Chapter 1
The sun was setting as Alyssa Enrilé was hiking in the forest near Turtle Cove.Chapter 1
‘I still can’t believe how a forest so beautiful…can be scary,’ she thought as she stopped near a small stream. She brushed back her short black hair from her medium beige skinned face and warm brown eyes. Wearing a pink shirt, black jeans and boots she looks normal…yet one of a kind in the world.
She put down her backpack to pull out a white and pink jacket to wear against the cool air that was blowing.
Although she has lived in Turtle Cove for six months, she felt more at home in nature when she gets some time away from her job as a kindergarten teacher. Today was no exception...from spending time being one with nature.
She settled her pack on her back and looked around her as she fingered a round Pink Crystal Pendant she wears always. Her grandmother gave her the Pendant on a gold chain on her eighteenth birthday. When she touches the Pendent, she feels the Love and Strength the Stone holds within…as well as the knowledge of how proud her family is in her.
Every time she felt her Pendant, its as if her Family was with her…and giving her the Strength to move on with her new life.
After a minute, she started walking again.

A few minutes later, she found herself in a meadow surrounded by pine trees. She looked around and felt the peacefulness the area was giving to those who look for it. “This is the perfect place to camp out,” she said as she put her pack down and started to set up her tent. She was so into setting up her camp site, she didn’t notice a pair of red eyes looking at her from afar.

“Well, looks like I won’t need to go far to steal Life Energy,” the org said softly as it hid in the bushes. It looked like a body of bard wire, yet always hungry for Life Energy to live on.Yet, he has to stay ahead of the Wild Hunters to stay alive.
Until then, he can wait until the right moment to steal the girl’s Life Energy. He took one last look into the meadow before fading into the shadows.

By 9 o’clock, Alyssa had her camp site up for the night as well as a camp fire to cook a late dinner. As she was eating, she thought about the local legends of a hidden valley that’s home to Mystical Animals and beings that are…different. Even after hearing different versions of the Legend, she just find its hard to believe…that its just a story. Its as if…the Legend was more fact than fantasy.
‘I wonder what the Animals are like,’ she thought while she finished her meal, ‘It would be wonderful to see them for real.’
A noise of a branch breaking was all the warning she got…before she got out of harms way. A fire blast hit the spot she was at as she rolled away and got to her feet.
“Well, you move fast for a human,” the org said as he revealed himself, “Let’s see how well you fight.”
The org started to fight Alyssa as she defended herself, using the Tiger Style moves her father taught her. She and the org were evenly matched as they fought.
‘She fights like a Wild Hunter,’ the org thought, ‘yet she’s human. How can this be?’
After a few minutes, the org got the upper hand as he grabbed her arms.
“Let go of me,” she said as she tried to loosen his hold.
“Not until your Life Energy belongs to me,” the org said as he started stealing her Life Energy.
As much as Alyssa fought the org’s hold, she started to feel weak. She fell to her knees as vision was getting burry. So much so that she wasn’t sure that she saw someone coming from the forest…or felt her Pendant disappear from her neck.
The org was into taking her Life Energy that he didn’t notice the hooded person who entered the meadow.
“Hey org,” a male voice said, “Leave her alone!”
The org looked to see the one thing in the world he feared: a Wild Hunter. The Hunter’s medium length hair was as dark as his dark brown eyes, which looked even darker against his medium beige skinned face.
However, the Hunter was looking at him like he was prey.
“What do you want Hunter?” the org asked.
“You know the sentence for stealing Life Energy,” the Hunter said in a deep tone, “I’m here to end your hunger for good. Get ready to meet your end!”
The org dropped the girl to the ground as it got ready to make tracks.
In a flash of red light, the Hunter changed into his Ranger form with a helmet that is shaped as a Lion and the symbol of his Animal on his suit, over his heart. AN: in short, his Wild Force uniform and helmet.
In a quick movement, he pulled out his Crystal Saber and threw it towards the org. The org moved out of the Saber’s path…and away from the girl. The Saber hit the ground near the girl before causing a protective field around her to prevent the org from harming her.
The org didn’t have a chance to get away as the Hunter jump the length of the meadow and started to fight the org.
It wasn’t long before seeing that the Hunter had the upper hand.
Then the Hunter pulled out his Lion Blaster and fired it at the org. The org was burned to ashes in seconds.
The Hunter made the Lion Blaster disappear and walked to the pile to pulled out a small Crystal Globe. The Globe glowed in his hand before he released the Life Energy into the night. He changed back into his outfit of a dark red shirt, black jeans, boots and a long black hooded cape.
Then he noticed another Crystal Globe in the ashes. He picked it up as it started to glow in a Pale Pink Light…before forming a small model of a White Wild Tiger in the Globe…or Gem, as it’s now known.
The Wild Hunter Cole was surprised for two reasons.
One that the young woman he saved was one of the lost Hunters who left the Animarium 3,000 years ago. The other, which is the biggest surprise, is that he can see in color. He hadn’t seen color in more than 3,000 years, ever since he was chosen to be a Hunter.
The longer one of his kind is a Hunter, the ability to see colors and all emotions slowly disappear.
The only way a Hunter can regain them is if he finds his Lifemate. However, those of his kind have been getting smaller over the centuries, ever since the King and a group of Wild Hunters left the Valley…never to be seen again.
He pocketed the Wild Gem before going over to the young woman and pulled out his Saber from the ground, bringing down the force field.
He kneed near her to see that she had passed out from the Life Energy drain…and that she was beautiful in her sleep. ‘Where did that come from?’ he thought as he shielded his Saber, ‘As hard as this is to believe happening to me, yet…I know in my Soul that she is my Lifemate.’
As gentle as he was able, he picked her up into his arms.
She stirred a little before she opened her eyes. All Alyssa could see was the most handsome guy in her life holding her in his arms. His hair was loose around his face, but his eyes were Mysteries that she couldn’t look away. There was something about him…that touched a part of her Soul.
“Who are you?” she asked weakly.
“My name is Cole Evens,” he replied warmly, “Sleep without any fear; I’ll make sure you are safe.”
For some reason, she believed him as she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Cole was amazed to get the feelings he was getting as he held her close. He took a quick look into her mind before whispering into her ear, “Sleep Alyssa, knowing that you are Protected under my care.”
As soon as he stood up, he looked around the area before he turned to walk into the Forest…to a place only Wild Hunters know.
********* *********
The Wild Enchantress was about to head for her room for the night when she saw Cole enter the Temple with a young woman in his arms. “What happened?” she asked as Cole placed the young woman on the alter of the Praying room.“An org was draining her Life Energy,” he said as he looked at the Enchantress, “Plus…she had this.” At those words, he pulled out the Wild Gem to show her.
“The Wild Tiger Gem,” she said softly before she went to get a closer look at the young woman, “This means…she is a Wild Hunter.”
“How? I thought only those of Animarian blood can become Wild Hunters,” Cole said, “From what I was able to Sense, she’s human.”
The Enchantress was quiet as she held the woman’s hand and looked into her mind. “Of course,” she said as she brushed the woman’s hair from her face, “It seems Alyssa…is the Heir to the Tiger Hunter Powers…with the blood of our Kind.”
Cole was surprised at the news.
After many centuries of prays and hopes, not only has a Hunter returned to the Animarium…but she was also the one being who can save his Soul.
As if knowing his thought, the Enchantress said, “You better be around for the next few days…to help her adjust to her new life. For now, carry her to the rose bedroom and I’ll follow shortly.”
With a nod, he lifted Alyssa into his arms and left the room.
The Wild Enchantress saw him go before she looked outside towards the sky. “*Thank you for hearing my prays…to save the Soul of the Wild Lion Hunter,*” she said in the old language of the Hunters, “*Maker of all living thing.*”
With a warm smile on her face, she turns to prepare for the morning of a brighter day.
