Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ The Attract Trap ❯ The Attract Trap ( Chapter 1 )
Disclaimer : It's easy to know what the disclaimer is... I don't own any Pokemon. I do however own the rights to own my entities... but they are in Pokemon bodies so, oh well....
"Okay, Cubbete. We are South of Blackthorn City. You know what to do."
"Cubone!"
The Cubone went to search in the tall grass to look for any Pokemon that can be found nearby. A few minutes, a wild Phanphy can be seen from a distance. The Cubone approached the Phanphy with caution... and noticed it is a male Phanphy, making this move work. The Skull Pokemon started to sing softly.
The melody caught the attention of the Phanphy. He noticed the Cubone and is compelled to follow. The Cubone then walked away from the Phanphy, who is following her. The Cubone walked through the tall rocks and turned to a corner. The Phanphy was about to turn the corner as well when a Pokeball conked him in the head. The Phanphy turned into a surge of red energy and entered the Pokeball.
The struggling going on between the Phanphy and its prison seemed as if it will take forever, but unfortunately for the victim, the Pokeball locked tight... trapping the Phanphy. A hand reached out towards the Pokeball and picked it up. The Pokeball dissappeared out of the trainer's hand.
"That's pathetic, Cubette. That's our fiftieth Pokemon we have caught in four days and three nights... we still have more to do..."
"Cuboooone...."
"No, Cubette. We still have more to do... I heard of a strange cave where there are lots of good and strange Pokemon in there. That cave, if I'm correct would be somewhere at the other side of this hill. Since it's steep, I won't be able to go down with you."
"Cubone? Cubone Cubone?"
"How do you get back up? I got a basket with me. I'll attach a rope to it and when you catch one, you put it in a Pokeball and put it in the basket for me to pull up. And remember... no Pokemon means no return up here, and that also means no supper..."
"Cubone..." The Pokemon could hear her stomach growling.
"That's it.... don't return for supper without a captured Pokemon. Do you hear me? If you try to escape, I will get my Pokemon to teach you a lesson."
The Cubone sighed and nodded. She had been working for this lass for about... months now... since birth up to now... but she has been using her as bait to lure Pokemon in. Cubone sometimes wished that she could rid herself off quickly and painlessly, but as lots of people know, there is no such method in the Pokeworld... After being given an Love Ball, The Cubone was placed on a basket and lowered down to the bottom of the rock mountain. Cubone got off and began working.
Months of experience had taught the Cubone that her technique would work only on fairly small Pokemon. She could not find many good Pokemon in the grass outside, but she could see a cave nearby so she entered it. It was too dark for this petit Pokemon to see, but she braved the darkness to venture further. She decided that now is a good time to use her move, so she sang just a tiny bit of the melody, hoping to get a Pokemon to be pulled in by the mysterious force of attract.
A dark figure appeared in front of her and screeched. The Cubone narrowed her eyes a fair bit. The good news is... the Pokemon is just the right size to catch. The bad news is... the Pokemon is a FEMALE Sneasel... and it doesn't look too happy. Cubone panicked and took out her little defensive tool.... a bone. The Sneasel slapped it off her with long, sharp claws... sending it a good few feet away from her. Cubone was backed up against the wall, with the Sneasel approaching her with a murderous glare.
Cubone felt a hole beside her with her paws and rushed in, which is a big mistake because the passageway isn't too deep and the Sneasel's claw is a little long. The Sneasel screeched again before trying to pry open the rocks to make the hole bigger. The Ice cold Pokemon's claws got ever so near the grounded Ground Pokemon, who is desperately trying to back off as deep as she could. Then, just as things seem hopeless, some sand hit the Sneasel in the eyes, causing her to back off slightly. A mysterious paw dragged her out of the hole and pulled her quickly towards the cave entrance. The Cubone closed her eyes, thinking it's the end for her...
The bright sunlight made the Cubone open her eyes just a little bit. Somehow, she ended up outside of the cave. She turned her head slowly to see if anyone was behind her. Sure enough, she saw a Pokemon right outside the cave, rubbing its eyes from being in the cave for too long. Cubone had never seen this Pokemon before... it is as green as river moss but its eyes and belly matched it its leathery brown colour. A propellor shaped tail gives away its identity... a Larvitar. And what's more, the Pokemon is a male... and quite small.
The Cubone started to attract him with a soft melody. The Larvitar was unable to resist and followed her in a spell. The Cubone went to the woods with the Larvitar a little distance away from her. Once she hid behind the trees, she took out the Love Ball and expanded it. All she has to do now is to get the Larvitar here to be captured, so she sang another song. The moment the Larvitar's head came in sight from behind the tree trunk, she was about to throw the Love Ball, when her stomach betrayed her and growled in hunger.
Larvitar heard the growl and went off in a hurry. The Love Ball misses him and bounced off the tree trunk. The Cubone cursed herself in Cubone language, but managed to keep her cool and followed Larvitar. Cubone hid the special Pokeball behind her back when she saw Larvitar approaching her again... carrying a small stack of berries. Cubone's mouth waters but she turned her head away and tossed the Love Ball into the bushes secretly when Larvitar was trying to look what's behind her. Larvitar reached out for something from behind him and pulled out her paw.
Cubone, thinking he's assaulting her, tries to hit him with her other paw but Larvitar is a rock type and, therefore, unnerved (although he felt a headache coming from all that repeated hitting). Larvitar used his other paw to place an object on her paw that was held by his own paw. Cubone looked at the object. It was her bone... with a ribbon tied to it in a lovely bow. Cubone looked up at the Larvitar. Having a good glance at his eyes for the first time, she could feel herself a little infatuated at the sight of the sparkling beauty of his eyes amidst the rock toughened skin.
The Larvitar bent down and picked up the stash of berries, offering it to her. Hestitantly, the Cubone picked one of the berries on the leaf platter and tasted it. Finding out it is not poisoned, she eats more until there is none left. She is just half full, but that is alright to her.... better that than no food at all. She hugged her savior tightly, letting tears fall freely from her cheeks down to her skull helmet through its eye sockets. The Larvitar was quite surprised at this but tries to comfort her by patting on the back. He had never seen any Pokemon like that before... ever...
Their moment of silence was cut short by some much unwanted shouting from above them. The Cubone looked up and saw a rather displeased trainer shouting at her.
"CUBETTE! I TOLD YOU TO CATCH A POKEMON, NOT HUG IT!"
"CUBONE!"
"WHAT?!! WHY YOU UNGRATEFUL..."
The trainer took out her Ultra ball and threw it towards the Larvitar. Cubone threw her ribboned bow and it hit the Ultra Ball out of the way.
"Cubette! The moment I get my hands on you..."
The Cubone was about to respond with an insult when her trainer threw down four Pokeballs. They opened to reveal four Pokemon: A Weepinbell, a Magnemite, a Pidgeotto and a Meowth... most of which the Cubone knew very well as her "victims" of her attract trap... All of them attack at once... The Magnemite shot out its bolt of electricity, the Weepinbell used its razor leaf and the Meowth trying to use slash along with the Pidgeotto using Quick Attack.
Larvitar took the blow from the Thundershock and Razor leaf, which simply bounced of him with a "pppzzzzttt..." and a "chink". Larvitar countered the Slash Attack with a good bite on his tail. The Pidgeotto swooped just above Larvitar, missing him by a few inches but the dust blinded him for a while. Cubone threw her bone and knocked out the Magnemite and ricochets to Weepinbell, knocking him out cold as well. Meanwhile, Larvitar was trying to wipe the dust out of his eyes when the Pidgeotto knocked him off the ground.
Cubone saw him in trouble and rushed over to protect him. She threw her bone at the flying foe, without any success due to its speed. The Pidgeotto went for a nosedive and was about to hit Cubone at full speed and maximum momentum, when Larvitar stretched out defensively in front of her and braced himself for impact. Everything slowed down as Cubone fell down to the ground and Larvitar taking a powerful blow from the dive and knelt down weakly.
Cubone got up and saw Larvitar hurt. She glared at the Pidgeotto, who is currently climbing in altitude, and began to flip her bone and catch it by its tip, and began focussing.... and focussing.... once again, the scene slowed down again, the Pidgeotto beginning to make his descent and the Cubone concentrating hard on the Pidgeotto's movement. Her trembling paw gripped the bone loosely, but she managed to keep it firm and still again at the last second before hurling her deadly weapon towards the winged warrior.
The bone spun, and twisted, and turned... the scene slowed down even further as the bone swerved at the same direction the Pidgeotto was turning and comes almost to a near halt as the weapon met its target... on the side of the head. The scene goes back to normal and pans back to Cubone. The Pidgeotto fell from the sky and landed with a thud. The "seemingly useless against Flying type" Bonemerang returned back to her paw and she hugged her prized possession, tied with a bow.
Larvitar got over the pain to walk over to Cubone. She simply winked at him, indicating she's all right. Larvitar heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the trainer up above, who is recalling all her Pokemon into her Pokeballs. She took out her last remaining Pokemon and smirked.
"You'll never beat my best Pokemon... NOT IN A MILLION YEARS! GO FERALIGATR!"
A differently coloured Pokeball flew down and opened, revealing a really powerful water Pokemon, sliding down the mountainside, in a trail of smoke, towards them. Larvitar bit the Feraligatr on the tail, only to be flung away. Larvitar managed to straighten and recover from the attack, and slides backwards a few feet before he runs forward at full speed towards the Aligator assailant. He noticed Cubone grabbed by the large hands and shaken about.
Larvitar ran into the Feraligatr, causing him to drop his catch of the day. Annoyed, the Water type shot a powerful stream of water jet at Larvitar, who went backwards and hit a tree. The Water gun kept on soaking him... weakening his defenses... drowning him. Cubone was crying. She couldn't do anything to save Larvitar. Nothing... but something caught her eye... something from the bushes...
The Cubone knew what she had to do... but it will be risky. Better this than to watch Larvitar drown under the enormous pressure of the water gun. So, with one last effort to get the Feraligatr from wetting Larvitar any further, she began to sing... her song passes through the hollow sections of the skull helmet, creating a soft melody. At first, the big fully evolved fighter didn't seem affected, but as she sang further on, his attention was turned towards the source of the melody.
"FERALIGATR! DON'T LISTEN TO THE MUSIC! USE WATER GUN!"
It was too late... by now, Cubone is singing her best she could think of. She backed a little, hoping to keep her distance away from the Crocodile Creep. She went through some bushes, with the Attracted Alligator following close by. The singing stops as soon as the red light filled behind the bushes and faded. Cubone came out of the bushes throwing and catching the Love Ball she had thrown out earlier, originally meant for Larvitar. Her trainer (or should I say... former trainer) gasped. and reached out for her Pokeball and fired the beam towards Cubone, who dodged it without trouble because the beam is a little out of range from out there.
"CUBETTE! YOU'RE GONNA BE IN SO MUCH HOT WATER! DON'T FORGET, I STILL GOT YOUR POKEBALL! THE MOMENT I FIND YOU, I'LL... *You know, the blah blah blah nonsense*"
Cubone ignored her, and went up to Larvitar and dragged him over behind the tree so that she won't recall her back into her pokeball while tending to him. Larvitar was still breathing, much to Cubone's relief. Larvitar looks a little weak, but able to gather enough strength to stand... the sit back down again. Cubone was crying a little to see him in a sorry state. She hugged him tightly and waited for him to recover his energy, not worrying about her trainer because she ran out of Pokemon to battle with and that she won't dare to go down the steep mountainside.
Cubone looked at her bone with a lovely bow attached to it. She took off the bow and used it to wipe the water outside of Larvitar. She squeezed it dry and... wore it... tying it into a nice bow behind her neck. Larvitar looked up and saw this... and smiled. Cubone let Larvitar sit up and leant him against the tree. She lifted the front part of her skull helmet, closed her eyes, and kissed him on the lips... just one small kiss... She put the skull helmet back on again and saw Larvitar staring at her wide eyed... he has seen her face.
Cubone blushed and tried to raise Larvitar's paw to make a truce... she placed his paw onto her skull helmet and the Larvitar nodded in approval. Cubone nodded and let his paw slip through her helmet and rub her cheek tenderly. Larvitar smiled before closing his eyes and resting. Cubone snuggled next to him and rested on his shoulders... Then, she did one thing that she had never done before in her whole life... she sighed happily.
What happened After that? Larvitar and Cubone have their very own adventures together. The Feraligatr was picked up by a trainer and taken good care of. As for the trainer... she.... lost a Feraligatr and is looking for a new way to catch Pokemon. Still wanting to hunt down Cubone and Larvitar.
Some explanation... This is made Pokemon TV Series style, not Pokemon Gameboy Game style so the following actions work:
* A ground type move like Bonemerang hitting a Pidgeotto (refer to the series part where AJAY's Sandshrew beat Ash's Butterfree)
* An owned Pokemon can still be captured in a Pokeball (Team rocket could do that... even a kid from Earl's class almost succeeded in catching Ash's Pikachu)
* Razor Leaf ineffective against Rock types (It depends on which is more powerful... I see Razor Leaf as a solid attack and ca bounce off Rock types... Like when Ash's Bulbasaur battles one of the Biker's Golem)
Other than that, that must be the best romance fic I have ever done... Why shouldn't it be the best? It is Valentine's Day when I submitted that. I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day... especially to a certain special someone. What will happen to Larvitar and Cubette? You'll find out... next Valentine's Day... heh heh... just joking... As soon as I can. Until Then... Goodnight. JAN COOLEEN }}AKA{{ POKE ACTOR
