ball!" "What? A Shadow Ball?" "IT'S HEADED FOR MY COMET!!" They watched in horror as the Shadow Ball got closer to the comet. Mew summoned all the power she had and unleashed a devastating Psybeam en route with the Shadow Ball.

The attack almost collided with the Shadow Ball, but missed, and the comet got fractured even more, worse than usual! "Oh, no... My comet's been fractured!" "I'm so sorry, Jirachi. I tried to protect it for you..." Mew cried, knowing she had failed her lover. Jirachi just went to Mew and hugged her gently. "I understand, Mew..." The comet remained in the air, but the damaged had been done. 'How would do such a dastardly thing? And why?' Jirachi wondered many things as he comforted Mew...

Mewtwo, on the other hand, was a little furious instead of overjoyed. "Why didn't my Shadow Ball destroy the comet? I had it directly aimed for it!" "I can't say your aim was off, but... I'm going to beat it was caused by Jirachi." "So, he's trying to stop me?" "I'm not sure, Mewtwo." Mewtwo and Celebi gazed at the comet once more, wondering what could possibly be going on. Could Jirachi have been protecting his territory? Could he have known about Mewtwo's plan?
