Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Chance and Error ❯ Chance and Error ( One-Shot )
DISCLAIMER: - I don't own pokémon, believe me if I did it would have a lot more adult situations in it.... Relationships, guns and in this case...mad drunken drivers (*Okay maybe NOT that but the others sure we could use them*)
AUTHOR'S NOTES: - Today I went on a car journey with a friend of mine and er...two guys newis and...Er somebody...simple enough ey but in a way it got me thinking when I got home...I entrusted them kinda with my life (*lets say car accidents can happen*) but luckily my friends er...friends were nice and not maniacs (*I was so scared at first it's not very often I get in a car with a driver who's under 40 ^_^;;*) But as I was saying I was thinking...the twerps trust loads of stranger on there journey...of course bein' a kiddies cartoon they're all nice...but what if their judgment is clouded and they pick the wrong person to befriend...well that's what this fic is about ^_^ Hope you like it guys!
CHANCE AND ERROR
By Togepi
The sky was turning dark as night set in, in the world of johto. Ash, Misty and Brock wandered into a small town on their way to Ash's next gym battle, but little did they know that in this town waiting for them was the most terrifying event which they will ever experience in their lives.
Brock looked up at the stars in the dark blue sky as they walked and realized that soon they will need to find shelter for the night.
"Well the Pokémon center should be around here somewhere," said Ash as he stopped walking and put his hands on his hips. Pikachu, who was perched on Ash's shoulders, gave out a tired "Pika!" to let its trainer know he's tired.
"Hey Brock, does your guide book say anything about this town?" Misty asked her friend. Brock took the guidebook out of his pocket and flicked through it, he then shook his head.
"No. Nothing!"
"Well that's strange," replied Ash. Just then a car pulled up beside them and out of the open window came the friendly face of a man in his mid to late twenties.
"You kids lost?" he asked them, Ash nodded in response.
"Yeah! You wouldn't happen to know where the Pokémon center is would you?"
"There isn't one in this town" the man replied. Ash and his friend's faces just fell, they really didn't want to spend the night in a dingy motel, plus they didn't really have that much money.
"Cheer up..." added on the man. "...There's a Pokémon center in the next town not too far away. I'm heading there myself so I can give you a lift there if you want?"
The twerps looked nervously at each other as if silently debating whether they should go to the next town in the man's car or try and find some place cheap to stay in this one.
"It's okay, I won't bite" reassured the man. After that Ash was convinced the man was okay so turned to him happily.
"Okay! We'll go"
"Alright then get in," said the man. With that the kids got in the car, Brock sat in the front passenger seat while Ash and Misty sat in the back with their Pokémon. Soon they would be in a nice warm Pokémon center with a friendly Nurse Joy serving them food before they go to bed.
As they drove down a small country road, the man began talking to the kids as they sat nervously in the car.
"Anyway I'm Nick..." he told them. "...Is it okay if I put some music on?"
"Sure..." replied Brock happily. "...What you got?"
"I've got System of a down, that okay?"
Brock nodded as Nick put the tape in the tape deck. All of a sudden loud rock music came on through the speakers in the back as "Chop suey" began to play. Ash and Misty covered their ears as it did, not only was it too loud but it also wasn't exactly their kinda music. Brock didn't seem to mind too much, but he motioned to Nick to turn it down which he did.
"What's the matter? You kids don't like that kinda music?"
"I prefer something by the BackStreet boys," replied misty, as Togepi nervously chirped as it sat on her legs. Nick just laughed at her remark then just went silent. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out what looked like to be a cigarette. He tried to light it while continuing to try and drive the car at the same time. The kids just developed sweatdrops on their heads as they watched him.
"Shouldn't you keep your hands on the wheel?" Ash asked as pikachu watched on enquisently.
"Nah!" replied Nick still trying to light the cigarette. "This thing can practically drive itself"
"Er...okay then?"
Finally he got the cigarette lit and began puffing on it filling the car with noxious smoke. All the twerps began to cough including Pikachu and Togepi.
"Could you open a window or something" shouted misty in between coughs. "This smoke is terrible"
"Live with it missy" nick snapped back, surprising the twerps to how nasty he had suddenly gotten.
"Er...are you okay?" Brock asked.
"I will once I've had a drink," replied Nick as he brought out a can of beer from underneath the drivers seat.
"Your not gonna drink that are you?" screamed misty. "You should know better than to drink and drive"
"Oh shut the fuck up will you" sneered nick. "I've been drinkin' all day and I drive perfectly fine"
Suddenly the car veered to the other side of the road almost hitting on coming traffic luckily Nick managed to swerve back before he hit them. Brock, Ash and Misty were now hanging onto whatever they could find in sheer fear for their lives. Pikachu was hiding under Ash's coat and Togepi had begun to cry as it was scared, it knew all to well what was going on.
"Tocki Breeeeeeeeeeeee..."
"Look I think we'll be fine if you drop us off here" Brock said quickly to Nick. "We can walk the rest of the way"
"You three aren't goin' anywhere" he sneered back, suddenly the kids heard the doors lock, they tried them but it was no use Nick had locked them into the car.
"LET US GO!" cried Misty as she pulled the door harder and harder, but it just wouldn't budge, the harder she tried the more scared and frustrated she got and tears began running down her face. "PLEASE JUST LET US GO!!!!!"
"NO WAY!!!" Laughed nick. "We've only just begun to have fun kiddies"
With that he slammed his foot on the accelerator pedal making the car pick up speed and bombed down the quiet little country roads.
"Tocki breeeeeeeeeeee...Tocki tocki breeeeeeeeeeeeee..."
"Pika pikaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....chuuuuuuuuuu..."
"Look your scaring the pokémon..." Brock said to nick now in a more serious tone than a scared one."...Please just let us out!" But nick pretended he wasn't listening as he drank from the can of beer and began dancing in his seat to the heavy music coming from the speakers. Brock knew they were in serious trouble, he knew they shouldn't of got in the car with this man, why did they do it? Why did they put their lives in his hands? Brock looked back at his friends who were both huddling up to their Pokémon trying to calm them down...he then turned back to Nick.
"Look, I'll make a deal with you, let my friends go, please! I'll stay just let them go, they don't deserve to be going through this"
"I'm sorry but all three of you stay for the party," sneered nick with an evil sick twisted smile on his face.
"Please...." Brock saw this was going nowhere; Nick was enjoying seeing him beg for his friend's lives.
Just then they went over a small hill but at the speed they were going at they almost flew off the top of it.
"Tocki breeeeeeeeeee..."
"It's okay Togepi..." Misty lied to her Pokemon as she rubbed the spikes on it's head. "It's gonna be alright!" but it wasn't, Togepi knew it, so it carried on crying loudly.
"Would you SHUT that FUCKING piece of shit up will YA!" nick yelled at misty.
"Hey your the one who's upsetting it" Misty snapped back. "Maybe if you drove a little slower..."
"If you don't shut it up I will be forced to do it okay?"
Misty remained silent and quickly tired to calm down her baby pokémon. "Please Togepi be quiet, pleeeease..." But still the egg Pokémon cried, crying was the only thing it knew how to do in this kind of situation.
"OH THAT IS IT..." yelled Nick. Suddenly he leaned over towards Misty, brought out a knife from his pocket and pointed it towards her pokémon.
"NO YOU CAN'T KILL MY TOGEPI!!!!" screamed Misty as she held Togepi close to her as tightly as she could.
"Just watch me!" sneered Nick. "Now give the damn egg to me!"
"NO!!!"
"Give it!!!"
"NO!!!"
Nick was getting frustrated and was almost ready to jump into the back seat when Brock grabbed his hand that held the knife.
"She said no, now put the knife down," he snapped as the both of them began to struggle between each other.
"LET GO OF ME!!!" demanded nick but Brock refused to let go, if he did it could mean the end of little Togepi's life and he was determined not to let this happen.
Suddenly Ash's voice made the two men stop struggling,
"GUYS!!!! WATCH OUT!!!!!"
Brock and Nick looked out of the windscreen window and saw that they had swerved back onto the wrong side of the road and a massive truck was heading straight for them.
"Oh shit..." cursed Nick as he got hold of the steering wheel and swerved off the road into a field just in time to miss the truck.
Now the car was out of control careering across a bumpy field and the kids could do nothing but sit there and do nothing but wait to die. Nick franticly kept slamming on the breaks but it was no good they weren't working. Suddenly they flew off the top of a small cliff....all the twerps heard was screaming, then splashing, gurgling....then....nothing......

The next day Tracey was happily sweeping up the living room in Professor Oak's laboratory, as marill and scyther played happily nearby. The TV was playing and the news came on. At first Tracey didn't notice it, he hated the news, as it was always bad news, which was way too depressing, but for some reason this news bulletin caught his attention.
"Early this morning police pulled a car out of the lilywater reservoir that is located in between the town of lilywater and the town of Leafton...in the car they found the bodies of four people and two Pokémon. One of the people was a man aged around his mid twenties who has not yet been identified. The other three were two teenage males and a teenage girl aged between the ages of 13-18, they have been identified as Ashton Ketchum of pallet town, Misty waterflower of cerulean city and Brock Harrison of Pewter city...police are now starting an investigation into the incident..."
Tracey starred at the TV screens for a while, frozen with shock, paralyzed with fear and then he simply hung his head low in silent in respect for his lost friends...
