I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

Description: Song fic. My first one!! Jessie/James. My first fic about them too!! Jessie and James have been going out for a while now but they still don't know how each other REALLY feels. James reflects on his feelings for Jessie one night. He realizes how much he cares about her and wonders if she feels the same.

*Warnings* Rated PG. Just a little romance that would probably not be suitable for young children. There's not anything bad or nothing but I just don't think younger children would understand it very well. Know what I mean? ok.

James looked over at the sleeping figure next to him. He smiled as he watched the beautiful girl sleep. She slept so soundly that it would just force a smile on your face. It was so silent outside that night that the only thing that could be heard were crickets chirping and Jessie's quiet breathing.

**I could stay awake just to hear you breathing,
Watch you smile while you are sleeping,
While you are far away and dreaming.**

Yes, James just wanted to stay there forever. Just lying there, under the stars, with the sleeping Jessie. That was all he needed.

**I could spend my life in this sweet surrender,
I could stay lost in this moment forever,
Where a moment spent with you is a moment I treasure.**

James really did treasure every moment he spent with Jessie. Even when she was yelling at him he enjoyed it because he knew she didn't really hate him, like she said she did.

Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream will never do,

He moved closer to her quietly so he wouldn't wake her. Then he slowly and quietly slipped one arm around her shoulders and used the other arm to pull up the blanket. He was very careful not to wake her, for that would ruin the special moment altogether.

Wondering if it's me you are seeing.**

He could see the dreamy expression on her face, even though her eyes were closed. He gently kissed her closed eyes and afterward, a small smile formed on Jessie's face.

**Then I kiss your eyes and thank god we're together,
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever and forever forever.**

He was very thankful that they were together. Of course, he knew that he loved her and it seemed as though she cared for him. But she did have a different way of showing it.

James was tired but he couldn't let himself go to sleep. He didn't want to miss this perfect moment. Perfect. Yes, this moment was too good to be true. But unbelievingly, it was true.

I don't want to miss one kiss,
I just want to be with you right here with you,
Just like this.I feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment,
For all of the rest of time.**

Then, Jessie's eyes fluttered open and she looked straight up at at James.

"What are you doing?" she asked as she realized James had his arms around her.

"I was just enjoying this moment."

"What's so enjoyable about it?" she said.

"Jessie, I could stay like this forever. Just you and me lying here under the stars." Then he looked Jessie in the eyes and a serious expression came over his face. "Jess, what do you feel? How do you feel?"

"What are you talking about? What do you mean?"

"How do you feel...towards me?" he asked wondering how she would react to this.

Jessie thought a minute but soon realized what James was getting at. Then a little smile came on to her face as she got an idea. "Well...do this answer your question?" She leaned over and kissed him very passionately.

When she pulled away, James had a surprised look on his face. He wasn't expecting that. But his eyes soon went from surprised back to warm and caring. "Yeah, I guess that did."

He kissed her once more and well...the rest is history. ^_^
