Chapter 1-Begginners Luck

Chris lay there, fast asleep. His dreams were swirling not stir. He slowly started to talk in his sleep.

"They're coming" He spoke silently.

Meanwhile, on the next island, two thieves were on the roof of the famous Pontaricò laboratory, a pleasant getaway from the flurries of everyday life.

"How's it coming?" Jet replied. He was wearing a black cat suit, so his looks were unrecognisable.

"We're all set" Megan's voice replied from inside the lab. There was a large velux window on the roof of the laboratory, in which Megan and her Spinarak had crept 6down. They had secured a safety line for Jet and Pineco to clamber down.

Jet slowly descended down the rough rope, the night scene from the roof of the around him, at night, but he did laboratory starting to disappear.

He leapt off the rope at about three feet, and landed on the floor. He saw Megan, who was also wearing a cat suit.

"Okay, now to find the eggs" Megan said, scouting around the massive lab. She saw a mass incubator, with about twenty Pokemon eggs rocking silently. She nabbed two.

"Let's leave," She said, throwing one to Jet. Jet caught it.
"Affirmative" He said. The two silently, stealthily walked out the lab, when torchlight shone at them.

"Stop" A familiar voice said. "You are under arrest for thievery" Officer Jenny strode into the darkened lab, Growlithe by her side.

"Really?" Jet said harshly. "Pineco, get it"
"You too, Spinarak" Megan said.

"Pineco leapt in the air, and, out of its pin-top it shot a Pin missile. Growlithe shot a flamethrower at the needles, and they disintegrated into ash.

"Spinarak, spider web!" Megan said, cackling like a witch. Spinarak shot a poisonous web at Jenny, and caught her up. She whined in pain, as she and Growlithe were lulled into a tragic sleep. Megan and Jet left.

"We steal pretty good," Jet said.

"Oh my goodness!" Professor Helmsworth said. "The eggs!" He was quite an old man, maybe 65. He had little hair, which was grey and wiry. He had half-moon spectacles with a silver colour on the frames. He stared blankly at the eggs that had gone.

Two of the Eggs had gone missing, and the trainers were to start their Pokemon journeys in one month from now. The eggs were to hatch by then.

"Whatever shall we do?" The Professor said. He got out a Pokegear and began to ring somebody.

"Hello, Professor Earnshaw?" he said. The Professor was wearing a lab-coat, had brown hair and a stiff, rather bony head.

"Hello Professor Helmsworth" Earnshaw said.
"I have a dilemma" Helmsworth said, anxious. He didn't want to sound unprofessional infront of this less-qualified professor.

"Two Pokemon eggs have vanished during the night; Officer Jenny reported two thieves with them. However, in one month, we have twenty trainers coming to me, each hoping to be the ultimate trainer." Helmsworth was quivering as he spoke.

"Ahhh, yes. Robberies have been reported around Catcalina Island as well. I tell you what. Send me two trainers and I shall give them they're first Pokemon in a months time"

"Thankyou, Professor" Helmsworth said to Professor Earnshaw. "Good Day"
"Good day" She replied back, hanging up.

And so the day came when all the trainers came to pick up their newly hatched Pokemon.

"Are you ready, honey?" Chris' Mom asked. Chris was thirteen, and was quite tall, about 5.8. He had dark hair, which always stuck up at the back, despite his attempts to brush it down. He was wearing an azure blue, long sleeved T-shirt, and long Cargo shorts, which left only his ankles visible. He was wearing his chunky vans shoes.

"Yea, I have my Pokedex, Pokegear, Pokeballs, (all kinds excluding GS and Master) my Game Boy Advance, Pokemon advance, my Pokemon Mini and 4 games-"

"I meant clothes" His mom said. "All those electric doo-hickey's are not essential"
"Sure they are" Chris replied, with a hollow laugh.

After a gruelling re-pack, Chris walked out his house with his heavy backpack, and towards the Pontaricò Lab.

As he walked through the bustling town, he saw people living their everyday lives, caring for Pokemon and other People alike.

He saw a girl with a Clefairy.
"Hmmm...too girly for me"

As he kept going, a Granbull was racing a Bayleef.
"Both those Pokemon would be good starters," He said. Chris' Favourite Pokemon was Pidgeotto, and he wished he could have one for a starter.

Chris suddenly heard some Jamaican music, the heart and soul of Pontaricò. He saw a bandstand outside the lab, where eighteen trainers stood with their Pokemon. Professor Helmsworth was standing in the middle, directly under a banner reading: Fare Well Pokemon Trainers Of Pontaricò.

Chris walked up to the bandstand.
"Professor, have you got my Pokemon?" he asked. The Professor sighed.

"I'm afraid two Pokemon eggs were stolen about a month ago, and you and the next trainer shall have to travel to Catcalina island to receive your Pokemon" Helmsworth said.

"Oh" Chris replied, half mad, half sad. "Where is the 20th trainer?"

"Right here" A Voice said. She was the same height as Chris, with light blue hair, which came out either side of her head in thick sturdy bunches. She was wearing a fitted lab-coat, and had a red T-shirt underneath. She had a Pokegear around her neck.

"Krystal!" The Professor said happily. "So happy to see you"
"Likewise" She said, not stopping her broad smile.

"Krystal, this is Chris. He's travelling to Catcalina as well," Helmsworth said. Chris had seemed pretty rigid while the two had talked.

"Hey there, me old china plate" Krystal said, getting him in a headlock and scrubbing his hair with her knuckles.

"H...i" Chris said nervously.
"We'd best be leaving soon," She said, smiling deeply into his face.

"Yes, the boat will leave tomorrow, so you're best leaving as early as possible, it is on the other side of the island"

"Can't wait" Krystal said, grabbing Chris' arm and tugging him off. I'll ring when we get there, Prof!"

"Yea…" Chris said, nervously.
"Bye" Helmsworth said.

And so, Krystal dragged Chris away from Pontaricò, and off to Catcalina Island, where his first Pokemon and his First badge lie.
