Yuri drove back to the main road, breathing heavily on an inhaler. Heaving in the medicinal fumes, she managed to calm down a bit. `Goddamn it!!' Not only did Yuri suffer from asthma, but she was highly allergic to Beedril. "My plans are already falling apart," she said angrily, beating her fist on the steering wheel.

Officer Jenny cleared her throat. "I'm sorry to just barge in like this, but we have to work fast."
Brock released Liz slightly and looked up at Jenny. "Who? Who has my son?"
"Well," sighed Jenny, "It seems tat the only person in the photographer's studio besides you and your friends was the photographer, Phillip Pharnsworth."
"Photo Phil? What's he got to do with this?" Liz hiccupped, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Isn't it strange that there was only one person in the studio? No other employees, no other clients? And it's clearly evident that the fire was caused by an explosion in the room he kept his older film reels. It is a law in this city for businesses like Pharnsworth's to keep film in fireproof storage lockers." Jenny tossed Brock a photo. It looked like a bunch of burned boxes. "All of his lockers," Jenny continued, "were open. As well as the back window."
Brock looked back at the picture in disbelief. His son had been kidnapped by a photographer? It just didn't make sense. "We also found some video footage from a convenience store's security camera in the alley behind the studio," Jenny went on. "We believe that Pharnsworth was an accomplice to this woman, whom we haven't yet identified." Jenny handed Brock another picture, this time of a woman with short brown hair and thick lipstick. She looked like she was checking around a corner. Liz leaned over to see this person who may have stolen her child. What she saw horrified her.

As the forest became quiet again, Percy was absolutely livid. He growled constantly and the shining gem in his forehead glowed with anger. `She was my friend. How dare she betray me!!' His teeth gritted together in frustration. As his anger rose, his gem pulsed with the same fury. The tree they sat in began to shake, and this began to upset Pikachu.
"Um, Percy, I think we can get down now," Pikachu whispered. Percy jumped out of the tree without a second thought. He wasn't in the mood for arguing anyway. As soon as he hit the ground, the tree stopped shaking. Vulpix and Pikachu made their way down to the ground, looking around the dark surroundings. "Maybe," Pikachu offered, "We should go back that way to the road. Someone is bound to see us and-"
"No," Percy growled curtly. "If there's one thing I've realized from this experience, it's that there are too many humans who just can't be trusted." He began walking in the opposite direction, Jacob still clutched in his maw. Pikachu and Vulpix looked at each other, then followed after him.
"But it's so dark," Vulpix countered later on as he followed cautiously behind Percy. "Wouldn't we be better off waiting for a passing car? I can barely see!"
"I can see just fine," Percy mumbled. His cat eyes glinted, seeing everything around him. "Light a torch if you're so upset."
Pikachu nodded. He picked up a nice stick and touched it to Vulpix's nose. With a whisper of fire, the stick became a feeble torch. "It's not much," said Pikachu, holding the torch, "But it should do for a while. We should find someplace to stay for the night, in case Jacob wakes up."
Percy had nearly forgotten he was carrying the child. After all of the recent commotion, Jacob was still fast asleep. `Hmm, hope he stays quiet.' Percy thought.
The small group of pokemon walked still deeper into the forest, their tiny torch diminishing, until at last Percy spotted a tree with a hole at the bottom large enough to accommodate all of them. They crawled into the hollow tree, as Pikachu sat what was left of the still burning torch on a bed of leaves. The resulting fire was not much bigger, but it was the best they had now. Percy sat with Jacob between his front paws, as he cast his eyes out into the night. A ratatta scurried across the forest floor, searching for acorns. Percy tensed for a moment; he could catch it for breakfast tomorrow. But as he made to stand, Jacob stirred in discomfort. Percy froze. The ratatta was looking for the source of the noise, and was now staring straight at him. It took off in fear, and was out of sight in a heartbeat. Percy sat back down. He looked at the tiny child, as Jacob's small brown eyes looked up at him sadly. Percy heard a tiny gurgle from Jacob's stomach. Jacob's small stomach was empty, and now he was fussing about between Percy's paws. Nosing the side of Jacob's carrying pouch, he pulled out a bottle, which was half-filled with juice. Carefully, Percy used his mouth to guide the bottle to Jacob's little fingers. Jacob hastily accepted the juice, slurping quietly. Percy looked around; the others were already dozing. Jacob was almost done with his bottle, and looked ready to drift off again. But something in the child's face… Percy sniffed the boy, more so out of desire to comfort than identification. Jacob made a sad sighing noise, and looked out the hollow's entrance. "Meh? Mehmeh? Pehpee?" he babbled. `He's trying to talk human,' Percy surmised. Given the sounds he was making, the boy was probably calling for his "Mommy" and "Poppy" in his own developing jargon. "Sorry, pup," Percy mumbled. "They are not here." Little Jacob looked up at Percy, who shook his head `no'. Jacob understood, but became more sullen. His face wrinkled and he began to pout pitifully. Percy sighed, and licked the boy's head reassuringly. Jacob closed his eyes, and snuggled sadly into the large pokemon. Percy looked solemnly at his trainer's pup. "I hope Liz and Brock are okay," he said.
Giving a small snort from his nose, Percy blew dirt over the pathetic little fire, extinguishing it.

"But it can't be!! How?!" Liz gripped the picture in her hands, which still trembled slightly.
"Do you know this woman?" Officer Jenny asked, taking out a small pad of paper. Liz definitely recognized the face. It was the face of Yuri Sanura, a face she had to say goodbye to seven years ago. "She… Her name is Yuri, Yuri Sanura. She was my friend, years ago… But I haven't seen her in years! I thought she had died!" Liz could hardly believe her eyes, but sure enough, the picture did not lie. There was the same disheveled brown hair that hung just past her shoulders, the same frown she wore when she was focusing on something, the same strange green eyes peering over a pair of sunglasses.
"Do you remember anything about her? Height? Weight?" Jenny pressed.
Still gazing at the picture, Liz responded. "About… About five eight, around 140 pounds… I don't understand. How could she?" The last part was quiet.
"I'm putting out an alert. This information is vital." Jenny said as she ran down the hall and out to her motorcycle to make the alert. The doctor went to Liz's bedside. He looked at her bed chart, and then modified her morphine drip. "I'm very sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Boulderson, for your son, but it does look like you should be able to leave by tomorrow." He took out a small light and put his hand on Liz's chin.
Shining the light into her eyes, he asked, "Do you feel any light-headedness, pain, or discomfort?"
"Just a stinging in my forehead." she said.
"Any numbness in your arms or legs? Can you move them for me?"
Liz put her arms out in front of her, and moved her legs, wiggling her fingers and toes. "I'm fine."
The doctor took out a small pair of scissors and carefully cut through the bandages on her head. He inspected the newly stitched wound by her hair. "The stinging is normal; you've got about twenty or so stitches here. We've kept the bandages a little tight to help soak up leaking fluids." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small handful of white packets. He put them in her hands. "Since the wound is so close to the hairline, you'll have to keep it clean of hairsprays, grease, and sweat so it will heal quickly. Use alcohol, twice a day, for the next few days. It'll sting, but the wound will close faster to naturally keep out infection." The doctor replaced her bed chart and walked back out.
Liz sat there, with a hand full of alcohol swab packets. She wasn't quite sure if she was angry, upset, or even there.
"My past…" she muttered.
Brock looked at her. "What?"
"My past won't leave me alone…" She said, lying down. She looked out the window. It was dark out there. "Jake and Percy, and Vulpix and Pikachu," Liz started to cry silently. "Are they okay? Are they all alone?" Her body curled up into a ball. Brock could only sit there, his eyes out the window as well.

Percy awoke the next morning to an uncomfortable squirming under his head, and a powerful odor in his nose. The sun outside was bright, and it stung his tired eyes. Letting out a huge yawn, Persian looked around. Vulpix and Pikachu were still asleep, but something was making a gurgling noise. Looking down, Percy realized it was little Jacob, wriggling in his paws. The foul odor, Percy noticed, was definitely coming from the pup. "Oh, don't tell me I have to clean him…" Percy growled. His feelings of loathe for the boy only increased when Jacob decided he needed to verbally express his discomfort.
Jacob began to cry. LOUDLY.
This quickly roused Pikachu and Vulpix, who immediately sprang to their feet, ready to attack the next thing that moved.
"WHY?" Percy shouted over Jake's wailing. "WHY IS HE CRYING?!"
"I DON'T KNOW, BUT MAKE IT STOP!!" Vulpix yelled back.
Pikachu got in sight of the boy, and began to contort his face into the silliest thing he could think of. "Pika-chuuuu!" Jacob's cries began to soften. "Plah plah plah!!" Pikachu stretched out his face. Jacob was almost quiet now, with a few hiccups. "There, easy as PokéChow," Pikachu said triumphantly.
"Yeah, he stopped crying," Vulpix said, "But why was he crying in the first place?"
"He's soiled himself," Percy growled. "We have to clean him up or he'll smell even worse."
Pikachu looked taken aback. "'We'? What's with the `we'? I'm not licking his butt."
"Well, you're gonna have to help anyway," Percy growled. "There's water nearby; I can smell it." Percy put his head through the loop of Jacob's diaper bag, and then scooped up the child in his mouth by Jake's baby pouch. "Let's go; he's really starting to smell…"
~~~~~
"No. There's no way I'm doing it."
"Oh, come on, Pikachu, I've seen Liz do it a hundred times."
"I don't care! It's poop!!"
"Look, Vulpix is digging the hole, I have to hold him still, and you have the closest thing to hands! Just do it!"
Off to the side, laughter echoed from a small hole. "Shut up, Vulpix, or I'll give you something to laugh about!!" Pikachu warned. Vulpix stifled his chortling, and continued digging through the hard ground. Pikachu returned to the task at hand. Jacob was lying in front of him, sucking on his fist. His diaper flaps had been undone, and the diaper lay open before him, revealing its unpleasant contents.
"Fine," Pikachu sighed. "How do I do it?"
"You have to pick it up and wipe him with it first to remove the excess," Percy said.
Pikachu reached forward and scooped up the diaper. "I can't believe I have to do this!!" He wiped Jacob's little butt with the diaper. "Eeeeew!"
"Okay," Percy continued, "Now roll it up, and use the sticky things on the sides to close it."
Pikachu did, and now held the misshapen mass in his hands. "Eew," Vulpix said slyly, "I'll bet it feels all warm and gooey, `cuz it's so full of-"
"Shut up!!" Pikachu shouted. He threw the diaper ball at Vulpix as hard as he could. It landed with a sickening "squish", and did not bounce. Vulpix hastily kicked it in the hole, while laughing. "It was just a joke," he snorted happily.
"Just ignore him," Percy sighed. Digging into the bag, Percy pulled out a white box and put it on the ground, the pulled out a cloth diaper from the bag. Pikachu looked at them cautiously. "Take the box," Percy instructed. Pikachu took the box and opened it. Inside were white pieces of cloth. He pulled one out, and could feel it was moist. "What do I do with-"
"You have to wipe him with it," Percy interrupted. Pikachu made a sick face, and Vulpix laughed even harder. Jacob, too, began to giggle, but Percy was sure he didn't know why.
Pikachu wiped the baby with the cloth, the deposited it in the hole. Vulpix buried the foul things. "Good, now," continued Percy, "Take that," he indicated the new diaper, "and put it on, so the picture will face you." Percy used a paw to lift the child's behind. Jacob squealed with delight. "Bah," Pikachu griped, "He thinks this is a game…" Pikachu put the cloth diaper on Jacob, following Percy's instructions on how to close it. The result: a happier, cleaner Jacob. Jacob sat up and reached out for Percy. Percy pinned the pup back down with his massive paw, which caused another happy squeal. "Peh-shee!!" He giggled. Percy bent his head down and licked the boy's face. "He's not bad for a- MAUW!!!" Jacob had reached up and grabbed one of Percy's whiskers and gave it a nice hearty tug.
Pikachu groaned. "How are we going to get back home with this pup?!"
