Mortal Kombat: Death Blooms, So Does Love

Chapter one: Pyre and Shadow

The place is Tokyo, the location is a roof on top a four story building.
On the building in question were two people. They were dressed in outfits that
normal people would find rather strange.

They were wearing weird looking ninja outfits. The outfits had something that
looked like giant suspenders.

Both of them have small belts that resemble sumo belts. They also have flaps on
their lower legs and weird looking bracers
that covered their wrists and a part of their hands. They also wore masks.

Everything besides the suspenders, belts, flaps, bracers and masks were coloured
black.

While for one of them the items that were not coloured in black were orange in
colour, for the other they were grey.

You could tell that both of them were male, but their age you couldn't tell
because of the masks.

"So, what were we supposed to do here again?" Asked the one in black and grey.

"I told you about the promise I made as a child right?" The one in red and black
answered with a question.

"Yeah, you promised your childhood crush that you'd get into Tokyo University.
That does not answer why we're here."
He said, slightly agitated.

"I'm here to study. Since the tournament is over, we can do something else than
fight all the time." He stopped to quickly
think over his words, and then continued. "We're going to a place called Hinata
Inn. My grandmother lives there. So does
my aunt if I'm right."

"You're right. It does get tiring doesn't it Pyre?"

"Yeah. And I think we should start using out normal names from now on Shadow."

"Sure Keitaro. We should get normal clothes while we're at it shouldn't we? We
look like weirdoes in this place."

"Good idea Ranma. Let's go."

After a quick run to a local clothing store they came out wearing normal looking
outfits.

The Person known as Keitaro Urashima, also known as Pyre was wearing a plane
white shirt and black slacks combo. He also
had rather thick looking glasses on.

The other person, Ranma Saotome, also known as Shadow was wearing a red
sleeveless Chinese shirt, and dark blue drawstring
Chinese pants.

"So, where to now?" Asked Ranma.

"We go to grandmas' place." Answered Keitaro. "And we walk, no roof hopping." He
added.

"Awwwwww...no fair." Said Ranma with a fake pout.

After walking for about an hour or so, first out of town, then up the mountains,
they find a beautiful three story house.
It looks a little ancient, but very beautiful none the less.

"This must be it...Hinata Inn." Came from a surprised looking Keitaro.

Ranma whistles. "Whoa, this place is huge. C'mon let's go in and find a room.
I'm tired from all the travelling." He said.

"Yeah, We haven't eaten in a while either." He answered. Then they both entered.

"Hello? Hey grandma. You in here? It's your grandson Keitaro, I've also brought
a friend." Said Keitaro in a loud tone so
it would be heard.

"If you imitated Scorpion I bet they'd come out in a second." Said Ranma,
chuckling.

"Yeah, that guy would scare their very souls out of them with only the way he
talks." Said Keitaro, also chuckling.

"So what now?" Asked Ranma.

"Hey, there's grandmas' room. Let's wait for her in there." Said Keitaro
pointing at a door with a nametag on it.

"Sounds like a plan I guess." Answered Ranma, opening the door and entering,
Keitaro right behind him.

"Wow! This room is huge. Grandma lives in here?" Asked Keitaro out loud, rather
shocked that the room itself looked
like an apartment.

"Yeah. Hey I was meaning to ask, what's with the glasses anyway? You never wore
any before." Asked Ranma, finding it
weird that his friend never wore glasses before.

"I'm practically blind without them Ranma. Why I never wore any before is
because I used my powers to control my sight."
He answered. "It's tiring to always use my powers so instead I'll just wear
glasses." He added.

"Okay, whatever. What do you want to do to waste time? Spar? Eat? Sleep?" Asked
Ranma, picking his favourite hobbies.

"I'd rather take a bath. If I remember right then there should be an open area
hot spring around here." Answered Keitaro.

Both boys exited the room and went down the hall until they came to a door. They
entered and saw a huge hot spring.
They quickly undressed and entered the hot water.

"Man, this is heaven. I remember always taking hot baths after getting wet and
changing into a girl." Said Ranma with a cringe at remembering the curse.

"You're lucky master Sub-Zero could fix it eh? We were lucky that the Lin-Kuei
have a sacred and blessed spring used for
healing." Said Keitaro.

Then they heard the sound of the door to the hot springs opening. They both
turned their heads towards the door and what they
saw shocked them both and made their jaws drop, they drooled to boot.

In came a girl with long light-brown hair, she was what every guy would describe
as a 'babe'. But the fact that she was
beautiful was not what shocked Ranma and Keitaro. It was the fact that she was
completely naked, she didn't seem to want
to hide it either.

"Ahh...I love this hot spring. Bathing at noon is always the best!" She said
while sinking into the hot water.

"Uhh...wha..." Was what came from Ranma's and Keitaro's mouths. Their brains
were currently not properly functioning
because of their hormones.

"Don't you think my breasts have gotten bigger? Here take a look." She said,
putting her arms under her breasts to give
them a full view. "I can't compare to you though...Hey c'mon I'll let you touch
them!" She said all of a sudden.

Then she grabbed Keitaro in a hug and moved her hand to his hand. But she moved too low,
coming in touch with a certain part of the
male anatomy that gets hard at times.

Keitaro of course was shocked. Some girl that he had never seen before in his
life just came up to him, offered him to
touch her breasts, and then grabbed him 'there'. His reaction to this? He froze.

"Huh? What's this hard thingy? It's getting bigger and bigger..." She then let
go of him and took a pair of thick and round
glasses that were on one of the many stones surrounding the spring. As soon as
she saw a boy in front of her she realized
what she had done. And a moment after that she thought about what a boy was
doing in a girls' dorm. After thinking she came
to one conclusion, she screamed.

"WAAAAAHHHHHH!!! SOMEONE HELP!!! THERE ARE PERVERTS IN HERE!!!¨ She screamed at
the top of her lungs. This of course shocked
both Ranma and Keitaro. Their logical reaction was to run.

"Some times I hate being related to you Ranma!" Said Keitaro while running.

"Same here Keitaro!" Answered Ranma.

All of a sudden there was an 'Oomph' sound that came from Ranma. This stopped
Keitaro as he looked at what happened to his
companion. When he saw what happened to his cousin he didn't know whether to
laugh or to be scared.
There was Ranma, his head stuck between a woman's cleavage, his hand on her right breast.
The girl in question had short brown hair, and as he
noticed, rather big breasts.

As soon as Ranma noticed where he was he de-attached himself and quickly spilled
some apologies. Then he quickly ran off
after the girl they saw at the bath came in shouting that they were the
perverts.

They continued running. Running into a dark skinned girl with blonde hair
wearing a school uniform, and a girl with short
dark blue hair wearing a cooking apron, showing her their 'assets' by accident.

They continued to run none the less, fearing for their very lives. Their escape
led them outside and up a pair of stairs.

They ran up and came across a big balcony that had clothes hanging from poles,
probably to dry them.

"Dammit, a dead end." Said Keitaro.

"Not unless we jump." Said Ranma.

Then they turned around a saw five females in front of them, three of them
angry, one scared and the other one, smiling?

All four girls they met earlier were there, and another girl who was wearing a
kendo outfit similar to Kunos', she also
had long black hair, and had a wooden sword in her hand.

"We're in it deep aren't we?" Asked Ranma.

"Yeah. Why the hell did this happen to us?" Keitaro asked himself out loud.

Then all of sudden the girl with long light brown hair decided to introduce
Keitaro to her fist. With a loud shout, she
ran forward and delivered a powerful punch aimed right at Keitaro's face.
Keitaro easily dodged the attack, silently
thanking his training.

While this was happening The girl with the wooden sword tried to slash at Ranma,
who easily dodged the strikes. After
avoiding a series of punches and slashed from both girls the boys jumped back
about ten feet to give themselves distance,
and also to try to talk themselves out of this mess.

"Hey hold on! We came here to look for my grandma and ask her if we could stay
at this inn. We didn't mean to peek at any
of you, or to show off our privates. Honest!" He shouted frantically, trying to
calm the girls down.

But the girls would have none of it. "You honestly expect us to believe that?!
Such and obvious lie?! This place is a
girls dormitory!" Shouted the girl with long light brown hair.

"A GIRLS DORMITORY?!" Shouted the two boys to themselves. They'd had absolutely
no idea about that. All they knew was that
Keitaros' grandmother owned an inn. The two boys started backing up after
hearing the girls say something about taking
them to the police station.

Then, another person came up the stairs, complaining about the noise. She was a
woman in her mid twenties, she had short
black hair. "Hey, aren't you my nephew Keitaro, and you're Ranma right?" She
asked.

"Aunt Haruka? Long time no see!" He said, hugging her legs. Meanwhile Ranma just
stood there ready to run if necessary.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" Came the shout from one Naru Narusegawa. She was currently
very angry. These two, perverts were trying
to get to stay here for a while?

Not if she had anything to say about it. She then started to shout out every possible
insult to a man's pride that there is. Both boys just ignored her, while turning
to Haruka.

"Oh man. I though grandma would let me stay here for a while. So I didn't bring
any money with me. Where is she anyway?"
Came from Keitaro, who was seriously trying to ignore all of Naru's insults.

"She went on a world tour about a year ago, she hasn't been back since then. We
do receive a fax from her once in a while
though." Answered Haruka rather calmly.

"It figures. This kind of crap always happens to us." Said Ranma, chuckling to
himself at the irony of their chaotic lives.

"Why the heck does this always happen to us anyway?" Asked Keitaro out loud.
*This is always happening. Me and Ranma travel here all the way from China and
look what happens.* He thought sadly. "Oh well, sorry to bother all of you."

"Sorry Keitaro. Living here would have saved you rent money, but it would be too
hard to live here for the both of you."
Said Haruka, giving the boys a faint smile.

"No kidding." Said Ranma.

"Hey Keitaro, Ranma you should both be students now right? Tokyo University
students right?" Asked Haruka. She knew
Keitaro's goal was always getting into Tokyo U, and wherever Keitaro went, Ranma
followed.

Ranma and Keitaro looked a little dumbfounded. "You should both be in your
second year right?" Asked Haruka again.

"What are talking about aunt Haruka? Tokyo U has always been my goal but..."
Keitaro started to answer but was cut off.

"TOKYO UNIVERSITY?!" Shouted all the other females, rather surprised at the
revelation, jumping to conclusions to boot.

"YOU'RE TOKYO U STUDENTS?! THAT'S AMAZING!!" Shouted the girls gleefully. This
was really irritating Ranma. This may be a
first for Keitaro, but it wasn't for Ranma. So he decided to do something about
the situation.

"WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP?!" He shouted in a very demonic and scary voice which
would make Scorpion sound like a pansy.
Everyone in the house froze at Ranma's shout, except for Ranma and Keitaro.

"Thank you. Now Keitaro was saying before he was so rudely interrupted..." Said
Ranma, giving Keitaro a chance to speak.

"Uh, yeah. I was saying that we we're planning on entering Tokyo U, but haven't
become students yet." Said Keitaro
truthfully.

"So, you've failed your entrance exams twice already?" Asked Haruka, surprised.
Before the girls could start shouting
conclusions again the glare that Ranma gave them made them think twice.

"No. We just haven't taken the exams yet. We've been doing some other stuff for
the last three years. We graduated
high-school a year early so we could travel to China." Said Keitaro calmly.

"What were the two of you doing in China?" Asked the fox eyed woman Mitsune
'Kitsune' Konno. The girls had obviously
come out of the shock that Ranma gave them.

"First I want to know what is the problem with him? He is a guest here and he
shouted at us just like that." Said the
sword wielding Kendoist known as Motoko Aoyama, pointing at Ranma.

"Sorry about that. It's just that I know how it feels like to have a lot of
girls jump to conclusions on you. I decided
to help him out. Again, I apologize." Said Ranma. He really was sorry. Scaring
people out of their wits like that was not
really what he liked to do. Unless it was in a fight.

"I don't know if we should tell them Keitaro. After all, we're leaving anyway."
Continued Ranma.

"Umm, about that..." Came from Haruka, who suddenly appeared behind the two
boys. "I just got a fax from your grandmother."
She said handing a bunch of papers to Keitaro.

"Huh? Land property papers? What are they for?" He asked his aunt.

"They're for this entire land. It says that grandma is giving it all to you, on
the condition that you become the manager
of the place." Said Haruka.

"WHAT?!" Was the logical response from everyone.

"So now you all know. I've decided to become the manager of this place. I am
Keitaro Urashima, and this is my best friend
and cousin..." He trailed off, letting Ranma finish for himself.

"...Ranma Urashima, this guys' partner in crime. Whatever crime that may be." He
answered jokingly.

The girls were just too shocked to say anything. Until Kitsune spoke up. "So,
now you can tell us what you guys did in
China?" She asked, rather curious.

"If Ranma agrees then I agree. Ranma?" He said to his companion.

"I don't know if we can trust them. If they spill we could be in trouble." Said
Ranma, looking thoughtful.

"Hey, don't we deserve to know? You're going to be living with us for a while if
I'm right. Am I right?" Asked Naru. She had
calmed down a bit after letting out some steam with insults.

"She's right. Anyway, I'll take the blame if they spill it to anyone." Said
Keitaro to Ranma.

"Fine. First of all. What we are about to tell you will not leave this room in
any shape of form, is that clear? You won't
even talk about it to each other. You will listen to what we tell you, and you
will never, ever repeat it. Understood?"
All of the women and girls present nodded. Although some were rather irritated
at being commanded like that.

"Okay then. First of all I am Ranma Urashima of the Lin-Kuei, formerly Ranma
Saotome of the Saotome school of Anything-Goes
martial arts. My mother and I severed all connections with my father because of
his cowardly and dishonourable actions.

Which included theft, child abuse, slavery, torture and attempted murder, all of
these crimes were committed against me." Ranma seemed
to say all this with rather much control, although he was clenching his fists at
the memory of his father.

All the girls were very shocked to hear this. Especially Haruka. *Uncle Genma
did all that to him?!* "Wait, hold up, you mean
uncle Genma did all that to you? Who the hell in his right mind would do all
that to anybody?!" She shouted out loud.

"Relax auntie. All will be explained. Now it's my turn. I am Keitaro Urashima of
the Lin-Kuei. I never gave up the
Urashima name, but I left the clan three years ago. Me and Ranma are still
though of as members of the family though." Said
Keitaro. Calming Haruka down a bit. Just a bit.

Ranma decided to continue for him. "First of all. We both went to high-school
together three years ago. We graduated a year
early because of something that happened. You see, some members of the Urashima
clan have special powers.

These powers are very rare and very hard to control without the right training.
So, we went to China. There, after searching for many months
we found the Grandmaster of the Lin-Kuei, Sub-Zero the VI." Said Ranma, giving
Keitaro the word.

"There we trained until we became 19 years old. After that we decided to come
back here to greet our families. I also
came here to try to get into Tokyo U because of a promise I made to a friend as
a child. Ranma said he'd come with me,
I don't know why though..." Keitaro trailed off, wanting some answers from
Ranma.

"I follow this guy where ever he goes. Until the day he gets hitched I'll be
following him around all the time. This is
something I promised to master Sub-Zero and Keitaro's parents. It's fun with him
to boot, so I'll have a blast." Said Ranma,
smiling.

"Wait a minutes. That's all? What about what happened to Ranma? And your special
powers, what do you mean?" Asked Motoko.
Wanting some more answers.

"I rather not talk about my past, too many painful memories. The latter I can
tell you about though. You see, every memeber
of the Lin-Kuei clan has some sort of power that they are born with. When the
powers manifest however, is different for
each person. I was born with the power of the shadows and darkness, therefore
was given the name Shadow in the clan." Said
Ranma, grinning. He was rather proud of his position as a member of the
Lin-Kuei.

"I was born with the powers of flame and magma. Therefore gained the name of
Pyre. Every member of the clan wears special
ninja outfits, we're not wearing them now since we finished our training." Said
Keitaro. He was also rather proud of being
a Lin-Kuei member. "Now if you'll all excuse us, we have to go and buy some
books for studying." He finished. At that, both
boys ran out the door before anyone could say a thing.

Only one thought went through every woman's and girls mind in the house. *What
have we gotten ourselves into?* Well, maybe
except for Suu, she was thinking more on the lines of. *What's a Lin-Kuei? Is it
tasty?* Yep, life in the Hinata Inn just
got weirder and more exciting than ever. With the world biggest chaos magnets in
the world staying there, who knows what could happen?

Next Time: Life is more fun than ever at Hinata Inn. Ranma and Keitaro decide to
spar with special attacks when they think
no one's looking, boy are they wrong. Wait a sec, the two Lin-Kuei are also hiding something?
What's that?

Authors Notes: Man, oh man. What the hell am I doing writing a new fic? Am I
stupid or something?! Nah, ideas just tend to
fill my head. I can't help it alright?! Give me a break. C&C please. And don't
ask who to pair who with! I've already
decided!
