Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ The Unlikely Partners ❯ Her Dream ( Chapter 2 )
Kristy, the energetic redhead, ran through the empty forests of Shincko. The air was cool and damp from the morning dew, making it the day just right for the small girl. Lush trees stood tall and proud with both thick and thin vines winding around them. Kristy had always loved trees because she loved to climb them or sleep in their shade.
The young girl jumped over rocks and logs, stumbling or tripping when she lost her footing or just didn't make the right timing. She stopped near a large oak to take a small breather.
"This is so cool! Why didn't mama bring me here before? I bet she'd like this place, too!" She sat down and sighed sadly. Her mother would like the forest, but even though they were here on vacation, her mother still had work to do. Her grandfather was fishing so she was stuck with an annoying and very mean babysitter.
Kristy grinned. When the babysitter wasn't doing her job, not watching her, she slipped out of the house. Kristy giggled at the image of her babysitter's face. Shocked and horrified. She was never obedient and was always `wild'. That's what her mother always said.
`From the day she was born, that child was a pain! I can only hope that she'll grow up to be kind and well tamed. God only knows what'll happen if she doesn't!' She had said that to her father. The word `father' made her angry and depressed. Her father was in the military, now a general, and always loved to fight. He had great pokémon such as a Pinsir, a Voltorb, and a Poliwrath! He had more, but she couldn't remember them all, She just knew the ones that he used all the time in battles.
"Oh, I want a pokémon, too!" She said to no one in particular. She pulled out a tiny green rectangle from her back pocket and opened it. Inside it had a yellow keypad and a little screen. It was her personal pokédex. Though she didn't have ANY pokémon, Kristy still recorded data on the pokémon she sees in battles, with their tamers, or just in the wildlife!
Kristy leaned against the rough bark or the tree and looked through all of the ones she's seen so far. She had at least thirty so far, but they were the ones she would see in the daytime. The ones she hadn't recorded were the ones that came out only at night.
"I'd do almost anything to have a partner of my own! I wouldn't care if it were weak or ugly! I'd treat it as if were my own brother or sister!" Just as she was reading up on a Ledyba, Kristy heard a pokémon shout its name over and over. That's one thing she thought was funny. The creatures would never speak a single english word, instead they would say their names.
Kristy got up and walked cautiously toward the commotion. It was said that some trainers would form such a strong bond with their partners that they could understand what they were saying!
The young redhead stopped behind the nearest tree and peeked around it. Her green eyes grew twice their size. The pokémon that was shouting angrily was a round orb creature with a gas like tail waving behind it. Kristy unconsciously pointed her pokédex at it and waited for the pocket-sized computer to give her it's information.
