<> - Translated Pokemon Speech
"I was beginning to think you would never ask me that!" Xasu responded. "Come..Professor Oak and Professor Elm will explain in better detail then I ever could" He beckoned me to follow with a hand, and I did. He led me down a hall or two, into a room filled with shelves of what we know as the Red Death. In other words...shelves and shelves of Pokeballs. Nearby, stood the two professors, and a kid with a headband, who started at the sight of us. That didn't last, for he quickly pulled out a sketch pad and began to draw. I was going to speak..but the one I presumed was Oak beat me to it.
"Put that away Tracey. Now is not the time to draw them" he said. The boy..or teen...which he was I could not tell, pouted, and put the said items away. Professor Oak, the older of the two obviously, turned to us.
"Welcome. I thank you for coming here. I know we contacted you by accident, but we think you may be able to help the Pokemon abused by those who do not care for them. And I mean Team Rocket and normal people alike" he explained. I hadn't heard the name Team Rocket in years. I remembered them though, from books I had read about our ancestors, and who had created them. I scowled inside at the mention of them. Professor Oak continued.
"They've been doing various experiment on Pokemon, as well as creating them. We would like you to free any abused Pokemon and either free them into the wild, or give them to someone who will care for them correctly. It's all based on what they choose. Based on what we see of you, you can talk to them, no matter what species. So..will you help us?" Oak finished up.
Xasu looked at me, and arched an eyebrow, waiting for me to respond.
"Yes, we will. I cannot stand Team Rocket in anyway" I replied.
"Yes, where Hack and I are from, Team Rocket created our ancestors. At least..those who survived the process would eventually rebel..but they were treated horribly. We will do whatever you need us to in order to keep that from occuring here..at least, too badly." Xasu said. Oak nodded.
"Very well. You should start in the forests outside Celadon City. I've heard many a trainer has abandoned, or caught weak Pokemon they eventually abuse there." he said. Xasu nodded.
"I can get us there easy. Being a Gengar man has it's advantages, like greater speed when I use Teleport" he said. Grabbing my shoulder, we appeared in a forest almost instantly. Despite my shock..I faintly heard the arguing not far away.
We snuck forward, and peeked out from behind tree. An auburnhaired teenager, male by the sound of his voice, was arguing over a Hoppip with a brown-haired female, who apparently would treat it right. I looked at Xasu who nodded, and muttered "Mist" under his breath. The area immediately fogged up, making it near impossible to see. I jumped out and grabbed the Hoppip., who looked up, nearly scared to death, to see what had grabbed it.
"<who are you?>" it asked me. I looked down at it.
"<I am here to help...would you rather go with the girl...or be free again?>" I asked it. It looked thoughtful for all of three seconds.
"< would like to go with the girl..as she defened me against that boy>" it responded. I nodded..and with a burst of speed, dropped it into her arms and hid once more. With another mumble..the fog was blown away. Both teenager blinked, and we watched them from the trees. The male teen hmphed, and left.
"Now that I think about it....that was Oak's grandson..the one that he showed us" Xasu mentioned. I nearly fell out of the tree.
"That little brat?? He was rude. And he's supposed to be told to help us?? You have got to be kidding me!" I hissed. Xasu nodded.
"That was him. Despite his roughness, his grandpa said he liked Pokemon"
"Yeah...strong ones...bah.."
"Just come on Hack..." Xasu jumped from tree to tree, intent on following Oak's grandson. I scowled...and followed, winking at the Hoppip below, before disappearing out of it's sight. I did not really believe this young man would bother helping us.
We went up ahead of the teen for a few feet, and Xasu jumped down, nearly scaring the young man to death. I followed..and almost did the same.
"What..are you?!" He reached for a Pokeball, and was promptly frozen in place, with the ability to speak though. Xasu lowered his hand.
"I wouldn't recommend that young man. None of your Pokemon, no matter how strong they may be, will be able to win against either of us" He said, black eyes narrowed. The young man swallowed, and a bead of sweat rolled down his face. I spoke next.
"Your grandfather sent us to find you, Shigeru Oak..or should I say..Gary" I said.
"My grandpa..? What for???!"
"He said we needed to find certain people to help us. You being one of them. He has us on a mission, and believes you, and some others, can help" Xasu said.
"What...does he want you to do..?" Gary finally said. I spoke up again.
"To defeat Team Rocket, to prevent our kind from being created here..and to stop any Pokemon abuse going on"
"Well...when it comes to Team Rocket and stuff...you can count me in!" he responded, still frozen in place. Xasu lifted the Disable effect on Gary, and the human was grateful. I was curious as to what Pokemon he would have let loose on us, but didn't ask.
"Was it you who gave that Hoppip to that girl?" he asked me.
"Yeah. It was" I replied.
"Good" I blinked. "She deserved it more than me"
I bit back the nasty things I was gonna say, and stayed quiet instead. Xasu spoke instead.
"Now...we have to talk to an "Erika". Do you know who she is?"
"Yeah. The Celadon Gym leader" replied Gary. "We're almost to the city..I can take you to the Gym"
"That would be nice" I said.
"Remember Hack...Oak said they may have us fight their Pokemon, to see how good we are as some sort of stupid proof" Xasu said. I sighed..and nodded. Xasu instructed us to both touch him..and we did. Instantly, we were in front of the Gym, and a semi-stunned Gary blinked.
"I guess I won't need to show you after all" he said.
"I've seen maps" mumbled Xasu, who went in first. We followed, and ended up in the main arena.
"What, and who are you?" a female voice said.
"Not again.....oy...I'm Hack..a Pikachu man...and Xasu is a..."
"Gengar man" he said for himself. The lady who was probably the Gym Leader walked out.
"Ah yes...Oak told me you were coming..he just hadn't mentioned what you looked like. He did tell you what I would do correct?" she said.
"Yes, and I will be the one to battle" I said, pointing to myself.
"Very well then. Can you handle 6 different Grass type Pokemon?" she asked me.
"Hell yes. I can take them"
"Very well...1 vs 6, no time limit." She reached for a Pokeball, and I stood there..waiting to see what she would let out first against me.
