It was insanely amazing that I had the power to force myself over to the door, and open it. And soon enough, I was staring into the hallway.

Quietly, I peeked around the corners of the door, then stepped into the hallway, shutting the door behind me.

Strange; no zombies.

I couldn't hear their hungry moans, or shuffled feet, anywhere.

I shrugged, and hurried down the hallway; I realized I didn't have a key to the upstairs. Maybe the elevator worked, as long as the zombie was gone.

Soon, I reached the end of the hallway, and I stared right at the elevator, praying.. just praying that the zombie wouldn't be there.

It took another batch of courage to push the elevator button; once I did, I stepped backwards, expecting that the doors would open, and that hung zombie would still be there, staring and groaning for my flesh.

'Ding!'

I was a bit startled by the sound the elevator made once it reached the floor; and the doors opened.

I was relieved to find nothing in the elevator; the zombie wasn't there, thank God.

I stepped inside, and pushed the fourth floor button, and turned towards the doors, watching as they shut.

As the elevator slowly began to ascend, I relaxed back against the wall, sighing softly.

And I felt a drip of something wet, fall onto my head.

I blinked; what was that? And slowly, I glanced up.to a vent above my head, that was closed.

Blood. Blood was dripping through the cracks of the vent. I frowned, and quickly moved off to the side, staring at the vent carefully. I wasn't sure what to expect; maybe some guy bursting through the vent, and trying to eat me?

This got worse and worse; suddenly, the elevator came to a stop, just right between the fourth and third floor. This was bad.

For a few minutes, I stood there, just staring at the vent. The elevator hadn't moved at all, and I feared that I'd have to climb out the vent, and enter the fourth floor from there.

Sighing, I carefully stepped beneath the vent, dodging another drip of blood that cascaded onto the carpet of the elevator.

I jumped, and used my hands to hit the vent off to the side. Then I jumped a second time, and grabbed ahold of the edges of the vent opening, and slowly pulled myself up.

And once I got my eyes past the edge of the vent, I stared at a pair of shoes, then slowly wandered up a pair of legs. Soon enough, my eyes came to lay on a face; rotten, it's jaw out of place.

It was a zombie; and even worse, it was the one who had been hung!

The rope was still tied around his neck, and the rope hung down to about his stomach, where I could see the rope had been cut.

I yelped; before I could jump back down, the zombie had suddenly grabbed me by my head, and lifted me amazingly into the air, holding me in front of it's rotten, smelly face.

".. Diee.." I heard the worse barely from the zombie, and he tossed me into the hard nearby wall, causing me to grunt out; I felt pain go up and down my spine as I slid down the wall, trying to regain myself.

I soon managed to stand up, staring at the zombie who was slowly limping towards me. This zombie didn't seem as dumb as the others; obviously.

He suddenly growled, and lunged towards me; I managed to jump off to the side, and stumble to my feet.

As the zombie slowly turned towards me, and began shuffling in my direction, I noticed a loose metal bar on the elevator. I quickly leaned over, and pulled it off the elevator, and turned towards the zombie, who was only a few feet away by now.

And swung the hardest I could, towards it's face.

I heard, and felt the metal bar hit the zombie in the face; I had knocked the zombie's jaw clear off.

The zombie stumbled back a few steps; I could see it's slimy tongue hanging where it's jaw once was. It began it's trip towards me once again.

I flinched; I wasn't sure if I could take out a zombie with a pipe.. but I had to try.

I took another hard swing at the zombie's skull, once it was close enough again. The zombie stumbled off to the side, but soon regained itself. I saw I had knocked it's eye out of the socket, and it hung in front of his face by thin muscle that had molded onto the back of the eye.

I was getting disgusted even more; every hit didn't seem to do anything, only make the zombie more sickly looking.

I did have the gun.

But, I could save the gun.. because I might run into something a lot wor-.. Nah, screw it.

And I dropped the pipe by my side, and unholstered that SIG Sauer, aiming upon the creature's forehead as it outstretched it's arms towards me.

"No, you die." I was a bit late in replying to it's word, but no matter. I snapped the trigger back once, feeling the gun jerk as the round flew from the chamber, and clean through the creature's forehead.

"Uhhn.." The zombie groaned, and stumbled backwards. Soon, it collapsed on the elevator, a pool of blood and muscle fragments forming beneath it's head.

I swallowed, and turned towards the elevator doors. I was still stuck between the third and fourth floor, but oh well.

I put my gun back in my belt, and picked up the pipe. I faced the pair of elevator doors that lead into the fourth floor, and jammed the pipe between them, slowly forcing them open. They didn't resist, too badly.. it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

And then, I was filled with surprise and fear.

I yelped as I turned around to face the zombie, who had gotten back up, and now was gripping onto my neck, and held me against the doors.

".. Uhh.." The zombie moaned, and slammed be against the door again, causing another sharp pain to fly through my spine.

Quickly, I reached for my SIG, and yanked it out from my belt.

Right as I had aimed at his face, he slammed me against the door again. I yelped in pain, and my aim was moved off to the side. I accident pulled the trigger, and the last bullet was fired, right past the creature's head.

I heard it hit something else. Weakly, I glanced over the zombie's shoulder, and my eyes widened as I saw I had hit the elevator cable.. and slowly.. it was stretching. I knew it was going to break soon.

I glanced to the zombie, who was staring into my own eyes with it's own one eye. And with all my strength, I managed to put a foot onto it's chest.

"Eat this, you son of a.." I growled, and used all the energy I had to push hard into the chest. My power was enough to knock the zombie back, and cause it to trip over a cable.

I looked back to the elevator wire, and saw the last thread on the wire snap. And then, the elevator quickly began to drop.

"Shhiitt!" At the last moment, I had turned around, and grabbed onto the pipe that was still jammed in the door, and hung on for dear life.

I watched the zombie stand up, and then fall to it's death.

The elevator flew downwards, and something very weird happened.

Once it got to the first floor, it continued falling, and falling.. and it disappeared from sight. It looked like there was maybe a basement, but.. I never even heard the crash of the elevator falling.

Was it a very very deep basement? Who knew.

I was kinda hanging onto a situation at the moment, so I threw that off for later.

"Goddamnit." I cursed to myself, looking around for some way to get myself out of this.

And suddenly, I looked up towards the crack in the door, and I saw half a face. Not human, not zombie. But one of those cat like creatures! It was Alexia, I could tell because of the pink fur.

I could see a half smirk, and soon, I heard her.

"Well well, Matt. Looks like your kinda hanging around, huh?" She said.

".. Alexia! Help!" She was the only way I was gonna get out of this one; I couldn't do it by myself.

"Oh, pity. A human calling for help.. of me?" I heard her say, and then she giggled; a dark, evil giggle.

"Please!" I begged once more; my grip was slowly fading.

"Well, now, Mathew. Should I really help?" Another giggle.

"Alexia.. this isn't funny! I'm about to fall!" I cried out once again.

"Indeed you are." She said. I heard her push some button, and my eyes went wide as I saw the elevator doors open, and I fell, still holding onto the bar.

But I didn't fall far; she grabbed onto the other end of the pipe, and laughed, pulling me up onto the fourth floor.

".. Thank you." I slowly began to stand up, sighing as I brushed myself off. And when I glanced back to her; she was gone.

I sighed, and rubbed my head; oh well, back to work.

As I walked to the ballroom doors, I was beginning to wonder if she was friend or foe. She was, after all, friendlier then her brother; I remember he is the one who pushed me off the ledge, or whatever.

I opened the door to the ballroom, and stepped inside. The room was empty, still, and I was glad it was.

I stepped to the piano, and sat down on the booth like thing in front of it. After I pulled out the piano thingy, that I still didn't know what to call, I stuck it into it's place, and turned it on.

The ballroom was suddenly filled with the soothing music from the piano. It was a piece by Beethoven; Fur Elise, or something like that.

I was almost hypnotized by the wonderful, peaceful music. But a loud, grinding noise startled me.

I jumped up, and turned around to see the fireplace and wall it was settled in, turn around. The whole wall continued turning until it was backwards, and instead of a wall and fireplace, there was a ladder, leading up to a hatch in the roof.

"O.. k." I muttered, and slowly stepped to the ladder.

"This place get's weirder, and weirder, each minute."

And with that, I climbed up the ladder; what would happen next?

I was about to find out.
