“Mine…” Red hissed, as he clutched his precious burden to his chest carefully. “She's mine. You can't take her away from me.”
Yellow shuddered, seeing the crimson eyes of her hero dart from side to side. “That's not what I mean, Red!”
What had happened to him?
She had not expected Lance would have injuries, as falling into a lava pit did have consequences, and so did being hit with a Megavolt. It was ten times as powerful as a Thunderbolt attack, after all, and many people died from those.
Nonetheless, why would Red care?
“You tried to kill her!” He accused. “I knew you would hurt her. So I took her away, and now, you'll never hurt her again. I won't let you!”
“Red,” Professor Oak tried to step in, become the voice of reason, but it seemed too little, too late.
He had kept his secret. None of them had known - none of them had even suspected - that he might know the Leader of the Elite Four. It was crazy, and yet, the proof was right in front of their eyes.
Why had this happened? When had he met her? Did this mean…? Questions and suspicions flickered in his mind, but there were no answers forthcoming, so...
“How can you betray us like this?” Yellow screeched.
Oak winced. That was the wrong thing to say.
“I can't choose my friends and the person I love, is that it?” He demanded. “I knew you couldn't be trusted!”
Anger blazed in his eyes. “After all, you're just a stupid girl!”
“Please,” The researcher spoke. “Yellow, be quiet. Listen to me, Red. I'm sorry this happened…”
He would have said more, but a cough sounded.
“Red,” A different voice spoke, and they all shuddered. Red gave Lance a sweet smile as the Dragon Master's golden eyes met ruby.
“Lance, you're finally awake… how are you feeling?”
“I've been better, but it's better than being dead.” The Dragon Master purred, as blue light flickered on her fingertips. “Shall we?”
“Yes….” Red agreed, and they both released their Aerodactyls. The two dragons nodded to each other, as Hyper Beam charged.
The others released their Pokemon, but it was no contest. Together, a bonded pair of Pokemon was always stronger.
Afterwards, the two of them flew away.

Delusions are unfounded beliefs, and there are three types of delusions associated with schizophrenia - persecution, grandeur, and ideas of reference. I suppose for plot purposes, Red has gone over the bend…
