POV: Adam
"Ugh, where am I" I said as I began to regain consciousness. I felt something cold beneath my back, and I could tell I was sprawled out on the ground.
I then heard a very beautiful voice over my head, tinged with some concern. "Hey, he's waking up! Are you okay?"
God, that voice was beautiful! I could have just listened to it forever, but she had asked a question, and it was only appropriate that I answer. I tried to think of whom the voice might belong to. My only conclusion at the time was that I was dead and talking to an angel in the afterlife. "Oh man, I didn't want to die yet."
"What makes you think you're dead?" the voice asked.
"I'm listening to the voice of an angel." I heard a gasp, followed by some giggles that sounded further away.
"Is he telling the truth Lavy?" the voice asked. There was some silence. During this time, I took the opportunity to open my eyes. I found what I saw to be breathtaking. Kneeling above me had to be the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She seemed to be looking off to the side, at another girl who looked to be about ten years old.
Lavy decided to take this moment to speak up. "He's telling the truth. He actually believes you to be an angel, Izzy." Izzy blushed and looked back to me.
"Well, you might as well sit up and see for yourself that you aren't dead. I'm no angel, though I am flattered that that was your first impression." I took this opportunity to sit up and look around. The first thing I noticed was that we, Izzy, Lavy, myself, and a pair of twins, were in a cell of some kind. In the middle of a room, too. I was extremely curious and a bit worried as to why we were in a cell, but I decided to hold my questions until the end of my observations. I looked around, and determined that the room we were in was a laboratory of some sort. There were two other people here; they were standing off to the side outside the cell, looking at some calculations of some sort.
I decided that now was a good time to speak up. "Where are we, and who are you girls?"
Izzy decided to give me a response. "We're in the headquarters of Team Rocket, in a laboratory of some sort." It was then that I got a look at Izzy's eyes. They were colored a very lovely shade of light orange. I pointed out with less tact than I would care to repeat that it was she I had seen that night in the clearing. "Yes, that was me. We ran into each other and knocked each other unconscious." I didn't say anything, mostly because it was just starting to sink in that we were kidnapped by Team Rocket. "As for who we are, my name is Isabelle, that's Lavender, and the twins are Lillian and Tabitha. We go by Izzy, Lavy, Lily, and Tabby respectively. What's your name?"
I took a moment to consider. I guessed that I'd just give them the name I gave to everyone else who asked. "My name is Adam."
Lavender looked at me for a moment and then said very bluntly, "He's lying."
I gave her a scathing look. "What are you, a walking lie detector?"
Lavender looked right back at me. "Yes, that's my special ability. I know when people are lying and when they're not."
Izzy further explained. "We were all taken for different reasons. Team Rocket wanted me because I'm a miko. Lavy is a walking polygraph test, and Lillian and Tabitha can communicate telepathically. So, what is your real name, and what is your special power?"
I knew better at this point. If I lied any further, then Lavy would pick up on it. I sighed, and began my confession. "My full name is Amadeus. And because of some youkai blood in my family centuries ago from a stone youkai, I can walk through stone and steel walls."
Izzy sighed. "They've been injecting you too, it seems. Apparently they didn't want to leave you behind when you could be a good test subject. Oh, by the way, your eyes are no longer green. They're steel gray, now."
I didn't believe her, so I looked in the reflective floor to see if what she was saying was true. It was. "They've been injecting us with something? What in the world is it?"
"That's for us to know, and for you to find out." The scientist and his young assistant had decided to walk over to us and listen in on our conversation. "All I'll tell you is that when we're done, you'll have gone through some most interesting transformations. And now, without further ado, we must administer the next injection." At the end of his sentence, he opened the door to our cell while being accompanied by some grunts.
I got up and got ready to fight, while the girls looked at me like I was nuts. I was one the far end, and so the girls were grabbed a hold of first. One of the grunts grabbed onto Izzy's arm and dragged her to her feet. She was definitely resisting, but the grunts were too strong for her. I noticed it was the same for the others. No wonder they thought I was nuts. The girls weren't too physically strong, and they couldn't put up much of a fight. I however, was another matter.
I ran forward to the grunt that held Izzy and nailed him in the face with a left hook. As he stumbled back and let go of her, I followed up with a right jab to the stomach. The guy bent over, and gave him a knee to the face, causing him to fall over backward. I started to celebrate my victory, but forgot about the other grunts in the cell. Two of them tackled me to the ground, and it required a third to hold me there. Apparently the scientist was getting bored, though.
"Enough! Get off him! We'll just use the gas instead." As fast as lightning, the grunts were off of me, and getting out of the cell. I started to get up to follow them, but the door of the cell slammed shut. The next thing I knew, the cell started to fill up with some kind of purple gas. The girls were already slumped onto the ground from inhaling it, and I soon followed. The gas didn't knock us out, but it did weaken me so much that keeping in an upright kneeling position was the best I could do. The scientist walked up behind me and injected some kind of red liquid into my right arm. It felt really cold at first, but then the searing pain started. The girls had already started screaming. I followed soon after. The pain started in my heart, and spread throughout my arteries into the rest of my body. It felt like a knife had been stabbed into about every part of my body and twisted so the pain inflicted was maximized. I kept screaming for what seemed like hours. The girls had already passed out from the pain, and I joined them soon after.
A/N: I know that the fic isn't quite getting anywhere just yet, but I promise the next chapter will be better. There will be a lemon later on, so this fic really does require an NC-17 rating. I would hope I get some reviews, to let me know how I'm doing. I worked a few bugs out, so the next chapter should be up soon.
