Chapter 9
Over the next few weeks, Lance and Ash had sex. A lot. No, not really, Ash worked hard and at night, Lance would hold him and kiss him and occasionally tease him. Sweet. So very sweet…
He was in the middle of his nightly ritual of `milking honey' when it happened. He began to glow.
Lance watched, as a mew emerged. Ash was the normal mew pink, except he had a golden stripe on his back in a thunderbolt shape.
< I feel so energized! > Ash cheered.
“Well, it had to happen sooner or later.” Lance said, as Ash turned back and continued his task.
< Yes, but… > Ash frowned, somewhat oddly. < Aniki? Every time I do this, I feel stronger and smarter? >
< Hai. It's bouchu magic. That's another way to pass energy and talent on quickly. But done improperly you can drain someone of all their energy and kill them. Why do you think I only let you do this when you improved your skills if I like it? >
< … Oh. You're always watching out for me, aniki. >
< Someone has to do it. > Lance chuckled.
Ash flopped on top of him. < I know. >
< You're so light… >
< Maybe it's because I'm a Mew now. >
< That could be it. >
< That could be it. >
Lance reported to Lugia after he had sent Ash to sleep.
< So it happened? >
< Hai. >
< You two seem to be getting along quite well… >
< Hai, Lugia-san. >
< Forget the formalities; you don't need them. > Lugia chided. < See, it worked! Aren't I good at this? >
< Yes. I'm just confused on one thing. >
< Ask away. >
< Why did Ash like me? I mean, people normally don't fall in love with their siblings… well, most people. >
< Because you're more than his brother. >
< I suppose… >
< You've been taking care of him for years. >
< I can't help it. Natural instinct! >
< Well, he likes that… >
< Oh. > Lance said, without more chatter. < I kind of see. What's our task by the way, Lugia-san? >
< This time, you just need to follow Misty for a year. >
< A year?! Lugia-san! >
< Yes. If Missingno appears, it will be this year, Serebii has kindly informed me. So… >
< Hai, Lugia-san… now how to do that… >
Lugia left while Lance began to ponder. < It's too much trouble to cast psychic nets and scan her the whole time, so we'd have to stay close. How disgusting…! But there's nothing I can do about it. >
He sighed. < Well, first tell Ash… >
He'd deal with that later. Tomorrow was Ash's birthday, he remembered, and so presents…
Ash woke up to the warm feeling of bliss.
“Happy birthday, little one.” Lance said. A cake and two wrapped presents lay waiting for him.
“Wai!” Ash cried, hugging Lance. The backwards momentum might have ruined the cake, but Lance caught his balance and put Ash down.
“You should probably put something on first though.”
“Eh?”
Charizard laughed. Charmander had evolved quickly, after battling a wandering grass-type trainer with six strong pokemon.
So shy! It's so cute though…
“Charizard!”
I have a present for you too.
“Okay!” Ash quickly threw on his jeans and green t-shirt with a Charmander on it. It wasn't until later that he registered _why_ he had been so dressed.
But in any case, he first turned his attention to the cake, which was devoured quite quickly, and the presents.
Charizard's present turned out to be a very nice red vest with white sleeves. Ash wondered how she had gotten it, but didn't pry.
We all have secrets.
He opened the first of Lance's presents and gasped when something flooded him. Inside was a very innocent looking flute, clear glass…
“Kirei…”
“You'll find out what happens when you play it.” Lance told him.
“Okay!”
Ash quickly opened the second package. He gasped.
“A-aniki? How did you-?”
Woah, expensive! Charizard whistled. Millennium armor would mold to the pokemon's body and protect against everything, but it cost a bundle.
“Oh, I have my ways.” Lance chuckled.
I see…
Ash kissed Lance as Charizard averted her eyes. This was becoming quite routine; it seemed…
Well, if they were happy, it was good.
Lance decided to tell Ash about Misty later, he could do psychic nets for a while. Besides, Ash should enjoy his birthday.
