Chapter 1

“It is time.” Lance said, his voice sharp. “There is only so much we can do alone. It is time to recruit those who are worthy to our cause.”
“I understand.” Lorelei said.
Agatha gave a curt nod. Steven said nothing, while Karen's eyes flashed a vicious red and Will slipped his hand into hers.
“Well then,” Charlotte said, standing. “Shall I begin writing the invitations?”
“Certainly.” Lance gave her a half-smile, and she left the room.

Their small group of Elite Trainers had been working quietly, targeting those who would dare harm the environment. Team Rocket held sway in Kanto and Johto, Team Aqua and Magma tore up the Houen Landmass, and in far-off Shinou, there were rumors of Team Galaxy.
Lorelei had managed to infiltrate Team Aqua, because of her ice/water pokemon specialty. Indeed, she was swiftly rising in the ranks and able to pass much useful information. Steven hunted Team Magma, while Karen and Will and Agatha together were working on destabilizing Team Rocket.
Charlotte would be leaving soon to seek out potential recruits in Team Magma.

Companies who polluted the air and water and earth were dealt swift justice, razed in the death of night. Known locations of Team bases became wiped off the map completely. But there were still many, many others. They needed help.
They had been working too long, alone. They were burning out, several of them. Will, for one, was ready to sleep for a few years until he recovered his strength and powers, and Steven had been growing steadily crazier under the burden. It was time to bring their so-called rebellion into full view, and for that, they needed force.
Lance sipped his glass of wine slowly, a faint silver tint manifesting in his golden eyes. Yes, it was time to expand, and show the public what the nature of their crime was.
If they did not repent, they would be eliminated.

“Leaving so soon?”
Lorelei sighed. “Archie's calling a meeting in an hour. I don't want to be late.”
“Good luck.” Karen said quietly. “I hope the information is worth it.”
Lorelei nodded, and released her Dewgong, surfing off.

Three days later, Red got an invitation in the mail. He raised his eyebrows slightly at the greeting, but said nothing as he thanked the Ponyta rider who had brought it and went inside. His Poochyena ran to him, barking excitedly, as he opened the door.
“I wonder what this is…” Red muttered, digging around on his desk for his letter opener. Poochyena jumped onto his lap.
Master! What are we having for dinner tonight? Can we have steak? Can we?
“Let me think about that.” Red told him, scratching him behind the ears. “Our budget's been a little tight lately.”
Poochyena deflated, his tail drooping.
“Hmm. `To the Master of Suicune?' interesting address…”

The rest of the letter was very simple. It was an invitation to a month long party at Steven's mansion. That caught Red's attention. The Champion of the Houen League had vanished for the past three years, along with many other Elite Four members and Champions. Even Lance, the Dragon Master of the Johto League had gone…
“So they want me to RSVP?”
Sounds interesting. Poochyena said.
“I don't know…” Red hesitated.
Free food! How could it not be good!
“But it doesn't mention what type of party it is…”
Probably just dancing. Maybe some battles, that'd be nice. Arcanine yawned.
“Well…”
It would be impolite not to go. Suicune said, arching against him. He scratched her behind the ears too.
“I guess so.”
Besides, if there are battles there, I'm sure you'll do well!
That was true enough. He'd dropped out of the battling scene for a while, trying to concentrate on his schoolwork, but… it was summer now, so…
Maybe this would be just what he needed to get back in the swing of things. He sent a quick email to the address listed on the bottom, saying that he would go, and tried not to get too excited.
But… to be able to relax for a while, not think about school, and battle pokemon again - it was like a dream come true.
It seemed to good to be true, almost. No, there was no point in being negative. He would have to provide his own transportation, but he had Pidgeot.
Everything was fine.

He wondered how many pokemon he should bring. Even though the letter had not explicitly mentioned battling, there might be some time for friendly competition. He'd pack tomorrow.
For now, he had dinner to make and things to do.

“So how many responded?”
“Almost all of them.” Karen said, checking her email. “A few of them declined for family reasons. That's good. We wouldn't want those emotional ties dragging them down. Those with families do not have the necessary attributes…”
Lance nodded. “And Steven? How are the preparations coming?”
“Food, check. Decorations check.” Stevens said with a smirk. “As for the human prisoners, well, Charlotte told them that if they killed the trainers who tried to enter and take the Moon Stone, they'd be able to go free.”
“Pity they don't know freedom equals death here.” Lance sneered. “And Lorelei?”
“She'll be returning soon.”
“Very well.” Lance said, and glanced out the window, with a proud smile.
Everything was finally falling into place.

Not manga-verse, since manga Lance and Steven would SO not get along. But I'm using manga! Lance, because it was requested.
I put Charlotte in because she's my pet OC and I like her. She is not involved romantically/going to be involved with any canon characters.
