All I Ask Of You Is Love
"Why Don't You Answer?"
Ranma Saotome could see nothing in his life that was positive. He had a curse on him, he had enemies that would stop at nothing to see him dead, and a deep love at which he did not know about and can't express.
The one to which he has the unseen love, Akane Tendo, daughter of a lifelong friend of his father, was forced as well as he into an engagement making them fiancés to one another.
To shield what emotions they shared besides hate and jealousy, they show false feelings, which in the logical cold and ruthless truth and reality of the world would only cause more sorrow. If somehow they got around their feelings, figured them out there could be a hope for a feeling of warmth and comfort in their hearts once again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Question~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't help but think of what this feeling is. It can't be love I don't love her. When I see her even if it is for only a fraction of a second, I get warm and sensual feeling in my body. Then the feeling turns into an emptiness that is filled up with everything but that which the feeling is for her. We both know that the word "Friend" is an understatement of how we feel, but then "love" is an overstatement. Is there any word fit to go between those two.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yawn* "Hey pops what time is it?" Ranma-Chan said groggily remembering the dilemma she was in last night. She never "liked" getting into fights with Akane, or sleeping in his girl form. Sign~ "10 o' clock." Was what the panda held up.
She guessed that she should say sorry to Akane.
Just the thought of that argument. It made him feel bad enough, but less did he know that it had shattered Akane's heart.
~FLASHBACK~
"Why do you always do this you idiot?" Akane shouted, "Its not like there isn't a chance." Ranma had been walking down the road back from the last day of school, when shampoo jumped out and from nowhere and starting hugging and kissing him. Akane hit him in the face and burst into tears. Her mind was quick to the punch and so was her fist. Ranma had tried to explain that he didn't ask for this but her words struck him again, "Its not like there isn't a chance." A chance for what? Love?
She walked into the kitchen first to transform back into a guy. She put the water onto heat up and sat down for breakfast with everyone. Akane was eating her rice with no P-Chan insight (Ryoga went to the bathroom last night). She got the water and turned back, by the time he finished his food, Akane had already gone back to her room.
As he walked up to her door, rehearsing everything in his mind to how he would apologize he was startled when she opened the door right before he knocked and was greeted by a harsh "What?" This was a shock to him he had the entire thing planned out, but when he saw her, it went blank, and two words escaped from his mouth, "I'm Sorry." With that he walked away in his horizontal hands behind his back casual walk.
It took her some time to digest the fact that Ranma had just apologized to her for something. Just then a huge stream of water came and hit Ranma soaking her from head to toe, followed by a women screaming, "Sorry Mr. Tendo, I turned the knob on the hose the wrong way." With this everyone but Ranma and Genma (Pandas cant laugh now can they) burst out laughing. Shortly after Akane decided to relieve her stress in the steam of a hot bath, not in the steam of anger on Ranma's face, after all he did apologize.
It always helped her to think without stress and worries when she was in a hot bath. All the events that happened in the past two days between her and Ranma had no difference than any other days. But why did this day have to be so different. Its not like I am starting to warm up to him, I cant, I don't even like him… Its time for me to stop lying to myself. I can like him, I do, I have to tell myself the truth before I tell him, but the truth is so hard on me, how would he take it. I don't love him, just like. He has to feel the same way, but why now? I like things the way they were going for me… him… us.
I think it is time we both got together and had a talk, about feelings, our engagement, and how to live with them. She walked up to Ranma's room, to find no one was there. She went to the kitchen wit the same luck she had with his room. The last place to look would be the dojo. She walked in to see him practicing kenpo (the form used in the beginning of "Wild Like You".) She walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder, then jumped over him whilst doing a one-eighty, to no avail he went under her grabbed her shoulder and turned her body entirely around. "What is it?" he sounded hoarse in his voice, she hated to admit, but it did make her worry. Hiding all she could, saying, "Ranma are you alright, you sound hoarse?" Ranma looked at her and decided to tease her, "You're not worried about me are you? The tomboy worries, about me I'm honored." After that her talking to him went close to the unlocked window. Teasing her was so much fun to him, but to his pleasurable displeasure cheering her up was more fun. "Don't get mad though then you wont look cute with your smile." He leaned over to her and whispered, "Truthfully." With that she lunged into him with a massive hug. He was surprised but then started to smile, cradling her head in his arms, at that moment they both knew it wasn't just a friendship anymore it was far beyond, on the edge of love, but not quite yet.
