The Life of Loneness

Chapter1:

The Nightmare Night

The lab was cold and dark. The night on the outside was dark with a warm wind blowing. She lied in her bed, shivering and though she had a blanket over her body, she just needed someone to be with. The shivering came from the loneliness she had. In her dreams, she had memories about that past and all the pain she had gone through. To her, they were nightmares. To everyone else, they were dreams. Kelly woke up, screaming. Her screams echoed through the empty laboratory. She looked around; tears fell from her light green eyes. "It was only another…nightmare," she said to herself, trying to calm. Soon the tears stopped and Kelly settled down to sleep again.

Morning came quickly after Kelly fell back to sleep. The sunshine came through the window and shined on Kelly's bed, in her face. She awoke, moaning, her tail slapping around. "Ugh…why does morning have to come so…early?" she asked herself. Kelly got out of bed and stumbled to the bedroom door. Before she had her hand on the doorknob, the door opened and Nathan pounced her. She giggled slightly and pushed him off of her then headed to door. " Kelly…what's wrong?" Nathan asked her. Kelly just shook her head. "The usual, people hitting on the walls, monsters coming out of my closet…stuff like that." She replied. Nathan just gave her a look. "Okay, okay…the dreams…no no no…the nightmares from the past again. They're haunting me." Kelly told him. Nathan nodded in understanding. "And you wish they would go away, right?" Nathan asked. Kelly nods, a tear about to fall from her eye. Nathan hugs her. "Don't be sad…they'll go away in time." Kelly looks at Nathan. "No, they won't." she said, walking to the door.
