Prologue

Angela yawned as she sat up in bed. She glanced around, taking a moment to discern her current location. It took her brain five minutes to register the fact that she was no longer in America, but now in Japan. Throwing off the blanket, she headed for her wardrobe to locate her new school uniform. As Angela stared at it, she could not help but wonder what made her agree with her family's decision to migrate to Japan. After all, it was not as if they could not survive back in America.

She had just fastened her school skirt when the door to her room opened with a bang. Looking at the door, she found her twin sister, Amanda, beaming at her. She arched an eyebrow gracefully and asked,

"Amanda, what do you want?"

Amanda grinned, cocked her head slightly and asked back in return. "What makes you think I want something?"

Angela could not help but smile at her sister's cheeky remark. Fastening her hair into a tight ponytail, she reached for her school bag and headed for the door. Amanda followed her lead obediently until they reached the kitchen where the aroma of freshly made pancakes filled the air, tempting them to drool as they inhaled the fragrance.

"Good morning, Mom." Both girls greeted their mother enthusiastically.

"Good morning, Girls." Their mother, Alice Mckenzie, greeted them back with a smile.

Breakfast at the Mckenzie household was peaceful as they had nothing much to discuss yet. After breakfast, both girls bid their mother farewell and headed for the direction of their respective schools. Even if both girls were standing at the same height, having the same sea-green eyes; chestnut brown hair; they were totally different from one another in terms of personality and characteristics.

Angela Mckenzie, was the eldest among the two, since she was born five minutes before Amanda. She was more of the studious type, she enjoys reading in her leisure time. She's quiet, observant and prefer keeping her views to herself. Amanda, on the other hand, was the total opposite. Amanda enjoys making friends, she's outgoing, loud and tends to speak her mind. She does not care of what others thinks of her and cannot be bothered by them either. Angela and Amanda was so different that even their relatives will wonder if they are really twins, since their social and academic lives were so different.

Back in America, Angela was usually seen alone studying in the school library or reading silently under a tree while waiting for Amanda. Amanda was always seen mixing around with different group of friends, and enjoys making conversation. In terms of academic fields, Angela excels in nearly every subject and was always within the top five percent for the school while Amanda, only managed to score borderline passes grades. However, both of them excelled in the field of Tennis. They are both school representatives for the American Interschool Tennis competitions.

As they arrived at the cross junctions of their neighbourhood, they bade each other farewell as they headed their separate ways. Angela towards the direction of Seishun Gakuen, while Amanda headed towards the direction of Hyoutei Gakuen which was located in the East and West directions respectively.
