Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Pokegenie ❯ Chapter 10

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

It's probably better to be writing something than nothing. So, I can't write two fics at the same time, but I'll try… of course, writing takes time, and sometimes you need references, and it really, majorly sucks when your network is crashed and you can't reference…
Lance: Yes, now get to the point
Kairo: Maybe phantomness wants a break
Shoyko: … It's possible!
DISCLAIMER: Pokemon belongs to Nintendo and Shogakukan Comics. This non-profit, non-copyright infringing fanfic belongs to me. Don't take my work. The original pokegenie idea belongs to Disruptor.

Chapter 10

Misty sighed.
“Misty, there's nothing I can do.” Oak reminded her.
“I wish there were something. I don't want to be like this!” Misty indicated the extra pair of legs sticking out of her abdominal area, like a bug. “I'm a freak!”
She couldn't attack, nor would she want to. That was icky! Oak said she was a water/bug type pokemon, but still!!
In nature there are bugs that can skim on the surfaces of water. Was she turning into one of those? Amusing…
“Am I just supposed to accept it?” Misty wailed.
“Even if you don't accept it, it's a fact of life.” The professor said crisply. “Whether or not you agree is up to you. It's just easier of you acknowledge the truth that's right in your face.”
He turned to leave, before something hit him in the back of the neck. It was wet.
Misty stared at her hand in disbelief. Her anger had caused a stream of water to shoot out at him…
“So you know Water Gun? Well, that's handy…”
Unfortunately, her body had not yet adapted itself to the task of attacking, this action had been completely unexpected and energy consuming, so she immediately fainted straight after.
Oak threw a poke ball at her, sucking her inside. Then, he placed the poke ball in the rejuvenator and waited for her to heal.
Human-type pokemon… what was next?

“I choose you, Metapod!”
Ash's jaw dropped. The bug catcher glared at him. “What? You want to make something of it?”
Maybe it was an exceptionally powerful Metapod? It was his second match, on the grass field, and they were first pokemon both.
“Pidgeot, I choose you! Wing Attack!”
“Metapod, String Shot!”
Ash Pidgeot neared, strands of sticky fiber shot out and up, trying to tie it up. Pidgeot quickly veered away, and disregarding Ash's orders, went for a Gust attack. That glued Metapod up right well with its own thread.
Satisfied, Pidgeot now gave a Wing Attack.
Tyler's jaw dropped. He hadn't expected _that_! People usually went in for a physical attack and so the thread would disable them.
Great. Now he had to think of something else.
“Go, Caterpie!”
Pidgeot used another Gust, and Caterpie, being weaker, fainted. Now the stakes were two in favor of Ash…
“I forfeit!”
“What?”
The referee looked at Tyler, who repeated his words.
“Why are you forfeiting?”
“My last pokemon will KO everything you've got! It wouldn't be fair!”
Ash blinked. “…?”
The referee laughed. “That's no reason, son. Send out your pokemon.”

“Fine then! I see you're proud! Well, just you wait! Go Amanda!” Tyler smirked arrogantly. * Hah! No one expected this! But my sister… well, she'll listen to me all right. So there's nothing that can beat this. Her annoying voice has now become a weapon! *
Ash stared as a teenage girl in skintight orange appeared out of a poke ball. There were no visible signs of type, so he waited.
Was she… normal?
“You can't use pokemon human hybrids in the league! That's illegal!” Shouted a judge from another field.
“Want to bet? She's a pokemon all right! Amanda, use Screech!”
A truly horrible noise filled the ears of all unfortunates nearby. Ash clapped on a pair of earmuffs, before he nodded to pidgeot. “Hang in there, Sky Attack!”
One turn charge…
“Now, Amanda, use Howl!” Amanda's attack rose up, combined with Pidgeot's low defense, if she hit first they were screwed.

Pidgeot was fast, though… Ash checked Amanda, she was level 20, far below Pidgeot's level. Sky attack blasted her into unconsciousness.
“Red trainer -Ash Ketchum wins!”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
“Just because you have a human pokemon doesn't automatically mean you win.” Ash said quietly, recalling pidgeot.
The judge came down, clapping a hand on Tyler's shoulder. “You are using unregistered pokemon… you'd better come with me.”
Tyler started to run, but not before an Officer Jenny caught him. “Shall we?”
“Take him into custody!”

Ash paid no more attention to Tyler.
Once he was out of sight, Ash headed for his room in the Golden Sun motel. After he had locked the door to his room, he let Lance out.
Lance stretched luxuriously, smiling.
“Lance, I saw another pokemon human today.”
Really?
“It was a girl. I think she was a normal type.”
Let me look. Ash nodded, as he focused on the images. Lance placed her fingers on his temples and began transmission. < Normal-type? >
“Yes, I think so.”
Normal-type evolution can be caused by Polka-dot bow or pink bow. It probably only affects girls, because there is no way a guy would be wearing those…
“I see.”
The Surge is here, as we both know. There may soon be many human pokemon. You are… prepared to deal with it?
Ash nodded grimly. “I'll protect you.”
Thank you. I know you will… you're a good trainer, unlike him.
“Did he catch her?”
They were siblings. So she would obey him. She's good at sound moves - Howl, Supersonic, Screech, Sing, and Hyper Voice, but that's all she knows right now.
“So no threat.”
Not yet… we must be on our guard though…
Ice glittered in both of their eyes in recognition. “Hai.” He paused. “Lance, how did you know?”
< I'm a genie, remember? But I'm also a ghost… the spirits told me. I talk to them all the time, it's fun. >
“Oh.”
