Silence of the night.

(Hazel's POV)

I never knew what it was like to be rejected or 'shotdown' by someone you liked until today.

& I can tell you............. it's not a nice feeling.

I hated the whole fact. The fact that the boy whom I love, doesn't even love me at all.

Who? Who does he actually loves?

Those are just some of the questions I asked myself. Questions with no answers.

I don't know. Someone better.......someone even more beautiful then me, I guess....

I watched him from a very far distance. There he lay, fast asleep in the comfort of his warm sleeping bag, cuddling Coconut like a big teddy bear.

I always knew it that one day, this will come. He had his heart set on Coconut, not me.

I looked up & allowed the cold winter air to rustle my hair. I didn't even bother to sleep with my sleeping bag so I just lay down there, beside the Lake, staring at the stars. The stars were bright & seemed to cast a glow over the smooth surface of Desdemonda Lake, making the lake looked beautiful.............

I always remembered the story Grandpa told me when I was very young. The story about the Lake of Forbidden love............Desdemonda..........

The story of people who came to pray nearby Desdemonda lake to the great Guardian of the lake for hope on love.

"But it was just a story.............." I told myself.

I sat up & stared at the lake. The water was clear.........so clear that you can see right to the bottom..........

Somehow or rather, A song that my friend, May, sung to me when she was heartbroken, struck me. I got the urge to sing it......

So why not?

Out here in the Silence of the night,

Beneath the stars,

& moonlit sky.....

Sometimes I wish I could be strong like you,

It doesn't matter,

but do you care?

I looked at you,

you smiled at me.......

I tried to tell you what my heart felt,

I asked myself,

Now it just doesn't matter.

SPLASH!!!!!!!!

"Oh my god!" Coconut sat up. "What was that?!"

Almond stood up. "Hazel?! HAZEL?!"

"The lake!!!" The 2 rushed towards the lake.

Almond's eyes fell onto a gold star-shaped necklass. A necklass that Hazel always used. He picked it up & opened it. In it, there was a picture of herself & Almond.

"I never knew you felt that strong about me Hazel........." He said silently to himslef while clutching the necklass.

"I'm....sorry...but I didn't mean to let you fall in love with me....."

Only the wind answered him...................
