We'd often walk together
through forests fresh and green,
enjoy the clear cerulean sky
and rest by cool, blue stream.

We loved the thrill of battle
the skill, the moves, the fun.
We fought our way up to the top,
we challenged, and we won.

We laughed, we joked together
we danced a happy song.
We'd play until the end of time--
How could I be so wrong?

At first you didn't notice
how much she cared for you,
but gradually you saw her love
and you gave her yours too.

Yes, I was there to cheer you
the day you made your vow.
I'm glad that I did not know then
the sadness I know now.

You chose to spend time with her.
It's fair enough, I said.
But then came children, worries, bills.
Life was no rosy bed.

I'm old, soon I will die. Yet
there's one thing left to say:
Pikachupi, why did you take
my Pikapi away?
