Chocolate Confessions
"Ready... Set... Go!"
Satoshi and Shigeru began to quickly sort through the brightly wrapped boxes in front of them.
It was Valentine's Day, the day of the annual chocolate competition between Satoshi and Shigeru. Ever since they had been old enough to receive chocolate, the two boys had competed to see who got the most. And every year, Shigeru would win. This year seemed no different.
"I have 15," Shigeru said, finished counting his chocolates.
"Aww... I have 14," Satoshi said with a groan. "It's not fair, you always win!"
"It's not my fault that alot of people find me attractive," said Shigeru, smirking. "Besides, I think you forgot to count one."
"What?!"
Satoshi turned back to the table where the chocolates were and, sure enough, there was a box set apart from the pile that he had counted. It looked no different from the other packages, except that it was wrapped in purple, not in the traditional red or pink which adorned the others.
"I don't remember getting this one," said Satoshi, picking up the box and turning it around in his hands.
"Well, maybe you should open it to see who it's from," Shigeru said, his voice a bit quieter than before.
"I guess I should," Satoshi said, not noticing the change in Shigeru's voice. He unwrapped the box, then gasped.
Inside was a regular piece of chocolate shaped like a heart. What had made Satoshi gasp was the message written on it:
Satoshi,
Aishiteru (I love you)
Shigeru
Shigeru had turned away, afraid to see Satoshi's reaction. He was taken completely by surprise as Satoshi glomped him, pressing their lips together in a gentle kiss.
"Well, I guess this year's competition is a tie," Shigeru said, smiling at Satoshi.
"Actually..." Satoshi grinned, pulling out a box wrapped in blue from his pocket. "You win this year too."
